I just thought Torch was the physical embodiment of his hatred of nazis.
Then again, I'm trying to explain the inconsistencies of a franchise about killer puppets.
It's more fun than complaining about it
I'd say that's a good theory ,in a weird way it makes sense.

Out of curiousty, do you intend to review Dolls? It's another evil doll film and it also has Andre Toulon's actor playing a mysterious toymaker.
Those human size puppets remind me of the aliens from They Live... which also has Buck Flower as a minor character.
I'm calling it. Same universe.
well they say _"independent"_ and I wouldnt exactly call Nightmare on Elm St and Friday the 13th independent by that point.

I have one major problem with his reviews: I've nearly watched every last one of them and won't have any more to watch, until he makes a new one.
Next to GoodBadFlicks, Deusdaecon is my favorite reviewer. He's very entertaining, and he is extremely well-versed on the subject of each and every review he does.
Great review. Those human sized puppets were very creepy they should have done more with it. Maybe a town inhabited by those things.
Maybe he made Torch looking like that to exorcise some demons from things he saw during the war? Or maybe being dead for so long had made him evil as you said and Torchs's pure evil design was meant to symbolize that there was no turning back?
Torch is his son. He hated his puppeteer father for always being on the road and turned his back on him, becoming a hitler youth and eventually a nazi soldier. Later, after chasing him with a flamethrower, Blade, I think, killed him. When Andre realized this, he kept his son alive by making Torch. Probably explains his look and weapon choice, eh?

The two life size puppets kind of look like the aliens from "They Live", but without the blue skin, and freakier eyes.
At 17:58 you can see the wire holding blade lol
But why puppets attacked their creator when he switched body to lifesize doll?
My best guess it was becuase toulon was more concerend with him and his "wifes" new puppet body rather then making more potion for them.
"I guess death changes someone somewhat." Or maybe that green liquid they used is Herbert West's forumla?

Just curious, do you plan on ever doing another HP Lovecraft month? Or was that more of a one-off special event? Tbh, I was never huge on Lovecraft before your reviews so I don't know how much material you have to choose from.
I've already started planning the next HP Lovecraft month so ill be getting roughly half way into the Puppet master series and then it'll be Lovecraft month to break up things.

There's two more movies of the Puppetmaster coming out this year and next year, which may be a reboot/reimagining.
the 13th film is a reboot of the series yeah and I did talk about that in the previous video.

I rather like that point at the end of the video when you pointed out the strings caught on the camera. I fun thing I like to do is sometimes rewatch movies and find those. Like in Killer Klowns from outer space when you can see the actor, who was playing a klown, picking up something and you can clearly see his real arm under his costume. Or in Ernest scared stupid when a window is being broken by a tool, but that you can clearly see the window being damaged or replaced before the tool actually collides with it.

The lament configuration was given to me by a mysterious merchant in a middle eastern tea shop and despite charging me a large wad of cash for it, apparently the box was always mine, or more likely this website www.pyramid-gallery.com

I can see why this series stuck around for so long. It's incredibly campy and ridiculous at times. Also, this review was amazing. Keep up the great work!
That moment where dude and girl connected even though it doesn't happen often you can click with someone you just met hours prior to you knowing them
yeah thats true but theres usually a reason for that connection and it make sense which is not how this film and many others for that matter depict.
You should do a review on species 2 cuz there is a whole lot of shitt that don't make sense in that movie

I nearly spat Diet Coke all over my laptop when you mentioned the strings at the end. I saw the ones on Blade as he came swinging in Tarzan style, but I didn't know if you'd mention them after going through the rest of this train wreck of a movie.

12:21 I just realized this now but that wrapped face tulon has. I made a mask exactly like that (with glasses-like holes) in art class 2 years ago made of hanger wire and a large amount of duct tape. I never knew about the puppet master series until now.
A similar coincidence with a faceless chrome Halloween mask (slender man) but I got some notebook paper and drew some creepy eyes and a large toothy grin, cut out the paper and taped it on the mask. Obviously I couldn’t see shit with paper eyes on the front of the mask so I removed it and it just had the mouth. (Yes I know it’s supposed to be like a one way mirror)
Fast forward to me watching mrs. peregrine home for peculiar children where there’s a monster with only a large toothy grin and no eyes.
I love the puppet Master movies haven't seen Axis though
The one and only reason to watch Axis, is if you're a completionist.

Dan McCloskey yes I will eventually be doing the saw series I can't really say when though as I've got quite few things scheduled currently, and I never reviewed the original crow film just because at the time I wanted to start with city of angels I might do it in the future though

I think Torch wears a kaiser helmet, so he's not a Nazi storm trooper, which might have been offensive.
Its actually a stormtrooper style helmet with the kaiser style spike.

I know Toulon's appearance is based on the Invisible Man but, it reminds me of Wonder Of U from JoJolion.
Why did the puppets suddenly turn on Toulon?
Not really explained, but i believe it because he stopped caring for them and was only interested in his own needs.

Torch is toulon son no really in the comics for puppet master explained it's his son the joined the Nazis after he refused to share the magic
ugh that dolls eyes look like the eye of that girl that was so stupid to put a dolls eye into her eesocket cause and I quote " she anted to have blue eyes "
All the movies holes are explainined in the comics
Shame they aren't in the film then isn't it, also the comics were made after the fact, they weren't what was initially intended because even the filmmakers had no idea where it was going, anything can make sense if you twist your brain enough and come up with convoluted solutions.

Here's an odd question. I got distracted looking at the bookshelf. There is a series (looks like 10 volumes) to the left of the first 3 Hellblazer volumes and right of the Authority hardbacks. Yellow series title, white volume titles. Anyone know what this series is? I can identify most of the books but not these. TIA.

Ah, many thanks. Not to imply I got bored with the review and started staring at the bookshelf! Heh. I just recently ran across your series of reviews and have been enjoying them quite a bit. Especially the series (just finished the Hellraiser movies recently).
wait why did the puppets betray Toulon? In the last movie their master treated them terribly but that doesn't seen to be the case here. so why?
I never cared for the Puppet Master franchise because I found all of the films to be terrible. I would imagine that some people like that franchise for its' campy nature. These movie reviews are entertaining to watch and that's why I recently subscribed to this channel. If HP Lovecraft month returns then I would recommend checking out the film known as Necronomicon.
Nah, it's the puppets. Ask most fans of the series what they enjoy most about this series and that's usually what you'll here. A poor movie series but an effective commercial for toys, I suppose.
I suppose that makes sense considering that the plot doesn't have a lot going for it since they can't even get the death of the puppets' creator and the film continuity right. I am a fan of the Chucky franchise myself but I prefer the films in that franchise that are straightforward horror movies. The most interesting puppet in this franchise to me is Torch even though said puppet only appeared in a few films. They actually used a rejected death idea from the original Puppet Master film in Curse of Chucky when Chucky killed someone by breaking off his lower jaw. It was a creative kill scene that I wasn't expecting to see.
TAhowardrocksx2 Me personally, I had a fondness for Six Shooter. That laugh along with that big ass smile always brought a smirk to my face.
Six Shooter was definitely an interesting puppet in the Puppet Master franchise since he had six arms and could fire live ammunition. Plus, he could also climb up walls and shoot people with accuracy despite him being a puppet.

I feel like your reviews have been so negative ab puppetmaster:/ this was my favorite as a kid, yeah they are bad but your missing out on what makes them so iconic & loved.
