He crumble is meaning there is no hope knowing in drawing. Read between the lines not what this guy is paid to narrate to the world. Who in china they cant view his work. That the reason he crumble it. Now one home can see his work.

    • @fredfunn5413

@@slammerlo510 You are an idiot living in your own pathetic bubble. Barret's videos are also available on Chinese exclusive platforms, so both Chinese and foreigners can see them. Richard's grandpa crumbled up his own painting, because Chinese people are hospitable and humble at the same time. He wanted to give Barret a painting as a gift, but he wasn't happy with his first drawing. He crumbled it up and offered to give him a better one. Just because you are a pathetic little worm refusing to believe the goodwill and hospitality of another people doesn't mean people are actually like that. If that's what you really believe the world is and China is, I feel sad for you. Hope there is at least a tiny ray of sunshine in your sad life.

I am kind of understanding why his grandpa destroys the work after that. It reminds me some of my life in China back to my childhood. At that time I was practicing my writing, I wished to write something on a pile of paper that I cherished for years. Each time when I wrote down something I felt that was not “perfect” and I ruined until that pile of papers got less and less. That’s something about perfectness or not good enough to present something. More and more practicing makes the best.

That is what I said "suffering".If your students were in Chinese high/middle school, they know what I'm talking about. This kind of education brings a strong obedience and "manners" to authority, to parents, teachers, the government. If your students' manners come from their good parents and happy lifes, I'm happy for them.

It is good to see that even in a remote village in China, Richard is being treated and accepted though he definitely looks like a foreigner. At 16, he seems well brought up in a small village. It simply shows how much the Chinese are accepting changes in their surrounding. Barret, you did a wonderful presentation!

Most village homes are the ancestral home of the family name that can be traced back 200-1000 years through the village's records. It is like manor houses for the British peerage, but in China almost every family basically has an ancestral home and those that got wealthy working in the cities come back to upgrade or rebuild their ancestral homes to live when they retire from the big cities !
