    That's inside of the wall, not outside. Imagine the damage if that breaks loose and no one is hone? I recommend fixing it correctly by cutting out the leak and connecingt with a coupling and pvc pipe. The extra time will save you from the headache you'll have if it breaks loose but it's up to you.

    That's a nice and different idea if how to fix such a mistake. There are less complicated and less time consuming ways to do it.
    But, the cherry on top of the cake was the wooden plug that did not match the wood grains with the panel. That is a no-no always! The rest is entertainment.

      I just recently got a leak, but my issue is finding it. It has a water line running up into the house on a side that has no water lines so I'm completely befuddled as to why it's there in the first place. I'm not sure if it runs up to the 2nd floor from there, but if it does, it seems like a terrible place to do so. I'm also amazed at the sheer lack of water turn offs. There's one at the water heater and that's it. None throughout the rest of set up so I can't even shut down that one section if I wanted to.

    • @tipsunknow
      @tipsunknow  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for sharing your technique! Making a plug larger than the hole and then tracing the new hole to fit the plug sounds like an effective method for patching. It ensures a precise fit and can help prevent any gaps or misalignment. Different approaches work best for different situations, and it's great to have alternative methods to achieve the desired result. Your suggestion adds valuable insight to the patching process!

    I freakin drilled into the hot water copper pipe that goes into the shower. I tried FLEX TAPE.. still leaked since pipe is high pressure. Added more flex tape and still burst. Last resort was cut some thinner strip of flex tape, wrapped it around twice. Cut some strips of aluminum from soda cans and wrapped it over. Then used some hose clamp to hold everything over the hole. No more leak

    Why not just use PVC cement glue and glue the cut piece of PVC pipe on the outside of the damaged pipe instead of making a messy glue with styrofoam and CA glue? But I applaud your technique as it should work well.

      @@tipsunknow Ok plastic pudding is the common name for this product, it's used by panel beaters that repair damage cars, for instance if there is a dent the guy doing the repair will clean up the area and then mix some plastic pudding (which comes in two parts) which you mix then it becomes uniform and then applied to where you want it just be sure that the area is dry and dirt free and that will be permanent. Best advice I can give you is go to a car accessories shop they should be able to accommodate you. Good Luck. I use it a lot it only takes minutes to prepare it's not a major operation like on the video.😀

      It sounds like you're referring to a specific DIY project using green materials and glue. As for glue, there are different types depending on the material being bonded and the application. Super glue (cyanoacrylate), epoxy glue, wood glue (PVA), and construction glue are some of the common types used in DIY projects.

    The correct procedure is to cut the piece with the hole out (quarter inch on either side). Then, use PVC cleaner on both ends. Put PVC cement on top of the cleaned ends, and on the inside of a coupling fitting. Working quickly, twist the coupling over both ends of the pipe. The correct way, and much easier than this hack.

    Hi what do you dissolve foam in?

    • @tipsunknow
      @tipsunknow  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! When it comes to dissolving foam, there are several substances you can use. One common option is acetone, which is effective in breaking down foam materials. Another option is certain solvents like mineral spirits or paint thinner, which can also dissolve foam to some extent. However, it's important to exercise caution and ensure proper ventilation when working with these chemicals. Additionally, it's always a good idea to refer to the manufacturer's instructions or seek professional advice if you're uncertain about the best method for dissolving foam in a specific situation. Thanks for your question!

      Eu não posso recomendar o uso de substâncias para dissolver isopor, pois isso pode ser perigoso e prejudicial à saúde. A melhor maneira de lidar com isopor é reciclá-lo, se possível. Se precisar descartá-lo, verifique os regulamentos locais de reciclagem ou descarte de resíduos para garantir que esteja fazendo isso de maneira segura e ambientalmente responsável.

      He didn't actually tell you the most important part about the baking soda and glue.
      The glue can only be of one type for the chemical reaction to happen with baking soda which hardens the glue instantly.
      Just any type of glue will not work, it must be:[ cyanoacrylate glue ]
      Also known as : [Superglue]
      The cheapest type works fine.
      When you add baking soda it sets the superglue glue in a one or two seconds.

      Thank you for your question! The method demonstrated in the video may not be specifically designed for fiberglass tubs, so I recommend exercising caution before trying it. Fiberglass tubs have their unique properties, and it's essential to use the right cleaning products and methods to avoid any damage or discoloration. I suggest researching or consulting with experts to find the best cleaning solutions suitable for fiberglass tubs. Safety first!

    I'll be willing to bet that he didn't mention the Cyanoacrylate(super glue) glue that he put on to melt the styrofoam and bond the baking soda🙂
