I love how the spongecake doesn't offset the flan in anyway and pours perfectly ontop of it as a beautiful separate layer!! Wow I'm so impressed! I'll have to try this sometime!!
I just made this! although with a lot of stress since i wasn’t sure of the cooling period, whether to grease the pan or not, accidentally added 1tsp salt in sponge cake, etc.. but this cake turned out scrumptious! My family loves it and dare i say it’s the easiest cake i’ve made so far hehe. Thanks a lot for this recipe my love! ♥️
Hi @@ayam9852, yes i did. Greased with a bit of butter and dusted with flour. However, when i flipped the cake, the caramel top looked splotchy due to the greased pan. So i think in order to achieve a clean surface look on the cake, you may omit this step. Happy trying! 😊

I have a question- I noticed the cake seemed huge coming out of the oven, did it shrink down when it cooled or did you trim it off? it did shrink because chiffon is supposed to be inverted right after baking but since this cake has chiffon base and there is a flan at the bottom you cant invert right after baking costhe flan has a tendency of cracking sincecit is still hot fresh from the oven.

I have tried making this twice and the sponge cake part just doesn't rise for me. The first time, I used cake flour instead of AP flour so that was my fault. Second time, I followed the recipe as it was written and the cake came out flat as well. Not fluffy like in the video. The top got brown fast too, so I had to cover it with foil before it burnt. Cake tastes good. I just can't get it to rise. 😔
Maybe the baking powder is already expired or you overmixed batter and meringue. When folding the batter and meringue, it should be done gently and avoid overmixing, otherwise, it will deflate

Put cream of tartar in the meringue 1/2 teaspoon
Add 1/2 TEASPOON OF CREAM OF TARTAR IN MERINGUE
Have one in oven now. I'll see how it turns🙏
