The thought of an airbag going off absolutely terrifies me. One of my cars has airbags everywhere, it's ridiculous; front steering wheel, front for my knees, doors, door pillars, side curtain airbags or whatever they're called and even those rear passengers get them too but I have them turned off as well as the passenger ones because I know with the noise of airbags exploding and going off would probably make me poo a little with fear. The embarrassment of doing a little poo really doesn't bear thinking about and so I never ever wear light coloured trousers any longer because of an irrational fear that should that fateful day when the airbags will activate after hard braking or similar.
You should see the original when he imitates, who I can only imagine is, an older Hispanic woman with the accent and everything. Ed is too cool and kind to knowingly offend anyone but when he said it the first time I lost it
The VinWiki studio set is the definition of sentimental value. Each item has an amazing story behind it which takes you back to that point in time when you look at it. Kudos Ed.

Happy newyear Ed, loved the story as always. Would love to know how the part ended up in Canada. if you find out how, another video on that would be awesome!
I have enough of an issue looking through all of the BC listings as a resident, here this man from Georgia is watching our listings even better than me.
One lesson we should take away from this story is "Never create a hole and wave someone through." Sure, you're being a nice person, but let's face it. They can't see what's coming up the road. Chances are, you can't see it either. I have seen accidents created from this very scenario in my 30 years of driving, and a lot more needless traffic jams when there wasn't an accident (because this always takes several minutes to get the person through to the other side of the road, blocking anybody and everybody who now sitting behind this hole.) The only exceptions I can see to this rule is 1. The "car" you're waving through is a first responder (police, fire, emt, etc.) with their blue and red lights on and sirens blaring (And you legally have to let them through), or 2. You're in the right lane and the car is trying to make a right turn into the lane you're in. Those are it. I know you want to be the nice guy and help shorten someone's commute a little bit, but DON'T BE THAT GUY! No good will come of it.
Another lesson is don't let insurance choose a shitty route. All the lines may not have been there, but the initial "right turn only (into the complex)" lane line paint is there in his old photo. On google maps 33.974493, -84.354945. I believe him when he says that whole crossing was used as a right lane for the upcoming light. That means the accident happened because he used the mandated route which looked good on paper, but in realty wasn't a safe right turn to be making.
Circumstance is interesting because it always has potential to turn a boring story into a great one. That's what I think makes VinWiki a great channel. Always good to hear an Ed Bolian story. 😁
I live in British Columbia and actually saw this on market place, i actually live in Maple Ridge. So bizarre to see it make it's way from my hometown all the way to Ed! HOW DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE BEST STORIES

Hey Ed, someone said you have the listing on the Brooklyn Bridge. I am ready to buy sight unseen. You could sell an anchor to a drowning man !! Awesome 👍 storytelling !!!
