Just bought one and used the coupon. When I started out working on cars are used analog multi meter’s back in the 60s. No pocket calculator I had the slipstick, ie slide rule.I’ve always liked The autell. I have snap on tools that I use also. But I couldn’t see spending $10,000 on a scan tool.

Be aware that Autel customer service won’t help you when you buy from Amazon
So it’s going back and getting a Foxwell scan tool instead
MK808BT is a great car scanner, love it！
Could you do me a favor? Look under dodge, engine, see if you can run the vgt turbo actuator calibration? I have called them twice and they cant verify. I do not know anyone locally with one. All the shops have snapon.

You also want to look for pending codes (separate menu). These are intermittent codes and they don't set the CEL/MIL until certain conditions are met (x numeber of engine start cycles). If the problem pesists after x number of cycles, the code will be set and the CEL/MIL will illuminate.
I always use by scan tool to reset the codes to see if the problem comes back. If so, I know I have a hard failure. A couple of times on different vehicles, the codes never came back. Two other times on different vehicles, the EVAP leak code came back - gas cap problem. Money invested in a goode code read will pay for itself after one or two repairs at the most.

Does it do the bi directional active tests like the Launch?
According to Autel, the MK version is a UK version only and may IP lock if used in the states and the MX version is for the states. Then they say it has very limited key programming modes.
MX is English only and MK has multiple languages thats the difference
A car dealership got me. The next day check engine light went on and it turned out I needed all four cats. Wish I had this machine then, over my standard code reader.

Whatever scan tool you consider buying, remember this: Some cars don't send unique data out the OBD port. All scan tools are required to send emissions related information. The rest is optional. Soooooo, if the scan tool can read TPMS data for example, but the computer doesn't send that data out the OBD port, your scan tool won't help.
I have the Altel MK808 could you do a Video on reprograming the personalized key number from a new Key FOB purchased ( My new Key FOB is listed as 256) Not 1-10 like. Since its listed as 256 I cant do anything with my present knowledge . I deactivated #1 and #3 - 10 as my key is listed as #2.
I thought "inc" stood for incomplete not inconclusive. Does it graph live data?

When purchasing this type of equipment from Amazon, has anyone had problems doing updates with the equipment not purchased from a north american supplier?
I asked Autel, and yes they did confirmed that you should buy it from an authorized retailer in the country from which you will use it otherwise you get an IP lock when it's time to update. Also they did confirm that the MK908 is an online sale only model which makes it international so no IP lock on it or any of the online sale only models.
Will this scan tool or the wired version, work on my 2000 ford 7.3 AND 2006 ford 6.0 diesels? My (pro) mechanic says my trucks stall out when his computer attempts to communicate with them. I think he uses snap on.
I understand this scanner works on cars from 1996 to 2018 gasoline or diesel.
I once followed and believed in you so I bought a Launch. Wish I would have never done so. That Launch was the worst POS I’ve ever bought. I would recommend everyone to stay away from Launch. Worst cust supp and it was not US based. All plz stay clear the Launch Scam…..
Can i us this on a 7.3 ford? Most of the scan tools i have found dont like to communicate with this motor. Always stalls the engine during tests.

It may not turn the car on but that extra key can still open doors....
It doesn't even have bi-directional controls... never compare Launch X431 with this backyard technician Autel tool (I have both)

Nbookie did you by chance figure out if you can calibrate a vgt with this scanner? Also do you know if you can relearn 68s with it and if you can unlock other functions for the dodges? Like my truck came without tow mirrors and didn’t have turn signals on them I installed new tow mirrors on my truck they have lights so I need to unlock the LEB & LEC codes to get them to work? I appreciate the info!
need to start a car channel .everybody is getting free pro scanners. Amazing. and we buy them and find out they have so many incomplete features and issues that nobody talks about. And, Autel tool cost just slightly less because it's only 1 free year update and after that is 200-300 to update. other companies have 2 and 3 years free.

IMMO keys functions including add a key, reset key and all key lost, but this functions don't support BMW, BENZ, Audi and so on advanced anti-theft system, it mainly work for simple anti-theft system, what's your vehicle?

@@peterbessette7630 maybe you need Autel MaxiIM IM508 which is a professional key programming tool.
MK808BT only can do a few specific Asian vehicles that have low-grade anti-theft systems, but IM508 or IM608 is a very professional key programming tool.

They wouldnt be able to access the interior to reset it because that key is no longer valid I would imagine
