Thank for reaffirming my experience with WaterWeld. WaterWeld is an excellent temporary repair product for low pressure irrigation pipes. I use it in an emergency until a more permanent repair can be made, i.e. replacement of the damaged pipe with slip couplings or quick fix slip joints. I would not be enthusiastic about recommending it as a permanent repaired for a high pressure pipe (80 psi) such as in home plumbing systems although I have no long term experience in this regard.
A compression repair using a piece of radiator hose and radiator clamps has served well over the years, especially for pin hole leaks in copper. The hose inner diameter should be about the same size the external diameter of the pipe to be repaired. The hose is slit to enable placement around the pipe after which the clamps are opened and applied. These repairs can last for years. Thanks again!

I did that with a rubber hose on a copper pipe about 20 years ago, still fine.

I used that on a cracked shower pan that was there when I first moved into my current house so I could use it before I remodeled. it never leaked for the nearly 2 years I used it. very impressive product

Did it ever get rock hard. I've been waiting for several hours and it's still not rock hard. Yes it was thoroughly mixed. Just wondering if it ever gets rock hard.

@@andrewaardema7572 Very Noble of you to jump in and Protect your Friend. I have actually used this product. Yes. after several day's it does actually get as hard as it's going to get. For light job's, it's fine but it really doesn't have much strength.

Cold steel is the best version. All the sticks eventually turn brittle.

You would be better off with a compression sleeve. Who knows how long this will last? And it's behind drywall. This is a terrible fix for that situation.

I have this exact problem in our house - I'm having trouble finding a permanent solution - is a compression sleeve + this stuff the best option?
