I got one about two months ago. Reprogrammed a used PCM for an Acura TL for less than what the dealer wanted to charge ($1,150 plus $300+ labor). I bought it from Amazon, about $750. Registered it with no problem. Software and updates are good for two years. I hear that the updates are $300 for another two years after that. Not needed unless you have a new car. Works on my Mercedes and Nissan. Trying to see how I can reprogram an ECM in my Tahoe and change the settings in a Ford ECU, so I'm still testing. As far as reading and bidirectional tests, it works on everything I've tried (GM, MB, Audi, Nissan, Jeep, Toyota and Acura). I've only tried to program the Acura and Nissan, no problem but a little quirky. LACK OF INSTRUCTIONS IS AN ISSUE BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO MESS SOMETHING UP (some TH-cams are available from some mechanics but not enough). I'm not a mechanic but I have a lot of cars and working on them is a hobby. Will be trying to reprogram a GM in the next month (transmission module) in the Tahoe Hybrid.
I had the first gen Snap On Verus Pro blue tooth. Altogether cost me just shy of 11 grand. Damned thing was weak as hell on Euro cars at that time. What bummed me out was their advertising claim that this tool would replace the factory tools, which turned out not to be the case. I returned the unit to Snap On for tool credit under an amicable agreement.

Audi / VW uses a Can Bus system and is far above anything I had ever used. Ross tech makes the cable with a software license. It's expensive but nothing in the world comes as close to doing all the diagnostics for you minus the knowledge how to use it.
We have the strap-on verdict, what an overpriced piece of junk, battery failed after one year, its constantly freezing and its a full ten minutes just to boot up. The old red brick was a great reliable tool, so was our solus but it had no bluetooth which I have grown to absolutely love. We are on our third autel after many issues with that junk, we may have to consider this one for our next scanner.
don't waste your money, the problem with the verdict was the windows embedded. i personally use oem from each manufacture but have a solus for quick scans
I have bought several launch tools over the years. It's pure crap. I currently use a snap-on modis. I noticed the scan took he showed was the old snap-on brick. Ok for the time, 20 years ago. I'm not saying that the modis doesn't have some problems, but it is the best all around scan tool. Tell me, who among u can afford every factory scan tool with updates?
I have used this tool and tried a couple other launch tools on loan from matco. I was not pleased with any of them. Several errors and many bi-directional controls just didn't work. The chinese to english translation wasn't great either. Modis serves 90% of my needs.

Does this scanner bleed abs, calibration on leveling system, and will it allow u to change the factory tpms psi settings for different tires with increased psi like the snap on does
Nothing here to suggest that Snap On are not still the best, my Vident iAuto 702 Pro is pretty good but it needed a Snap On to clear something that the Vident couldnt, fwiw it was an ECU learn on a 2015 Insignia that just went into limp mode. Snap On all day but just too expensive for joe public

$2700-$3700 for this scan tool? My 03 7.3 PSD I bought was less than the scan tool. Do not get me wrong, if you turn wrenches for a living you need high speed, low drag tools to make work less like work. However, three and a half months of mortgage for a tool to diagnose just one of my vehicles (yes I know it does more than just PSDs, but that is all I need this for) is steep. More power to those who have that kind of cash just sitting around but it is too rich for my blood - we be po out here because of Bidenflation.

Launch does not honour it's warranty. After my launch loaded a multitude of faults into my clients vehicle I emailed the support desk and then realised there warranty is rubbish
Can this scanner or the newer larger launch graph the live data. Haven't seen anybody show or even mention that capability(except for short segment on a cylinder balance test.
Would this benefit me on my 02 maxima with immobilizer issues. I had the car running great did some upper end work to it....new valve covers,coil packs ,plugs, fuel rail, injectors, intake, out of the blue a week before it went down it throwed a weird can bus code.... then out of no where it locked itself down after having a new wheel bearing pressed in the front driver side.....now it just cranks over and over no start security light stays illuminated I can hear the feel pump engage .....im lost can you give me some advice?

Cummins Insite for Cummins - hard to beat Diamond Logic for International Paccar is Davie Caterpillar stuff CAT ET Bendix has its own How far in depth are you shooting for? It costs some money to be able to fire the dealer. As it sits many mobile service guys are thousands into computers.

Great tool if you own a Ford, nothing but troubles with there cars. Maybe I'll give a pass on 5.0 Stang. Can these be used on modern Japanese motorcycles, the electronics on them today mind blowing.
Ross ironically I’ve spent ten years with the big three in fleet service and I have never had to have a Ford towed (even with the 6.0 and 6.4 PowerStroke). I’ve had Dodge transmission failures (Surprise, it’s a Chrysler), Chevy front hubs completely catastrophically fail. GMC transfer case literally exploded behind an Allison 1000 trans at 65 on the highway empty. Many blown small blocks in Chevy 1 tons at under 300,000 miles. GM radios, blend doors, air conditioning failures, dash cracks. Dodge interiors lasting less than 6 months before the plastic starts cracking and they rattle. A window regulator failure that oddly enough shattered the window. (Factory did it wrong - truck was at 35 miles) These days the whole fleet has gone to Ford. And dang it’s nice. F450-750 and for once all 500 of them just get regular maintenance. Haven’t made up my mind on the new 7.3L Gas pot yet but it’s the tester. As for my service truck: I’m still running a 7.3 Diesel Ford and I think I’m gonna pull the engine and tear it down to see why it’s still going if it makes it to a million. It’s had two clutches (in 878,926 miles), 8 sets of injectors, a few random sensors (yeah they do fail) an oil pump at 500,000 and a fuel pump. I replace wheel bearings and races with every other set of brakes just because I’m crazy like that and it so far seems to run 60,000 between sets of tires and 70-80,000 between brake jobs depending on how often I’m towing. Emission laws are gonna kill her before I do.

That's basically what I do l just diagnose and people pay well for a technician that can. Knowing how to use a scope sets you ahead of most.
Good shout out to diesel Tech round. I used the quarter trick on my truck from his video and it worked. Fixed my 7.3 . check engine light.

One of the best diagnostiicians, Scanner Danner, does not recommend it. Highly recommend his videos.
