We rent these out here in DFW from 3ft to 5ft. Please never use foam. Foam is super cheap and not something that should be rented out. These need to have a little weight to them because when placed outdoors they will fall. But not too heavy so they can be stacked. We build them. We’ve seen some terrible marquees and we take pictures of them as a what not to do. Also, do good electrical work with the lights. We have a huge laser cutter that cuts the numbers and letters perfectly. I’ve never seen battery operated marquees unless they are small table top marquees.
Hey @CyndiMoncada thank you for stoping buy we need to link up. We plan on having them laser cut. How long have you been doing the marquee letters Rentals? What made you decide to build yours vs purchase them? Thank you again for the feedback.
@@therentalsboyz we’ve been making them for 2 years. We have a large laser machine because we custom build backdrops for our clients’ events so it made sense for us to build our own rather than buy them since we already had $14k invested into a large laser machine. We also have a paint booth to paint them because plywood soaks up a lot of paint and spray paint is good for touch ups and scuffs, but with the size of marquees, painting with a spray gun gives a better look and it more time efficient. They also have to be caulked/sealed before painting. We also wire the electrical with led lights
I would love one day to see your warehouse and setup in the future. Thank you for the information. What made you get into the custom made background?
What do you suggest on for power? And what dimentions

Thank you for the information and videos.
Another great video.
These things make a killing in So Cal!
I build holiday REAL ice skating rinks, like the one in Grapevine and Fort Worth.
We should partner up and put one in Dallas! Might even let ya drive the Zamboni!
That’s cool you got a website we can see? Thank you for watching as always. Zamboni Lol
Grapevine has a nice one!
$90 wouldn’t even start to buy my letters. When I was selling, I sold 3’ for $180 and 4’ for $220. Made out of plywood. I rent only now.
We meant by building them.
@@therentalsboyz ahh that makes more sense. Mine averaged about $50 each to build.
What tools did you purchase?
As someone who both rents and sells nationwide, I know this particular industry pretty well. If you guys haven’t found a builder let me know. We ship directly to your ware house and have all the google reviews to back it up.
That's impressive, knowing the industry inside out! Thanks for offering your help. If we ever need a builder, we'll keep you in mind for your nationwide expertise and great reviews.
Jorge, where can I check out your work?
Where can find your information?
What booking software do you use? Can customers book these on demand or will it be exclusively through a quote?
We built custom rental software and our customer can instant book! What software are you planning on using or using?
@@therentalsboyz I am just starting out but thinking of doing the same as you, building on demand but I don’t yet have a system for taking a booking. It takes me 2-3 days to make 5 marquee letters (cut, edge, paint and install lighting) so bookings can only be done for marquee letters 3+ days out.
What system did you end up choosing?
