As a tesla model X owner I agree. If you're going to do minimalist let it look and feel luxurious
I love Tesla’s interior, but this is just absolutely stunning, better than anything I could really imagine
What a thing of beauty and design, just hope the production car is exactly like this one.
at what cost ? how much is the car? this is what matters.
@@ecod7r Considering it'll compete with the Taycan and e-tron GT as well as Model S, I would place it in the 140k range
You can't use your mobile phone whilst stuck in traffic but we will put 3 pc monitors in the cars instead.
I love the car by the way
My freaking goodness this looks sick inside and out.
Same thing wife and I said!! Hope its less than a Tesla cause im interested
@@chrisphx33 Agreed, but unfortunately, it will likely be more expensive. This is a direct competitor to the Model S, and if we're judging by the Polestar 2 (competing directly with the Model 3), it'll have inferior specs in every way but will cost more. I expect this car to be around 100k+
I honestly think Polestar's designs are some of the best in the world, can't believe they can be so clean and classy yet striking and beautiful. Its great!
Chinese design at it's finest.
@@StuninRub Polestar is based and designed in Sweden. It is an independent brand from Volvo, Volvo only owns 49.5% of it.
@@runessonadamar Guess who owns the rest and Volvo?
@@StuninRub the design is Swedish, not Chinese
@@Poppillon Why would it be Swedish when it is a Chinese car company?
I love that so many cars are coming with panoramic glass roofs, this is an absolute must have IMO.. makes the cabin such a nice place to be and gives the cars a sporty look on the exterior
Unless you live in the desert.
Or have dogs and you don't want it warmer. Oh, I forgot. EV's are not meant for having dogs. :D
Looks really nice! Not overly fond of the exterior “plate” on the front roof (hope they incorporate that in the car better with the final product) but I do like how the car looks overall. Also the sustainability aspects are worth a big thumbs up in my opinion.👍
ya they could and should do a much better job incorporating the electronic equipment than that...pretty slap dash if you ask me.
Since its lidar sensors they need to be mounted like that. Perhaps they can make it streamlined but a hump is required. volvo will have it on all future cars and my guess is that polestar will do the same with their future models
It's about time a new kid on the block came to upset Tesla's design! Great presentation Rory!
Damn right and truthfully Tesla doesnt have much of a range of design. The model Y is simply an SUV version of the model 3. And the model S is just a longer version of the Model 3. You put them all next to each other and they simply don't stand out much. Maybe that was the intention, who knows but I can definitely agree with you that THIS is how you turn heads. Just imagine this thing in colors like or black or white. Reminds me of the 2021 Corvette and the new Hummer EV's. Good design sells cars.
Beautiful concept, they should do one without the rear doors, would look better as a coupe
Great video Rory, as always. Enjoy your presenting style, very engaging and informative. Fantastic looking EV, first one I've looked at and desired!
I really like your way of presenting cars, Rory ! Good job !
Beautiful car. The guy doing the presentation is doing a great job describing it as well
awsome content keeps getting better "don't stop"
I can’t imagine how expensive breaking the wing camera will be on this 😂
That's really a stupid design... Seriously just do as teslas side cameras
Is someone crashes into your car it will likely ruin the rest of the life. The repair costs alone would be the price of a small house.
It’s chinese, so it’s cheap
@@drewbase just because something is Chinese does not automatically make it cheap anymore, iPhones and their parts are made in China, and they aren’t cheap.

... cheeseburgers, wow is that the new polestar infront of me
I'm kinda getting sold on these EVs. But i still love the sound of my gasoline engine
I'm in pretty much the same situation. It's funny, I was playing a video game last week, and one race had an electric car with two gears. And it was really fast, but... ah, the thrill was not there.
For now I'd rather have an electric motor added to my AMG. Give me 100km range for daily commute and let me have my ICE for when I want to have fun.
And I don't even have something special, like a Lambo or a Ferrari. Going from that to an electric car must be so disappointing.
Record it and play it back on the stereo when driving your EV :). I agree, though, nothing beats the growl of a decent V8. I wish they were further with e-fuels..
@@nevarran I drove a tesla 3 last week and Im sold. Its not like a normal car and Im getting one. Ill keep my Mercedes cabriolet though but I know it wont be for long. This car is the most beautiful I have seen. The tesla is average looking but the way it gets around is something else. I know I dont care about the sound. The Tesla sounds like a space ship and a lot faster than anything that makes a noise.
@@travis8665 Must drive like an F1 to convince me to buy a Tesla. Sadly the sound is half the fun for me, so it's unlikely to happen.
You can still have it. Called a sound generator, even the VW Passat PHEV has it. Also... "me like car go vroom vroom" is not exactly an intelligent argument when we're talking about stopping catastrophic climate change. Just saying.
Polestar is shifting my interest in EVs. I also love the Polestar 2 vs any EV aside from the Mercedes EQS.
It hits you that the Precept is in a league if it's own when the video cuts to regular cars. Impressive.
I love the look when they drop the B pillar, however it never makes it into production because of how horrible they perform on side impact crash tests
The i3 works, but that's a much shorter car.
I'm not an engineer but couldn't they reinforce the bottom and top?
@@catinthehat5140 in principal, maybe. The reality of engineering these things is always a bit complicated and gets expensive
The might be able to do something similar to Mercedes where the car raises up on air suspension just before a crash so the lower bar can take the brunt of the impact.

What a great job they’ve done. Hats off to Polestar

Awesome styling and design. Very beautiful!
We will see what actually ships... First thing I thought about the doors is how practical they are when you are parked next to other cars. Oh, and LiDAR....
Yep, particularly in UK parking spaces….
Can probs park and reverse via an app.
Rolls Royce uses such doors. They work.
@@B4R0N. Haven't seen a Rolls parked in a tight spot ever
Wouldn’t they work just like normal doors? Except that you exit forward and to the side from the back?

Your videos are quite concise; you just earned one more subscriber. You need not change or modify your presentations. They are spot on
What a beautiful car! I love it! This is quite daring and futuristic in a tasteful way. Merc EQS looks gaudy in comparison. At first look, there is no part of this car that I do not like.
Bravo Polestar, very well thought out. We’ve had our T8 for four years now and its been great. I can’t wait to see the Polestar lineup expanded with other models.
It's a Chinese car. Nationality was laundered to be Swedish, but in fact, it's a Chinese company owned and manufactured by Geely in China.
this door opening is very practical specially in tight parking space 😂
It depends how strong they are , they might push the other cars away 😂
You can just call the car out :/
Given how many sensors the car has I expect they'll open the right amount if there's something in the way.
I’m sure when they say the finished product will be pretty damn close to this concept, they mean it’ll have like 10% of these design touches and features.
We've had some crazy designs coming to production lately. But yeah, they'll change a lot of things for sure.
I honestly believe them. By not having for example an engine, engineers and designers aren't as limited as they are on ice cars. Look at the Ioniq 5 or the Kia EV6. They look like concept cars, although being production ready. This is an aspect that gets me really hyped concerning electrification
@@pukelbag but also look at the lexus lc 500, which looks exactly the same as its concept and has a 5.0L
volvo doesnt work like most manufacturers dude
@@pukelbag It ain't the engine that prevents you from making a wacky looking car. It's usually production cost, and safety regulations. That massive glass roof, for example, could it drop on your head during a crash? This kind of stuff.
Volvo (the automotive division) is 82% owned by Geely. Polestar is 49.5% owned by Volvo. But it gets more complicated than that. AB Volvo (the heavy equipment and truck division) is still a Swedish company but it owns the Mack Truck brand which most people would think was American and the Renault Truck brand which most people would think of as French. These days it almost takes an episode of "Finding Your Roots" with Henry Louis Gates to figure out the nationality of some brands.
Imagine opening these doors in a Tesco carpark.
Exactly. Impractical for aesthetics.
@@Wunderkinddd I think they would have thought about that, I wonder if they have sensors to open without object hitting.
@@Wunderkinddd strongly disagree with you about the different hinges ( dihedral or lambo would work as well but im not super sure there the better pick overall for this model ) and having no b-pillar's as loading and getting into and out are easier than conventional b-pliersed sedans

These companies need to stop playing with people's expectations and actually make these concept cars a reality! I for one would love to drive this car !
This looks simply amazing. Every week there's a fantastic new electric car, and that's really good for everyone.
Negative sounds! 🤣
Depends if Polestar/Volvo sell emission credits like Tesla does. It's pretty good for them, they make a lot of money from these. And the local factory that gets to spill more carbon in the air. For you, not so much.
Bloody hell, this is an art piece!
Me having worked for 10 years at Volvo Cars, I must admit, this is a killer design to future proof the brand and technology.
Really glad to hear that you are a Volvo employeee
It is damn gorgeous. No doubt. Love the lights too.
Doubt the final form will be this cool. Also highly doubt they’ll have one giant sunroof unless they split the front windshield. Imagine getting a chip and having to pay for the whole screen…
Hope they produce these soon so we get more EV races

I've got the facelift Polestar 2 on order (delivery October), but THIS is what I actually crave
Come on Polestar I need to see the production version!
"Small startup" - Owned by Volvo and Geely holdings (China)
Add to the fact that Polestar was established in 1996.
Polestar is 95% engineered by swedes, I've been to the office in Gothenburg and indeed know the people behind this masterpiece. On the other hand it will be produced in China (international) for cost efficiency etc.
Polestar leading the way in EV design! I'm so sick of every other car coming out being an SUV without SUV capabilities, just because that's the easy way to fit the batteries in! Battery technology isn't anywhere near where it needs to be and to be truly environmentally friendly, we need to put more investment into tech such as carbon electrode so we can ditch the Li-Ion batteries. Although I like the idea of Hydrogen cell, it isn't the solution.
It feels so good having my money invested in such an amazing company.
Simple, aerodinamic, pleasant design, blended with best technology, best performance
