Unfortunately those prices are the opposite way cars are commercialized here in Brazil. Any base mclaren starts over 450k. @@darios9797 Not a problem in most south american countries. At least here in argentina, police do not make pull overs, so you are free to drive around as long you don't have to legally sell the car (paperwork, etc). You could literally drive a non-legal race car and be fine. Pretty cool

The history of this Carrera GT: some company tried to import 1 Carrera GT, 1 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 2007, 2 Porsche 911 (997), 1 Toyota FJ Cruiser and 1 Mustang GT Cabriolet. When it arrived in Brazil, the federal revenue saw that the cars were "used".
The Brazilian legislation only allows the importation of new cars or classic cars with more than 30 years, regardless of the mileage, but rather if there was a previous owner.
They searched the history of cars, found that the dealer in the USA was only authorized to sell used cars, so technically all 6 cars are used. In addition, they found that the Carrera GT had 6 previous owners before being imported to Brazil, despite having only 206 miles.
The government seized the cars in 2010, in 2012 the cars went to auction, with an initial bid of R$371,000.00 (US$93,000.00) in Lamborghini and R$185,000.00 (US$46,250.00) in the Carrera GT (this does not meaning, but ok). Before the start of the auction, the company that made the illegal importation of the cars appealed the court's decision and a new judicial battle began.
It is not known how the cars are now and their legal situation.
The Porsches and Lamborghini came with a white protective film.
A curiosity: if I'm not mistaken, there are 4 units of the Carrera GT in Brazil.

I'm a brazilian viewer, and i can assure you, bribe and bureaucracy are the only stuff that works 100% of the time here. In most cases, government is not going to let you reposes or buy such a car; they would rather throw the car in a warehouse (best case scenario) and let the car sit for years and years.. that's why you can easily find heavily modified cars, exotic cars, antique cars, all just chilling and being destroyed

Here in Brazil we aready know about this CGT for a long time, and those 5 carfax reports that the car have is definely something that any petrol head would avoid. And by any circumstance the car wouldn't be sold for $3,000. The car is actualy going to auction and the initial bit is $37k.
That 3 grand was actually a scam dude. This is simply some idiotic story invented by some one that only knows Brazil by tourism cards. The car is impounded by the federal police and is a by product of a crime. It is not moving unless the government says yes. Some impounded cars by the customs turn into cop cars, but the maintenance costs can't be unreasonable. Some RAM's, Audis, Mercedes and other imported cars run here in Brazil as impounded cop cars

Here is the story about the cars: They were brought into Brazil illegally and seized because they were not brand new cars. They had titles before in USA. Our laws only allows brand new cars, delivery miles, MSO Title or a classic with more than 30 years old. The wrap had nothing to do with the car being seized. That is just a shipping wrap to protect the paint.
The cars were seized by the Federal Police. They are stored in a port warehouse and the windows were left open all these years. So you can imagine the interior condition. Btw your contact cannot trigger a public auction. Is going to happen anyway. The bids are allowed between June 3-17th. The minimum bid on the Carrera GT is R$147.536 (around U$38,000). Far away from your U$3,000 LOL.

O interior foi mantido fechado e está em bom estado. Em um grupo que eu estava circulou fotos do carro desse ano. Ainda estão em excelente estado (tanto a Lambo quanto o Carrera GT).

Hi Ed! As far as i recall the importers tried to get the CGT alongside a Murcie as a farm machine (to think about it maybe it wasn’t entirely wrong considering the Lambo’s history...). The CGT has been up for auctioning by the Brazilian Federal Tax Authorities a few times. At the date of the bidding it gets removed. Weird as it sounds a lot of people have tried to get the car but fail. Cheers from Brazil. I am a long time fan of your channel.

Hi.. I'm from Brazil and a huge fan... The thing about this cars is:
1) Both the CarreraGT and the Murcielago belongs to the same person.
2)The history is true.. Back in 2009/2010, the owner tried to import the cars, but did not succeed and the cars gets a Illegal Status..
3) The Government is trying to auction the cars for YEARS, but everytime the owner takes down the auction with a Lawyer and the cars never get sold...
4)The cars is actually not selling at Dollars, but in REAIS, our Brazilian Money, so 400k reals each is like a 90k Dollars per car (not a Big deal)..
5) The history in Brazil is The owner really bought the cars with damage and fixed the cars, then tried to import..
6)To legaly import a car to Brazil needs to be a BRAND NEW car or +30years old production.. Wich the owner tried to bring it like brand new, but its actually "almost" brand new..
7) The Government is in possess and the cars is locked at a warehouse, sitting still...

I know a guy with a 4 car cargo plane. He will run from mid America where he lives to top of Canada or the bottom of Argentina for 18k to pick up 1 or 4 cars. If he can land it at a airport he will and you would be surprised the amount of times a year that he does this in South America with no questions asked.

I remember one year when F1 came to Sao Paulo for the Brazilian GP, one team had all their wheels stolen out of the garage (it was the security guard), and another team paid $60k to book a floor of a hotel and their agent simply disappeared with the money.
Ofcourse that was more than 5yrs ago, so I am sure it is COMPLETELY different in Brazil today! 😉
I once bought a 911 carrera for 3500 guilders (Holland) it was only 9 months old but 8 of that 9 months there was a dead body in it......THE STENCH!!!!! I thought it would disappear by changing the whole interior with that from a wrecker(2000 guilders)and using all kinds of sprays....but NO.....I had to sell it (sold it for 12500 guilders!! so a nice little profit).
Thinking about that smell still 'till this day gives me the creeps and makes me sick to my stomache.
I understand that nowadays there is a market full of special cleaners and so on but in those days (early 80s) all we had was Febreze like stuff and household cleaners.

Technically, there are no laws requiring you to register your vehicle with the state. Yes, it may be risky where law enforcement is concerned. Only when other parties are involved(banks, insurance companies, etc.) that you may find yourself needing one.
Getting it out of Brazil would be the hardest part definetely, import/export are harder than woman on their period.
Thats the point. Even if you did get it to the US the guy who has the title (Presuming his car was stolen) could come out of the woodwork and they now own your car.

I'm a Brazilian living in Miami and me and my friends were talking about this CGT TODAY. What a coincidence!
That is because the IRS finally got authorization to send them to auction, that probably will happen in the next couple months.
And actually, it's more easy to buy them there and ship it to US than you been told... you don't need to disassembly.
IRS always provide the documentation of the cars sold and you could even register them in Brazil and send them do any country. There's a guy in Texas with a TH-cam channel (Carros de Colecionadores) that moved to US recently and brought his brazilian car, and was really cheap, like $4k.

The carrera gt had only 62 miles on it. The white wrap was to protect the car but unfortunally it was left outside with the window open and it flooded the carpets. Probably wouldnt be a good negociation since auctions in brazil are really burocratic and sports cars goes for way more money here than in the us
Just picked up a 570GT - Is there a display for the front and rear sensors? Car will beep but doesnt give a display showing where from or how close.
Its actually going for auction next month. Starting bid is around $38k.
