I'm a brazilian viewer, and i can assure you, bribe and bureaucracy are the only stuff that works 100% of the time here. In most cases, government is not going to let you reposes or buy such a car; they would rather throw the car in a warehouse (best case scenario) and let the car sit for years and years.. that's why you can easily find heavily modified cars, exotic cars, antique cars, all just chilling and being destroyed
The history of this Carrera GT: some company tried to import 1 Carrera GT, 1 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 2007, 2 Porsche 911 (997), 1 Toyota FJ Cruiser and 1 Mustang GT Cabriolet. When it arrived in Brazil, the federal revenue saw that the cars were "used". The Brazilian legislation only allows the importation of new cars or classic cars with more than 30 years, regardless of the mileage, but rather if there was a previous owner. They searched the history of cars, found that the dealer in the USA was only authorized to sell used cars, so technically all 6 cars are used. In addition, they found that the Carrera GT had 6 previous owners before being imported to Brazil, despite having only 206 miles. The government seized the cars in 2010, in 2012 the cars went to auction, with an initial bid of R$371,000.00 (US$93,000.00) in Lamborghini and R$185,000.00 (US$46,250.00) in the Carrera GT (this does not meaning, but ok). Before the start of the auction, the company that made the illegal importation of the cars appealed the court's decision and a new judicial battle began. It is not known how the cars are now and their legal situation. The Porsches and Lamborghini came with a white protective film. A curiosity: if I'm not mistaken, there are 4 units of the Carrera GT in Brazil. Sorry for my english :P

Carrera GT for $3k ??? First of all, you wouldn't have to bribe a single person, but dozens of people to get those cars out of the warehouse and it wouldn't cost just 3k dollars. Second: Brazilian media is on top of this story, specially car websites and Instagram pages. Third: If these cars go missing the media would announce to the public immediately and a couple of people involved would get arrested. Fourth: This involves federal authorities and Brazilian Customs. If Brazil is competent in something, that's at collecting taxes (spending the money properly and honestly is another story)!

I thought it would disappear by changing the whole interior with that from a wrecker(2000 guilders)and using all kinds of sprays....but NO.....I had to sell it (sold it for 12500 guilders!! so a nice little profit).
Thinking about that smell still 'till this day gives me the creeps and makes me sick to my stomache.
I understand that nowadays there is a market full of special cleaners and so on but in those days (early 80s) all we had was Febreze like stuff and household cleaners.
😂😂😂
Be careful Ed, it's a trap!
It's a sad state of affairs when you can't bribe a South American official to get a car out of the country, what's become of our world?
Mike Rubner right lol 😂
12 minute long clip yup that’s gota be Ed...hey whatta you know 😂😂 Ed’s the man
Yes I do want a Carrera GT for $3k. Now hand me the damn keys.
Brasilzao de qualidade aparecendo no vinwiki 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Quem me dera um carrera gt por 12k ein
These cars are going to auction on June 18th, the minimum bid for the porsche is around $37k
Vamos ver, acho q o destino do CGT e da Murcielago vai ser no exterior, só se o valor do leilão terminar em 2-3 milhões, ai eu apostaria em algum.BR ter pego
I still don't understand how you aren't to 1M yet. These videos are so cool and interesting.
I've never clicked on a video quicker
Alex Durkin Lmao, same.
Took me two two days lol
Carrera GT for $3k ??? First of all, you wouldn't have to bribe a single person, but dozens of people to get those cars out of the warehouse and it wouldn't cost just 3k dollars. Second: Brazilian media is on top of this story, specially car websites and Instagram pages. Third: If these cars go missing the media would announce to the public immediately and a couple of people involved would get arrested. Fourth: This involves federal authorities and Brazilian Customs. If Brazil is competent in something, that's at collecting taxes (spending the money properly and honestly is another story)!
*Ed for President*
Make America Shrewd Again
I have to say some of the best car stories are about the cars you don't get to buy or the ones that get away
Its actually going for auction next month. Starting bid is around $38k.
*There will be a large pile of fresh skulls and empty Money suitcases behind the Fake Auction Building. Ed's gonna end up on "Best-Gore" one day if he's not careful.*
I live in the city where both cars are held... Cuiabá-MT ... another interesting fact...is that even F1 Racing Champion Nelson Piquet came here to participate on the auction... now is the third time, but always the justice stop the auction for some reason...
Am I the only one that wonders what Ed would look like with a mullet?
I'm just going to leave this here: I think Ed Bolian would make the most epic "easter egg cameo" ever in the next Fast and Furious release.
Great story Ed! Imagine how many more stories would have been created if you ended up buying these cars 😂
Ed Bolian: Single handedly changing the American English pronunciation of "Car" [Koar]
There had been NO title issued.. It had a MSO Manufacturers Statement of Origin..
The Carrera is up in auction this month. I saw it yesterday...

This is my favorite car story so far. Rabbit has some great stories too, but this is gold.
7:25 - You didn't blur the name of the person you were emailing.
You are too honest Ed , This would have made a great TV yarn..shame it ended in a boring auction.
2008 was one of the most curupt year pf government back in brasil 😂😂 i know cuz im brazilian
Oh my.. I remember that year. Makes me glad I ended up in Canada.
and what this have to do with the video?
Thanks Ed for telling us what the third Jumanji story with The Rock, will be all about
By the title I expected a Tavarish story. But not disappointed to see Ed instead. :)
This guy is the best story teller of all time!
right now the CGT is going for about 38k USD and the LP640 for 63k USD... someone please call Tavarish and talk him into getting the CGT
ONLY Ed Bolian can find a deal on a vehicle half way across the globe. Shrewd Negotiation in its natural state.
Would be interesting if someone in the US obtain them and do a vinwiki story💪😎💯👌
This is by far the best story you’ve ever told.
I can imagine Ed, Rabbit, Doug and tavarish sneaking into a suspicious warehouse to try and sneak out some exotic cars
Your videos made me start to research cars and work on my own. Never had any interest until I started watching vin wiki videos. Now I’m obsessed. Help
“Not the kind of car you can just wash the paint and throw a battery in it and try to start it up...” BURN Sam Crac!
I was gunna do some research but now that they are being auctioned there is no way you'll get too good of a deal.
Now do one about the mexican McLaren F1 super interesting history
I'm from Brazil and this story is actually true. The CGT and the Lambo will be on auction next month, the CGT around 35-40k and the Lambo 60-70k
You dont know how the bid works
@@jorgerebello8238 wat
I see they've removed the wrapper. That move alone halved the price
It’s my birthday and I’m watching another Ed Bolian video can’t get any better 🎉
Tremendously fun mental exercise. Damn, now I'm mentally sweating and tired...lol. Great workout Ed...thanks
master story teller ed bolian bouts another wild tale of legalities in the automotive world.
You should have offered them "One Brazillian Dollars" in a George Dubya accent.
Been binge watching this channel absolutely addicted to it just so much fun
A guy in mexico bought an LP640 for 85,000 usd at an auction
I could not believe it when the government was talking about it, a fucking Murciélago for less than $100,000
That is so awsome to see you have so many fans from all over the world. You could of easily been scammed for 3-4k and never seen that car but its so cool that you have such die hard fans man i really love this channel and i think your a great dude ed! Keep up the awsome content and awsome collabs with other channels and creators!
Even the clutch is worth more than $3000
We need this in argentina! a lot of rare and special cars abandoned all over the country, specially in Buenos Aires because its dificult to mantein their insurance co. and their spare parts.
