    Love your videos, well done sir! Nice camera shots and well explained.
    Just small one correction, at 5:15 that part is actually called the "Driveshaft Guibo" or "Driveshaft Flex Joint".
    You refer to it as the "Steering Guibo", which is a similar looking part, but is attached to steering column and also called the "lower flexible coupling".
    I hate to be a nit, but some of us are newbs and might order the wrong part.

    This video was powered by Harbor Freight. 🙂 just picking at ya. I have quite a few tools from there and have no complaints. Good work!

    • @ShopLifeTV
      @ShopLifeTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, most of my tools are from Harbor Freight, only my specialty tools aren't. I started out with their tools and have built a whole business and everything with their tools with no complaints. Maybe when im much older with tons of money and want to show off my tool collection I may buy a nice toolbox and tools to go along with it. For work, I don't see the point in wasting thousands of dollars on overpriced accessories.

    This was really cool to watch. Just curious, practically speaking, why would one remove the entire rear suspension? Is it easier to do a total overhaul this way rather than remove individual parts?

    • @ShopLifeTV
      @ShopLifeTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Steven! It is much easier to overhaul all of the subframe bushings and diff bushings with the entire rear end removed and also a good time to reinforce the subframe mounting points

    Flawless video my dude. The arm you called the camber arm is called the lower control arm, and it’s connected to the piece you took off bolted onto the chassis holding your hub, that’s the trailing arm. Just helping u out with the terms 💯

    I recently drop my subframe on my 330xi and I had to cut the ebrake cables off to get the subframe to drop. I did remove the two ten millimeter bolts but it just didn't want to come down. Anything I missed?

    • @ShopLifeTV
      @ShopLifeTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Miguel Lara You might have some of the oem undercoating on the part where the cables go into the cabin which is what was holding them up. Usually a good tug or some cutting with an xacto knife helps it come free.

    this is encouraging no, I don't have any tools at this time so I got to have a shop do it. but it doesn't look like the job that I imagine the dealership who quoted me $5,000 to do the job which I think is bullshit I've got a BMW shop on it take it too and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the dealership specially when the rate is only the same or similar rate to a body shop was about 75 bucks. Great vid manOver the winter I did my subframe chassis reinforcement on 2000 BMW 323i manual. One mount had already gone thru. But I did manage to fix it. This vid came in handy.
    But my question is would a 330 diff fit in my 323i?. I can't find LSD for mine only for 330 diffs so I wanted to do the swap.

    • @ShopLifeTV
      @ShopLifeTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Paul Palacios Thanks man, and the 330 diff should fit, not sure if their are differences in the flanges where the driveshaft mates to the diff though. If you can send me a pic of your diff flange and driveshaft and I can try to match them with a 330 diff I have.

    • @ShopLifeTV

    Thanks man, I have problem in my e46318i. When i changing a gear from 1-2-3 and sometimes on 4 gear I heard loud deap sunf when I change gaer. the soun is from rear axe. I thing its a rubbers from rear diff ( one big at rear adn two smaller on front) What do u think? Sorry 4 my english grammar.

    • @ShopLifeTV

    I need to replace my Rear Trailing Arm Bushings on my E46 M3. Do you have any (or planning to make) any videos on that? They seem to only last around ~60k miles and my car's got 68k miles on it. I also need to replace the AC Belt and drivers side window regulator. Even though I just bought this car and I have to replace all that stuff on top of the fluids, I'm absolutely loving it. I saw your S54 swap, that thing is freaking awesome! You're channel has helped me learn about the E46 chassis faster than the forums have.

      If you're having handling issues like bumpsteer and your rear tires are wearing faster than they should, replace your RTABs. Same thing happened to me and I replaced them with polyurethane bushings. The process is simple but to make your life easier, borrow a BMW RTAB/FCAB puller from someone (I borrowed mine from someone local on M3forum). Im hearing a clunk from the back when i shift from 1 to 2 and sometimes 2 to 3 so i think my subframe and diff bushings need to be replaced havent had a chance to look but im pretty sure. This video makes the frame removal easy.

    • @ShopLifeTV

      +just Faisal Most likely your differential bushings, I was in a rush to get the car back together as I wanted to drive it to California, so I did not change the bushings. I have all of the bushings and plan on making a tutorial on that as well in the upcoming weeks. And I go to NCSU, residing in Raleigh!
