    I like the idea of a lightweight Spyderco . I only have a PM2 , but love it !!! My pet peeve about any of the lightweight spydercos is that they look just like the knives that sit in the big buckets at the corner stores next to the cash register ether the ball chain through them . I know they are great knives , but that’s where my mind goes when I see them ... thanks for the video . Take Care Zach !!

    • @zachstuff

      Visual impressions are huge! Thanks Jason and I’m glad the PM2 is a favorite!

      Zach’s Stuff on that note , I didn’t care for the PM2 when I saw it in pictures and videos . But so many people loved them , I just decided to finally try one . As soon as it came out of the box , I loved it . Those visual impressions can be deceiving . I’m sure one day I’ll get over it and try a lw spyderco !! Thanks again !! Take care ..

    I have several FRN Spyerdercos and love FRN, many do not but whatever. Though my favorite locking of theirs is the para 3 and pm2 ones, it they usually on come in G10. So I’m wanting a lightweight model, but not sure on what steel, spy27 being newish, I don’t k ow much about it.

    I have a decent benchmade collection including bugout. Also have a decent Spyderco collection. Picked up the para 3 lightweight about three weeks ago and it has been my main squeeze since. I love the color, super light weight with a deep carry. Mine is broken in now and super figgit friendly. Definitely love this knife. Great for the summertime with a pair of shorts. Like the bugout you forget it’s there.

    Para 3 Lw is one of the best edc knives ever made. I have two, dlt and regular lw, swapped blades and I'm carrying black para 3 Lw with m390 steel.

  • @normal1972

    I have loved Spydercos since my first one in 1991, but I tend to like bigger knives. My PM2 is usually my go to. I picked up a fully blacked out Para 3 lightweight about 2 months ago and it has been in my pocket ever since. It is such a good knife. Now Spyderco needs to make a PM2 lightweight in SPY27.

    I had the standard para 3 lightweight in cts-bd1n and I liked it okay but I just sold it over the weekend and I got a regular pm2 in s30v on the way and I went ahead and ordered a LynchNW clip for it. I wasn’t crazy about the frn and I hadn’t got to try out a pm2 yet. Also when I wanted to carry a lightweight knife I tended to grab my bugout more often.

    • @zachstuff
      @zachstuff  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay nice! The PM2's are a solid big knife! Bonus points on the LynchNW Clip! I wander towards a Bugout myself on occasion so I can see why. Thanks for the feedback!

    I might give it a try just to have a sample of the steel in the collection but I'll probably never carry it. The rumor I heard was this is supposed to be a US produced version of VG-10 and it seems to fall just about in that range for performance.

    It is for all intents and purposes S35VN. Same hardness and corrosion resistance, less edge retention, more ease of sharpening. But the steps up or down are going to be small, probably below tne discernable threshold for the average person. By formula it seems to be designed for high heat and secondary hardening. So why not just use S35VN?
