    I was looking to get the 908 version which is the step above this one but honestly i think im leaning towards this one because it can do everything the 908 can with the only exception being the ecu programming (which i don't see myself having a need to do, ever). As far as i know ecu coding is probably the most your ever going to need a scanner to do and this tool does it. If anyone knows why the 908 is worth the extra money let me know. Thanks for the video.

    As a highly certified technician I must say I wish I started Aultel. I started with a basic snap on scanner and upgraded every 3 years because it was cheaper than just buying the update. I have used both tools. Snap on is faster in my opinion and the oscilloscope on the snap on modis is also faster. That said, I use oscilloscope a hand full of times a year. Aultel is better priced, covers more vehicles for scans without an expensive upgrade that costs a thousand plus a year to keep up to date. Smh... I spent to much on the wrong tool

    This is a great scanner. No doubt. But the Bosch scanner is $3k and comes with a fast processor and amazing customer support. It's also oem recognized which means Bosch will get specific updates from ford for example if needed. Its a lot more but most parts stores will finance on commercial accounts. Best move I ever made.

    We have one of these at our shop and I agree that you can do a ton with it, even the TPMS stuff. Our only complaint is that it's slow and navigating it can feel like you're stuck in a maze. I'm personally use to the snap-on scanner from my last shop and recently bought one. IMHO snap-on did a good job simplifying your vehicles options so they're easy to get to and saves time. I ended up paying twice what the Autel is going for though, so there's that.

      YUP but you get what you pay for, like insanely good customer service and one on one help almost 24/7 365 days a year. It's much more than just buying a tool. My reps literally given me tools before to do a job, name 1 other tool makers who'll do that! Mac Tools won't..

    • @raulr0813

      @@dieseldabz7104 My Snap-on reps come around like it's my job to keep them in business. With the way business fluctuates at my shop, I can't always afford to buy from them on a weekly basis. The quality is there for sure, but I wait for promos or until I really need a tool before buying off the truck. Its unfortunate but understandable, the service you receive depends on how much/how often you spend with them.
      Back to the scan tool. Keep in mind that you may have to pay for updates to be able to use it on newer cars and to use continue using many of its selling features. My Solus Legend is due for the latest update at $450+ or monthly subscription of about $75.

    • @raulr0813

      @@airs2k Snap-On updates scanners twice a year. You can either pay for each update or get a subscription that includes the updates and access to SureTrack, RealFix, etc. I bought my Solus Legend scanner 2 years ago on promotion for $2,400 and traded it back to them for $2,500 towards a Triton D-10 that includes a lab scope. So I definitely didn't lose money on my first scanner, and it was great, I just out grew it.

    I bough the Autel 906 instead to save a couple hundred dollars. It is the same but is tethered to the car, no blue tooth. In hindsight the BT version would have been worth the extra. There are many times you want the tool with you under the car or hood so you can do bidirectional tests and be there to watch the results.
    These are incredible scan tools. Probably better than Snap-On for euro. I believe the only difference between this one and their more expensive Elite model is the programming J box.

    From what I recall, the police mode made the car completely dark, with only headlights operating, and no brake lights. The headlights could be turned off by the switch and turned on by the switch, and the light bar and spot lights are separate, but this is on Crown Vics, Impalas, Tahoes back in the early 2000s. Probably by now they have all that from the factory, lights and sirens in the wiring harness.

  • @JD-526
    @JD-526 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I would think snap-on would love to have people see this. I'd rather stick with my snap-on verus because it has a 4-channel oscilloscope. Which can be used to test things like, Cam and crank sensors, fuel injectors, ignition coils, and many other sensors that require a minimum of two channels for proper testing and analysis. Also snap-on has other adapters you can get like a primary and secondary ignition pickup leads, an amp clamp, pressure and vacuum transducers, also the amount of waveforms that can be brought up at the same time that No other scanner can do. Also do your homework on how often the scanner has to be updated, because most cars that are new usually go back to the dealer to be fixed, due to warranties. There are diagnosticians out there that do own the high-end snap-on scanners and can diagnosed any problem with your car for probably about $100.00, like myself

      My Verus Pro helped me confirm that my PCM needed to be replaced. I used the Oscilloscope and back probed the signal wire coming from the Bank (2) Cam Shaft Sensor. The DTC indicated that the PCM could not detect the Sensor Signal. I saw a normal sign wave signal. This confirmed that the P0345 Code was valid. I installed a new PCM and the Lincoln Mark LT runs great know.
