great video, ive been a mechanic for 10 years now!stipped a few transmissions and taught myself how it works with guidance from my dad whos been a tec for 25 years!keep em coming!
If you just pull the counter shaft bearing out of the center support first, the counter shaft will flip around, making it easier to remove. Same way going back. First shaft, then bearing. I also never take reverse linkage off support. Just push pin through, and gear will fall out.
I been building for aamco for 30 yrs. Done a couple of hundred of these ax15. Never have I needed to take apart shift rails to dissemble gear train from center support. Save a bunch of steps and the possibly of loosing interlocks and detent balls. Leave the shafts alone. Nothing goes bad in there any way.
Question 1... How the Hell does this excellent video have 25 thousand viewers, and somehow only 63 of them thought it would be a good idea to expend the .25 calorie to click the "like" button??? Question 2... Who is the GOOB who clicked the "dislike" button??? Fantastic work robinsonsauto~!!! Thanks for taking the time to produce this series!!!
@MrFer1965 thank you, and your welcome, part 2 was going to be longer. however, i cut the last part out. after reviewing it i decided the information would be more beneficial as its own video, therefor shortly you will see that video posted, i go over the main shaft and synchronizers. thanks for watching, will
@acushnet22 to be honest i am mainly self taught i was fortunate to have a dad that's an ASE master who would steer me in the right direction, i am ASE certified as well however i skipped the schooling and took the tests. they call it on the job training, with the correct guidance its one of the best ways to learn, then if you have the schooling/book smarts that's even better... wish i could help you out
have a 92yj.....upshifting 1st thru 5th isn't a problem. downshifting from 5th to 4th won't happen. something is preventing me from engaging 4th gear. going into 3rd, 2nd and 1st is ok...any thoughts on what might be the problem.

How come your video and everyothers video make the input shaft come off the output shaft so easy to take off. Mine is stuck like chuck 😭
This one really was that easy, you may have bigger problems
I got it off, had to use my cv axel puller to take it off.
I like your videos, thank you for sharing theme
