  • In this episode I show you how to replace the rear lower control arms in your E46 in case the Copart forklift bends yours, like it did mine. Save yourself a couple hours of struggling (like I spent) and see how to do it yourself and save $1,300 (that was the quote the BMW dealer gave me).

Hello J , this is by far the best video that explains visually how to take out the driver's camber arm and I have watched lots of videos.. good job 👍

My driver's side trailing arm is bent also and they still did my alignment but think it went out of alignment 1 week later because trailing arm wasn't replaced so about to do that now no auto shop will replace it with part I bought 1 said 600$ to put new one in so going to do it myself.

I have an e46 that also came from Copart, and the rear lower control arms are bent in the EXACT same place. Stupid and unnecessary damage.

no. A trailing arm generally runs fore/aft (hence the name). A control arm runs generally parallel with the axle, and connects with the inner subframe, or directly to the underside of the body. Trailing arms keep the wheel hooked up under acceleration. Control arms control camber. Here's a youtube vid that explains the difference th-cam.com/video/sXkMu6PdiCM/w-d-xo.html
