Best Ronin S tutorial. I've tried others for my Panasonic GH5, but this is the one that really helped. Here's a little tip for others that might help: I use a pencil to mark the slide on both sides of the gimbal motor, so you don't have to remember the settings. Slide everything into position and make minor adjustments if necessary. It's visible and you can always erase it if you need to.

Which in the case of when I use the GH5 with the Panasonic-Leica 12mm-60mm, means I'll have the plate attached further back in order to accommodate the lens support mount which reduces any vibration of the lens while shooting. At 2:03, that is almost exactly where I attach my plate with the 12mm-60mm lens. Thanks for your service to the community.

Well done!!! This is much better than the tutorial on DJI's website which is almost useless as they run through it. I'm still getting the YAW:Bad but I think this is a bug in either firmware or software. Testing on Sony A7III with Sigma A 85mm 1.4.

Great vid. Reduced a lot of stress. Had a massive issue getting pan balance to read as excellent. Turns out it was a firmware issue - might be worth including for people who are balancing right out of the box. Obvious and should have caught it but lead to a lot of cursing hahahahaha!
When running the balance test though the app - you need to have the gimbal slightly tilted! Otherwise your readings in the app will be off. This is also specified within the app!

Hi Josh , I have watched this video several times while I was balancing my Ronin. Viewing your actions made it easy to balance the setup. Now I wanted to place a microphone on top of the camera, but I can't get the gimbal balanced anymore. Do you have a good tip for this ?
I see that the cage you are using adds weight which makes the gymbal more perfectly balabced - without a cage, the a7s with this lens is too light for the tilt adjustments - would the ronin sc be better for this camera?

im having a real hard time balancing YAW :/ 6:22 when i do the app balance test it says its bad but i feel like vive balanced it to the best of my abilities im using canon 80d with the regular lens

got a weird issue.. im using ronin s with viltrox ef m2 adapter and sigma 18-35, and i can't go to invert mode. my motors are going crazy when I try to do this. any suggetions? got the lastest filmware, and got excellent results on balance tets on all axis.
Great tutorial! Everything was going so smooth until I was trying to balance the Pan! My camera did a cartwheel!! The motors are going to have to deal with that!! -__-
after i do the balance test and the motor power auto tune everything is still very loose and the motion footage very shaky. I've tried boosting the motor power and it helps a little but no where as smooth as the osmo pro with x5 camera.
Is Sony 7S working with Ronin-S? I found in compatibility list that Ronin-S works only with Sony alpha S7 mark II but you are using Mark I? Thank you for answer.
None. I have the newest software update of ronin S. When I turn it on the sony 7S is stabilized, but when I connect cabel between Sony and ronin it says: USB connected, nothing else, I cannot use any of features. Really dont know what to do, I alsa wrote you on insta and FB and I can send you photo or video. I would be really thankful if U could help me anyhow :D
Bro that 1/4th inch screws they provided no longer fit the DJI quick release plate? Did they roll out a skinny version because I legit can’t fit the 1/4 screw threw at all
I was unable to face the camera to the ceiling to balance it because I have an external mic mounted on top of my camera. I ended up just moving the arm little by little and then testing the balance on the ronin app. I think I got it now, but thanks for the reply!

You can adjust the roll axis more easily by lifting the bottom of the camera.

Hi, I use nikon z6 + adapter + 14-24mm (heavy lens). I will use it 90% of the time at 14mm. Should I balance it at 14mm or at 19mm (in the middle)?

My gimbal starts to vibrate heavily when I turn it on, even though the camera seems to be balanced on it? I'm using a Sony a7R with a 50mm lens

Couple times i get of camera without pausing motors on gimbal. Any possibility to fck up motors doing that?
