First Impressions of this tool it seems very capable for your beginner technicians and the inclined DIYer. It seems to have good coverage with a low price and cheap yearly update cost. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Good unit! We have the mp 808. It has full bi directional.
I will stick with launch and topdon . 2 year subscriptions and they don’t brick after the subscription
Nice unit. You have to "explore" the tool with various vehicles to see what they can do.
I love this type of video because I help guys on a tech line and sometimes have to direct them on how to use their scan tools which I sometimes haven't had the chance yet to use out in the field. Thanks.
Also a question-How is the Autel MAF data PID info changed from Lbs per minute to GPS? That's one that has eluded me so far.
It has to be in metric.
@@greggc8088 check out my video on the launch 431 pro3s+
I have the MX808 Which I was told is the US version and Mk808 is for overseas
The difference is which support number you have to call which is a rare occurrence in my experience that you need to.
Note to self: check if nastf got their way before I update my tools immobilizer function.
It's already imbedded in the software. When I first turn on my km100 or im608 I get a prompt saying I need to connect my tool to the Internet.
I actually believe it is Autoauth capable.
It is auto auth approved at least mine works with auto auth
I bought the @harborfreight T8 and regret it. It’s fairly fast, but doesn’t have topology, which I had hope it came with. Not sure why new scanners aren’t coming standard with topology. It’s an amazing troubleshooting assist.
They do.. You just have to pay
A good competitor to this would be the xtool D8.. Their pric3 has dropped from seven hundred, down to around four fifty now, for the "wired" version. It's hard to beat at that pric3. Three years free updates. It's actually really good at IMMO and can pull codes for it. They even added topology about a year ago.. has full actuation tests and over 30 special functions. and can do some EEprom (supposedly). So this thing is the one to get if you're on a budget, IMO. To get anything better, you have to sp3nd over a thousand.
Which will you recommend.. I havent decide which of these 2 to buy..
👍👍😊😊
What would be a great versatile scan tool for a mobile mechanic/ auto diagnostic tech
D8
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
nice bit of kit for the money 👍 but i tell you man if i had a £/$ for every time i have had a customer that has diy scanned there car fired the parts canon for £/$ 200 or more then it don’t fix it for me to say the scan tool gives you an indication or a path to follow but you then need to test the entire circuit/part what it needs what it wants and what’s missing i would be able to retire tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah hopefully a DIYer buying a scan tool of this ability is using it for more than just scanning codes.
@@autodiagyt or watch’s your channel 👁️
For $399 the launch crp919xbt is best bang for the buck in that category.
Have one. Great piece of kit for that price
I have the old x431 Pro.. and it's good. But I still like my xtool D8 a little better for most things.
Does it ask for a bunch of RPO codes when trying to scan a GM something? I hate that with the Autel I have. Entering the VIN seems almost useless.
That's every aftermarket tool except snapon. Even the factory tool ask that.
I find the tools seems ask the questions as the factory tools do as they are just a copy.
On Toyota they read the vin and then ask what year the car is just like the factory tool
After seeing this, My xtool D8 may actually be a clone of Autel; because it looks almost identical on most screens. Even the physical tablet is very similar, with the side grips, etc. interesting
I have an xtool ik618 and I wasn’t to happy with it.
@@autodiagyt I'm not familiar.. Try the D8, you can probably get them to send you one.
Chinese vendors selling on Amazon so you’re limited support and warranty buy at your own risk is what it should say
If you don't purchase a update does it brick or just stay at last update ?
It will just stay at the current software level and will lose an online required functionality which will be things like coding from online databases which this unit doesn’t even do. So in most cases someone purchasing this unit for personal use will likely never see an issue with not keeping the subscription current.
I have one. I am a 68 yo retired mechanic. It allowed me to check the cam offset on my 1998 GMC.
On my 2004 Sienna it allowed me to do a transmission reset. But no bi-directional testing.
It was worth the money. But it has its limits.
Also, you wont have ability to do new cars that come out each year..
What brands are the ones that brick if you don't pay the update
@@kevinobrien3063 none of the tablet tools will brick. They just won’t do anything that requires online functionality.
