    is this bad for a sti?

      It’s bad if you don’t get a tune, The stock one is perfectly fine for at least 400-500hp. The reason why I got this blow off valve is for the sound I want my STI to have all the turbo sounds😁

    Do you have to tune it after putting blow of valve ???

      If you don’t get the car tune you might get a check engine light, the car has MAF sensor that measures the air at the intake, if you add this blow off valve its not recirculating like the stock one, this blow off valve is to atmosphere. This means that all the air that was measured is getting released into the atmosphere making the car still shoot out fuel for that measured air

    My girl got one for me for Christmas, should I not install it if I need to drive tomorrow?

    • @briantoolive
      @briantoolive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can install it and run it, but try to get a tune as soon as possible so you won’t fuck up your car.

    Where can you get the tune for it? Is it something you can tune off the Cobb access port?

    • @briantoolive

      Cobb doesn’t support atmosphere bov. You will have to get it tuned at performance shop. Cobb tends to stay with recirculating bov for there tunes

      @@briantooliveI bought this same BOV and I have the Cobb Redline intake. I'm about to put a professional tune on it and the guy who will do the job for me says I can't put the atmospheric BOV on bc the mix will get rich. I bought that BOV bc I like the sound it makes but now it seems that it won't be possible. Any recommendations?

      @@GQR28 I mean the whole purpose of getting a tune by a professional is for you to run all the mods that you have installed. I would recommend going to another tuner

      @@GQR28they can’t tune with a bov unless you go full blown speed density. That’s the only way around it because Subarus run a Maf from factory. That’s not to say you can’t run it, you can it will run rich for a split second in between shifts, you will also get more pops in between shifts, if your tune otherwise is solid, the bov wont kill your car however, it will be a slight downgrade performance wise in exchange for the sound. It will also wear your car out faster due to the rich conditions.

      @@lucian7182 Thanks. Well, tomorrow I have an appointment with another tuner, according to them they can put the professional tune without the recirculating BOV kit. According to you, then that's bad for the future? The car is from 2020, it only has 21k miles and I don't plan to put more mods on it for now. I like to be more conservative with the EJ, at least for now.

    For one reason they don’t have BOV

  • @KingZD1
    @KingZD1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    did you do speed density?

    • @briantoolive
      @briantoolive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, just a tune to work properly.

      @@briantoolive hmm I wanna get the HKS BOV on my too but i thought you need to go speed density and then get a tune?

    • @briantoolive
      @briantoolive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KingZD1 To be honest bro you need so many things to work together but if you have a good tuner they can adjust those settings for you like a/f ratio. I have about 15,000 miles on it with the tune and the car is working fine. I think your best bet would be to call your tuner or the place you’re going to take your car to tune and ask them what you need because some shops are different. Some shops need more sensor to tune your car, inform yourself before doing anything👍
