Big fan, really cool to end up in one of your videos. On the topic of staking, I only did it for the stream content, and I was in fact chasing losses, but cut my losses after a good streak, thatt left me still down a good chunk, but not cleaned. So....Wilson, an avid flipper, was known for collecting any and all rare and expensive items he could, *get his grubby little mitts on* , one might say?
Oh man. Back when old school came out, I made friends with the top crafter in the game early on. All he wanted was to be the first to 99 crafting. So I bought all the dragon hides I could and he would craft me sets in exchange for the experience. I would sell the sets. At the time I was the only one in the game selling the sets and I made a tonnn. I was one of the richest players early on… until I was mysteriously hacked for everything.
Honestly at this point, because there's so much "mystery" behind them, and because Jagex refuses to communicate to me about security regarding how these breaches are happening, I think it's Jagexes' fault. Internal employees that hold the secret keys in a giant server vault smack their lips like coyotes over the black market value of some of the accounts, so they just maliciously sell someones' account details for $, Toxic Jagex Employee walks off with the $, the RMTer goes wild with the account abusing it to manufacture cannonballs for sale or some oddwhat second piece of merchandise while they just trade everything that hacked account has to their main standing in the same world, then the account used for macro gets banned and the customer that bought the sold keys from the Toxic Jagex Employee sellout just enjoys the safety of realised profits from his main. After much consideration, I realized in a security system where I have foolproofed my password and made an intricate phrase, that it was *still* bypassed even after making my password a literal hash itself, so it just goes to show that some Jagex employee is just "copying and pasting" the account details on demand. Whether it's greed or vice, I blame Jagex. despite their democratic polling system, they routinely fail to be transparent about how these things are happening, and I absolutely quit the game because the keys to accounts leaking is 100% an internal affair, and that's why I promote quitting that game to everyone I see playing it except if they're way deep into it then I just leave it alone. But, only a matter of time before that gets out of control. There should be no possible way that a hacker can acquire a specific 32-character keystroked password from a 32-character MD5 Hash then decrypt that just to get another 32-character phrase and still maintain confidence punching that into the password box at the Main Menu. I made my password so even if a Black Hat took that avenue, that arriving at a 32-character hash as a password would disillusion a hacker and make them think they sniffed and cracked incorrectly. But yet, here we are, and Jagex doesn't say shit about it so, it's *them*. Snaggle-tooth brits, dog. OSRS is the biggest scam in the videogame ecosystem and it's made by Britiain no less.
runescape has had multiple breaches over the years that botters got a hold of otherwise afk but completely secure accounts. mine was on an email that wasn't used for anything else, had all its security in place, yet was still taken from me while I wasn't playing(for a few years tbh) and when I came back and got it unbanned I had a shit ton of flax in my inventory and a single high level skill.

Crazy, this guy is still active on Reddit as recent as about a day ago. Can’t imagine being this guy watching this and reliving this trauma and nostalgia lol
This was a great nostalgia trip and a nice tribute. I started playing in 2003 so I wish I did a better job of keeping pictures and videos. As someone who started playing so early, I was a part of a lot of cool stuff that will never see the light of day. Colonello did a great job researching what little is on the internet and putting together a good story in video.
I was one of the first 5 people making ruby amulets and amulet of strength when os came out. I also got to making dstone ammies but it took a little longer to enchant them to glories and the massive profit margins disappeared. It was quite the experience
just a note, trim comp cape was almost never "completing the whole game" it was a big list for sure, but back then and even current day. its aprox 60% of achievments required to get trim. it leaves alot to do.
I remember the hack. This was around the time that Jagex decided it was a good idea to handle account recovery through twitter. He was one of many victims who deserved better.
If you become rich on RS #1 rule is to disperse your cash whenever you leave the games through multiple accounts or trusted friends, seen this happen to many richest players.
thats pretty cool to see him playing hearthstone chess and whatnot find it often times rs players do a bit of that, ive spent a good part of my life in chess haha
Couple mistakes: First of all, flipping is not merching, merching is long term investments (2 weeks/1month at minimum), flipping is extremely short term, like within 30 mins you buy an item and resell it for some profit. That's because both investments are completely different, flipping relies on purchasing items people want to sell quickly for some fast cash, than you pick it up at around 1-5% below the cost of selling those items again, you sell them to people who instantly want to buy an item to use it. The margins are very small, but the risk is fairly low and profits come very fast. Merching long term is purchasing items well in advance and holding on to them for weeks, months or even years until they rise up because of certain reasons you're predicting (upcoming boss, PvP update, PvM update, new skill, bonus exp weekend, etc.). Than you sell these items for massive profits, we're talking 30-10 000% profit margins. Also when osrs was first released, inflation was through the roof. You mention he bought a third age wand for 200mil and sold it only months after for 450 mil, but by than this 200mil would've been worth like 300-400 mil anyways. As more money poured into the game (mainly through high alching which requires time), and more higher level items got into the game, inflation skyrocketed. You only have to look at the price of bonds to see the inflation, and bonds were only released years after osrs came out.
Does anyone remember the goblin raids when OSRS came out like the first week or two ? Literally I’ve never heard anyone mention it and it drives me crazy! I was at the varrock east bank and a group of goblins came through the gates of the city with the leader yelling something and they became aggressive and we had to kill like 5 goblins lol. I know it sounds made up swear to god though it was awesome and I would love an update of having cities randomly attacked by monsters !!! Seriously great idea
I was ranked 1 on a Minecraft survival server for a while, I got rich by exploiting a tree cutting hack once I noticed the admins using world edit to exploit it, I got banned for exploiting the exact same tree cutting hack they were using.
I think I missed merching more than playing the game when old school first started. Flipping d bones so much I had every barrow sets, whips best gear at the time. Enough cash for full bandos when godwars dropped. A stack of d bones that by the time I stopped playing and came back to the ge update. I just got 99 prayer n sold the rest for an ely.
@@ColonelloRS I cringe so hard listening to how I used to sound and talk like. Sorry you had to put up with that for your research, but thanks for the tribute. You did a great job weaving the video together from the limited material there is on the internet.
More OSRS players need to copy this guy's example of being disciplined to play with integrity no matter how badly Jagex treats them and the game, and just quietly move on when you're not feeling it anymore.
Btc was the richest player to ever exist. He was the first trillionaire. And all his accounts got banned. And it caused 3rd age items to absolutely skyrocket because he had so many of them.
I was never rich or high level at osrs or anything but i lost an account around the same time to the same thing he did. I log in one day to see im banned for rwt but cant appeal or view the evidence since it was a major rule break?
I believe him.. I got randomly banned & not only was it quickly overturned but one of thier employee's logged onto my account & took all my collection of items & the money they sold them for over the years.. So because i basically have to get all my items back i just gave up basically. Spent years of time just to have someone who worked with the company steal my items... What a waste. & that was just recently last year i think. I was a paying member too & have played since the older days, Spent years of memberships even when i didn't play. Even though i was relatively poor & my states are now maxed its all hand done. Between Jagex & Microsoft they taught me valuable things, Like not to give so much money to game company's & no longer invest large amounts of time into games. Because you may care about them & But they don't care about you.
After seeing a few of these videos, it’s clear to me that since you can pay real life money for items, everyone with a good amount of money in it are having problems with “hackers”. And not a single one has been solved by jagex . It always ends with people having nothing anymore. I just think it’s jagex ripping you people off secretly. Looking how this company is one big shit show. There isn’t a single game that is truly successful by them in a long time. There must be something done under the table.
Wilson is not the one that real world traded his fortune.. if you look at the price and amounts traded of 3rd age items around the time he got hacked, you see a lot if not all of them dropped and they had 3 times more trades than they used to for a month.
Your remark on being rank one is a bit weird. Because while it's true that your rank depends on log out timing, it remains super impressive to hold the rank 1 spot at any time.
Don't worry, just listen to a guy insult you and tell you that you should get cancer and that'll give you the total biscuit experience. He was a horrible person and hated you.
I had a completionist cape in RS3, maxed in OSRS, and grinded like 15 pets in OSRS. There was no world I was throwing all those hours away for a little money.
It could be true but that statement was almost a decade prior to him being hacked, also no proof was actually shown on screen so could have been bullshit. I question a lot of the stuff said on this channel as it is mostly speculation. Also people change over a decade so even if he was against bots 10 years ago, he might not care as much anymore. Or he could have a different view point for bots vs rwt, like "bots hurt the economy but selling gp doesnt" or some bullshit like that, being against bots doesn't mean you're against all rule breaks That said it seems he was banned around a similar time as when mod Jed was stealing accounts so it is possible
To this day I don't know who hacked me, and it is baffling how no one has taken credit for doing it, so many years later. I don't play anymore, but it would be nice to know just for curiosity sake.

just a note, trim comp cape was almost never "completing the whole game" it was a big list for sure, but back then and even current day. its aprox 60% of achievments required to get trim. it leaves alot to do.
When the game first came out I remember looking up the top 10 herbalists on the high scores and messaging them to buy my bulk super sets haha
Love the content bro
The work in these videos is impeccable! I hope people are subscribing!
I miss Wilson, got decently close to him and the community he had. Hope he’s doing alright
I usually take off my expensive items when I go to the GE to avoid hackers lol
Thank you for the Borat segment 😂❤
I was sad when someone hacked my account and took my 50k Yew logs... but this guy lost way more holy
thats pretty cool to see him playing hearthstone chess and whatnot find it often times rs players do a bit of that, ive spent a good part of my life in chess haha
3:49 to skip the shameless ad
Just... Install the sponsorblock extension 🤔
😂😂😂😂 the guy woodcutting with a pick axe made me laugh so hard.
It's usually Jagex employees who hacks such accounts, or strongly cooperate with hackers.
so, gamble and rwt? nothing surprising whatsoever
Context: This ban and hack was during Mod Jed's era ... so tbh it's pretty likely he did get hacked lol..
@@MALICIOUSKO This is my guess as he didn't abuse buying resources from bot farms like the other guy.
@FPSzerogaming yeah I am sure he was an ethical dragon hording his items 😂😂
Now he's on an island stranded.
beware of organized gangstalking and remote neural monitoring
It always baffles me seeing inferior sponsor game ads on the best game videos
This guy sounds like a bigger legend than zezima.
Couple mistakes:
First of all, flipping is not merching, merching is long term investments (2 weeks/1month at minimum), flipping is extremely short term, like within 30 mins you buy an item and resell it for some profit.
A new Colonello vid 🎉just what the doctor ordered !
All of my accounts were hacked as a kid. From rainbow boots to party hats. Like 5+ accounts all hacked.
What's your source for saying that Wilson aimed to make 50k/trade and was successful in that? 5:08
Here you go :) th-cam.com/video/M_skmoAuF9I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sZrDIN5opVI1fXhX&t=481
@@ColonelloRS I cringe so hard listening to how I used to sound and talk like. Sorry you had to put up with that for your research, but thanks for the tribute. You did a great job weaving the video together from the limited material there is on the internet.
also, you can find out about how many clue items are in the game with the hi scores showing counts now
Did jagex accept and acknowledge his account was hacked and unban him, but not give any items and money back??
More OSRS players need to copy this guy's example of being disciplined to play with integrity no matter how badly Jagex treats them and the game, and just quietly move on when you're not feeling it anymore.
vid starts around 12 mins this dude YAPS
0:40 those are my accounts in the suits on w444 😂

Wilson I’m sorry (Tom hanks voice in castaway) 😂
He didn't "work with bot farms" and still got banned. Lesson learned.
So wait so someone who has weekness for gambling then proceeded to buy carboard crack yaaaaaa I'm actually kinda worried
I would have sold all the gear and bought mtg without hesitation. About that time people started investing in vintage as well.
Btc was the richest player to ever exist. He was the first trillionaire. And all his accounts got banned. And it caused 3rd age items to absolutely skyrocket because he had so many of them.
If you make such progress, worth 40k in real life you shouldn't get banned. They made the game & you put in the work
I was never rich or high level at osrs or anything but i lost an account around the same time to the same thing he did.
The ads making y’all show your face finally throws me off. Wasn’t expecting to know what NoSleep, Kemp, and Colonello look like in the same month 5:58
WILSON!! NOOO, GOD NOO! WILSONNN! I'M SORRY!
I highly believe that if he uses his trading skills in real life, he will he very succesfull.
“The ending will surprise you” no. It absolutely did not and was everything I assumed it to be lmfao
How did he get the 2010 runescape graphics for this recording?
]
When you have enough of one item you can throw the market impressive
I miss when there was a divine spirit shield.
13:30 this was just a very very elaborate way to diss solo mission
Your remark on being rank one is a bit weird. Because while it's true that your rank depends on log out timing, it remains super impressive to hold the rank 1 spot at any time.
Didnt they allow you to move your character to Old School RuneScape, but there was a deadline? Could've sworn they did that.
I thought they ended up doing it a bit after because people were pissed?
WILSON! WILSON WHERE ARE YOU?!
I have an Estonian friend who made 650b on the arena, he sold them for $0.95 ea per million
ALRIGHT, we're making videos on history of "2007-scape" aka "OSRS" my day has come. i quit. clearly been playing too long lol
WIIIIILLLSSSOOOOOONNNN!!!!!!! 🏐
Damn beat me to it
i think we all know the mod that sold his gold... >_>
13:53 seeing TotalBiscuit's name in the bottom left brought a wave of memories I wasn't ready for, sucks he isn't still around
I miss total biscuit
Don't worry, just listen to a guy insult you and tell you that you should get cancer and that'll give you the total biscuit experience. He was a horrible person and hated you.
Bro is into mtg. He defo sold it himself. Gotta make that power 9 deck
I had a completionist cape in RS3, maxed in OSRS, and grinded like 15 pets in OSRS. There was no world I was throwing all those hours away for a little money.
Cool video!
Wow. There should be playlist for the goats.
Sounds like this man needs an ironman
We need a community wide revolution to bring back Duel Arena and commission staking bc this game has become unbearable to grind
If the part about not working with bots is true, then I believe him. Probably a mod from Jagex stole his gp is my thinking.
Or he could have a different view point for bots vs rwt, like "bots hurt the economy but selling gp doesnt" or some bullshit like that, being against bots doesn't mean you're against all rule breaks
That said it seems he was banned around a similar time as when mod Jed was stealing accounts so it is possible
To this day I don't know who hacked me, and it is baffling how no one has taken credit for doing it, so many years later. I don't play anymore, but it would be nice to know just for curiosity sake.
love the vids
