GX470 and Wrangler tackle Rowher Flats Trail

I get lost and intimidated while taking my GX470 up Rowher Flats with my cousin and his Wrangler.

I LOVE that blue-- but I'm too lazy to keep that dark color as clean as it needs to be AFTER the fun.. ha. I'm taking the spare out and mounting on a hitch mounted rear carrier- and putting an extended tank in mine to give 56 Gallons instead of 23-- and body armor to protect the underneath.. all it takes is ONE rock crossed wrong to ruin a pumpkin- oil pan- or your MUCH needed spare!!! (in my case- extra gas tank...). :)

As much as I HATE drones--- trips like this makes one NICE- you'd really get some good footage with a drone and someone to operate it for you..

Nice video .. how would you say the wrangler compared to the gx? I am considering picking up a gx or a wrangler (probably jk, non rubicon) for a weekender/off-roader.

Thanks Jonathan, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I would say the wrangler is clearly a more capable dedicated off-roader, with a great variety of aftermarket parts to make it uniquely your own. However, I have yet to be left behind by the wrangler in my Gx. The comfort is next level and the road handling is miles ahead of the wrangler. And as far as space goes, I feel the wranglers are pretty tight for long drives. But they are both great vehicles, and I cast my vote for the GX. Haha

Yes mostly fire roads, but some sections are more challenging than others.

@@HongCack I think it’ll do fine. Just be mindful of ground clearance in some sections. I think with a careful line, you should be fine. Do you have some AT tires?

@@brandonnstuff5400 right on man, so in the video you said it starts on the south side that’s the bouquet canyon side or Sierra Highway? Also what size tires are you running? I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous haha

@@shiinecorp hey there! Yes we started from the south side starting by Sierra. My wheels and tires are 265/70 r17. The trail can be a little intimidating at the beginning and end. Instead of taking the incredibly steep descent, at the north side you could take a fire road that is more gradual, so you’ll be fine bro. I’ll be hitting trails soon this month.
