  • I take my GX470 through pilot rock truck trail, to pilot rock ridge rd, down to Miller rd. No issues, no truffles, all fun.

    Looks pretty dang good going through that-- for STOCK... :) I'm buying mine out of San Diego- a place that has them ALREADY done-- lifted, waterpump/timing belt- cv boots, joints, tune up- etc and dashboard done already.. and I'm going to FINISH it with red dog bumper, winch, body armor, extra gas tank- tire carrier (hitch mounted). and ARB DUAL air compressor and 50ft. line mounted in engine bay..

      @@brandonnstuff5400 They do a beautiful job- and send videos of EVERYTHING- underneath - all joints- all work done before and after--- just a great place to deal with- and it looks pricey at first- but when you consider what they did- it's GREAT value for what they do- and will save me a lOT of time.

    Awesome video man! Just purchased my gx a couple weeks ago and wanted to know a little bit more of the lift you installed on yours, mine is bone stock any recommendations, thanks in advance!

      That’s great Aj, I’m sure you’re excited for your options. So for the front end I installed the struts directly from a 2019 Tacoma Trd sport, no spacers. For the rear end I removed the airbag spring system and replaced them with a conventional coil spring from Amazon. I have those springs sitting on spring isolators with spacers from a company called southern style off-road. There are two nitro gas shocks from IronMan 4x4 in the rear. Lastly, I installed the extended rear sway bar links to help correct the angle and flex of the rear axle. I was also pretty overwhelmed with all the choices available for the GX, but so far I’ve been very happy with my setup, and as you can see I’m my videos and in videos coming, the capability is there.

    Do you mind giving some details on your lift/tire size? That would be awesome!

    • @brandonnstuff5400
      @brandonnstuff5400  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sure thing. The front struts are off of a 2018 Tacoma Trd sport. They provided about a 2 inch lift as you can see in the video. It was simple enough for me to install myself. The rear is lifted using a set of conventional coil springs purchased on Amazon along with a set off coil spring isolator provided by Southern Style Off-road. The isolators came with metal spacers that are optional to use. As far as my tires go, I have a set of falken wildpeak 265/70 17. If you’d like the link to any I’d be happy to find them.

    This isnt pilot rock trail. You skipped the gatekeeper and the entire trail.

    • @brandonnstuff5400
      @brandonnstuff5400  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there. Sorry, you are mistaken. The gatekeeper is one of the challenging offshoots one can choose to take on pilot rock truck trail 2n33. I didn’t take it as I’m still getting familiar with the capabilities of my vehicle. The route we took was pilot rock truck trail to pilot rock ridge road and the to Miller rd down to the 138. Route 2n33 (prtt) does continue almost all the way to lake arrowhead.
