I’m planning on traveling to Ukraine from America in a few months. Will it be offensive if the only languages I speak are English and Russian? I know most Ukrainians understand Russian, but it’s my understanding that most people don’t want to speak Russian anymore. Thank you!
@@Tyler.MorganPeople are different everywhere, but it's commonly agreed that you shouldn't speak russian in Ukraine publicly now (some people just don't care). Hi Emeka! First of all, my greatest gratitude for the courage to visit and support my motherland - Ukraine, in it's, perhaps, most difficult times in the past decades. Yet. I am glad, that despite the war you are treated very well with a great and open heart, just like all Ukrainians are. Heh, it was funny when you said acrylic :) but I guess now you know that it's cyrilic ;) Btw, I've lived in Germany for almost 4 years now, and I should tell you, that everything here is in German. I guess that's just how it is when English isn't the main language of the country. However, you are right, that for the tourist areas it would have been better to have things in English. BTW I used to work at the university and teach students from all over the world, your name suggests that you should have ancestors from Western Africa. Please don't be offended if I am wrong. Once again, thanks for the video. Definitely a like and subscribe from me to support. Looking forward to more explorations of yours!
P.S.: If you are still in Ukraine, you should visit my little hometown Uzhhorod in the west. It's litterally on the border with Slovakia and Hungary. So if you are planning to return through EU this could be your route home.

Thank you Emeka ! You sooo brave!! It’s many beautiful cities and towns to explore, but for now, stay in the west side, please! Go to Uzhhorod, you’ll be amazed!
One more thing, Ukrainian people don’t eat food with hat on.., it’s disrespect for bread (food) in our tradition. It’s nothing to do with you, just letting you know. Keep going!

Have a good time in Ukraine!
Welcome to Ukraine, enjoy your time but at the same time be safe and don’t ignore air alarms.
There are no alarms there It's as far away from the war as possible.. .right next to Poland ... not a single missile even flew over there
@@MitchConnor91what do you know? Missiles aren’t common there but they definitely happen. I know people who live there. Stop giving misinformation.
@halifaxeh I'm not giving misinformation... missiles do not pass there , that is fact ... there's no reason for missiles to go there... it's ded ass right by Poland .. there's no missiles landing or passing ... if it passes in one direction than Poland is launching them (definite no) and if it passes other direction Russia landing missiles to Poland (not happening)
@@MitchConnor91 "not a single missile even flew over there" I'm not gonna say that there were a lot of missiles attacks on Lviv, i'll just say that there was a rocket that fell IN Poland, near the border))
@keryaaa that was proven to be an accidental missile from Ukraine , killing a Polish man ... NATO even confirmed it , men in Lyiv calmly walking streets, they are seriously the safest ones in Ukraine and believe it or not good amount of people there are pro Russia , it's very mixed there , especially many of the Hungarians that live there
What a brave soul ❤ Thank you, Emeka for visiting Ukraine and sharing your journey!
I was so excited when I saw something like that about my country. Enjoy, browski! 😊🤝🏻
man? u so friendly and easygoing, i love people like u, got satisfaction from watching video. Wish u luck!
Ohhh, this video is so soulful 🤩It makes my day and gives me those memories, because right now I'm in exile in clowdy Holland (originally from Dnipro) I would definitely hang with this guy a bit if I was living in Lviv :)
If you go to Ivano-Frankivsk visit restaurant that everyone knows: Десятка (Desyatka) it means "10", well it's always crowded there, but maybe you 'll succeed. Any dish is tasty there, my favourite is: pan with potato and mushrooms, be aware: pan is served hot.
Господи, у 10 сама смачна заправка для салатів. Безперечно місце в яке хочеться повертатись погоджуюсь❤
Десятка - вічна
I love Lviv so much, my dream is to live there
Sadly my city (Kherson) is under attack and my home got destroyed so I can’t come back, but I’m really glad you went to the cities where everything is still intact and can really see how beautiful Ukraine is, I hope in the future after all the wars end you will visit again and travel to more cities❤
Cool ! But in cities near front line situation is different :(

My lovely city!! 😍 Lviv 🤩
I miss it so so much! 🥲
Thanks for the video!
Now i reside in Philly 😢
Hi 😁 I just saw your video regarding Lviv. It’s an amazing city. If you have time go to Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Bukovel, Yaremche, Mukachevo or Uzhgorod. Hope you’ll like it! Good luck and safe travel 😁
Yep, staying in Lviv right now, 3 doors down from that carpet covered Lada you show at 11:23. The food is amazing, the people are friendly and they love Americans. It's October, around 10 c, so sweater weather.
