We try to keep to the 80/20 rule and provide and give information 80% of the time, and then about 20% of the time promote our company to help keep the lights on. It's a balancing act, but education & value are always the top priority.

When I first started to grow a beard I made a view mistakes. I looked into the mirror many times a day to see how it grows. At first it felt like it gets fast but the longer it got the more i felt like it doesn't grow that fast anymore, but that was just because when there's no beard or at least a very short one you're able to see every millimetre but the longer it gets the less you're able to see the difference. So I decided to stop looking at my beard many times a day and just let it grow and just took a closer look once or twice a week. What I learned is it doesn't come over night just give it some time and don't worry to much about it.
It happened to me when i was 18 i kept checking out my beard until I got discouraged and removed it, and everytime I remove it without letting it reach the full potential.

Same here! I always tell them to just let it grow. Mine grew in slowly from the first year. After that is filled out and gained length. I'm just about 2 years of growth and my beard is past the middle of my chest and at terminal length

Michael hair had a life cycle. it's not a length, it's a time. you can shave it for its entire life and it would still stop growing and fall out. he didn't really explain well here but you can Google it for sure
It's true what you said about allowing the underpart to grow. I've got a strong goatee area, but patchy-ish cheeks and I've always been self-conscious about them, I started growing under my jaw about a month ago (My facial hair grows quite slow) but I've already noticed a huge difference.
its called an anogen phase. Hair grows and gets cut off at the follicle at a certain rate. that determines the lenght of the beard and the shed rate. but you put it extremely well in "normal" terms.
Why's my facial hair thicker/denser on the left side of my face than the right side? Will this ever even out as I get older? As a side-note, I'm only twenty years old, so it could just be the case that I'm still maturing and developing. Could it perhaps have something to do having had slightly increased sun exposure on the left side of my face due to driving on the left side of my vehicle?

My handle bars have decent length past the chin, but I've noticed the left is significantly thicker than the right. It's something only I could notice, but any idea why that is?

My moustache hairs reach terminal within a month and never grow longer than half an inch. Haven't touched my moustache in over a year and it's never grown thicker or longer. And whenever I do a whole face shave it'll take 6 months of trimming the beard before the moustache catches up
You never really explained why terminal length exists. It's not that the beard isn't growing anymore, but because its end don't get enough energy and break off.

i've been growing my beard out since last september. For the last month or so it looks like it hasnt grown at all. it may just be the length its at that i don't notice length change. But when i comb my beard a fair few hairs will come out quite easily and at the end of the day i'll always have one or two beards hairs on my top.
WOW This video was very informative! I always knew that the under chin area made up a huge bulk of the beard mass but didn't know it was that important. I'm glad my under chin area is extremely bulky and thick. Hopefully that area can make up for my average to slightly patchy cheeks.
Been growing my current beard since March 25th 2015. Hit six inches in length in August 2015... and it hasn't gotten any longer since then. Trimmed it twice, not losing any length, just cleaning the strays for two weddings last fall... but that's it. Kinda bummed, was hoping I could grow it long enough to braid, but it is what it is I guess.
I understand that shedding is a natural thing and that your beard reaches a terminal length, but what if you use Biotin? It's supposed to help with hair and nail growth but would that help the hair grow longer over the lifespan of that follicle?

Age is definitely a factor cause 3 years ago my facial hair would get to a certain length and it looked terrible, now I'm 25 and ive noticed a lot more length and its filling in on spots that werent even growing before
For some reason my stache grows at an insane rate. It’s supposed to be half an inch a month growth rate. My 3 week stache is like a 6-7 week stache. My beard is crap though very patchy and doesn’t really grow much on my cheeks. Win some you lose some 🤷🏻♂️

I have a super patchy beard and thankfully my sides burns have have joined to my chin hair/goatee, BUT only on the right side of my face. On my left side, you can literally see a half inch gap between the bottom of my side burns and my chin hair. Basically there is a gap just under my cheek bone between the side burns and my goatee/chin hair. Please help me, I literally just want the hair to join so I have a complete look and can at least be proud that my beard joins
HUH! I thought it had to do with how thick the individual hair was versus the wear that happens to it. Like the length of my arm hair in the summer when I'm not wearing long sleeves versus winter time when I am. Thicker, faster growing hair can get longer before the ends wear down versus thinner hair. I know my arm hair grows fairly fast (you know the common knife sharpness test), but it's thin so it doesn't get more than about an inch to an inch and a half in the summer time. Also, look at folks who have had their arm in a cast. The hair is protected from abrasion and can grown long and thick. It goes away a few weeks afterwards when the normal wear and tear returns. That's always been my theory, anyway.
I haven't touched my beard for around 11 months and it seems to of stopped growing at around 3/4 inches. Pretty annoyed because I've seen a picture of my dad with a beard down to his belly :(

Not to be contrary but I'm pretty sure beards usually do stop growing eventually. I remember doing something in an anthropology class where we drew what people would look like if they never shaved anything and there is an average maximum head hair length of around 6 feet, and I believe the beard is the same, although there are people who genetically do not have the stopping mechanism and can grow infinite hair (not actually infinite). I can grow a great beard BUT I can't grow a lot of hair on my neck. When I grow my beard out I can see my neck/throat through my beard. It bugs the hell out of me seeing through my beard!

Don't worry man I could not grow a proper beard in my early 20's but now in my late 20's it's coming in great and I have more control and styling options. It's awesome!!!
I took prenatal vitamins that my wife had for her pregnancy- i thought they were just the regular once a day gummy vitamins we always took. As a result i saw my beard grow twice as fast than when i would normally grow it out.

ELDARFIGO not everyone can grow a proper beard in their younger ages. Some people can’t grow full beards until 30-40-50 years old.... just give it time.

First of all, congrats on being able to rock a beard at 15, not many men can even do that so that’s pretty awesome. So, as for the connection, that’s going to be a matter of time. I have a chin strap beard that curls and is basicly always a mess, i tried combing it with the hairdryer after washing and oiling it too. I cant straighten it out. But what bugs me the most is, it does not grow well. And little to no hair at all on my cheeks or underneath my mouth. Its really only my jawline and where my chin meets my neck. I would really love to have a longer beard and more hair under my mouth on the chin and on my cheeks. Any advice as to how i can get it to grow better?
My beard has about 8 months of growth. It's now pretty long, I take good care of it. But it's starting to get grey. I don't want to dye it because my beard is red, black and brown.. it looks really good, do you know of a remedy to get rid of grey w/o using dye. Thank you
For anyone who might see this, how would one go about straightening a very curly and dense beard? The hair itself is pretty long, but it's so curly it stays densely packed. I've heard using a heated beard brush helps, is this true? If not, are there other ways? Or am I just SOL?
My left side grows about twice as fast as the right side. And the right side goes in all kinds of weird directions. I probably trimed 6 inch off the bottom of my beard just to let the front catch up.. Because it looks ridiculous with long neck hair hanging down and then my chin is about one-third the length. And from the side it looks like two separate beards. So lots of trimming over the 3 years I've been growing.

Probably by the force/weight the hair strand has on the hair follicle gland. E.g. the longer it gets the greater the force it acts on the gland.

I haven't touched my beard for around 11 months and it seems to of stopped growing at around 3/4 inches. Pretty annoyed because I've seen a picture of my dad with a beard down to his belly :(
Sometimes we hit terminal length at different times than other people in our families.
Don't get discouraged though, in time, it may continue to grow down.

I have 3 terminal hairs under my left eye on the outer corner. I’m tempted to grow it out because it grows much faster than my beard hairs and might even be thick like pubes.
Caner Eryigit this is too late to tell but its nothing m8 i too have like 1cm down in the side of my eyr (i mean the hair from the cheecks reaches close to my eyes ) . BUT i have on my nose too . Never shaved them cause unlike science says, (at least ) my hair grows bigger and thicker after shaving .
Within "normal" range. Depends mostly on genetics. Regardless, very impressive for a 15 year old! To give you an idea, I'm in late 20's and have some dark hairs on my cheeckbones, them hairs only appeared there a year or so ago, along with shoulder cap hairs..
Can anyone tell me how I can avoid split ends and damaging the hair? I've been noticing it and a lot of breakage. I also play with my beard a lot. Any advice would be amazing I'm trying to grow as long as I can.

Not to be contrary but I'm pretty sure beards usually do stop growing eventually. I remember doing something in an anthropology class where we drew what people would look like if they never shaved anything and there is an average maximum head hair length of around 6 feet, and I believe the beard is the same, although there are people who genetically do not have the stopping mechanism and can grow infinite hair (not actually infinite). If I'm wrong, someone correct me because I'm carrying this around in my head like fact.
I tried growing mine and it only got an inch and a half long after 9 months
I can grow a great beard BUT I can't grow a lot of hair on my neck. When I grow my beard out I can see my neck/throat through my beard. It bugs the hell out of me seeing through my beard!

but the age is an important point. my mustache has so thin and short hair but i am 20 so i am sure in 5 years the hair is strong like the other parts in my face.
Don't worry man I could not grow a proper beard in my early 20's but now in my late 20's it's coming in great and I have more control and styling options. It's awesome!!!
Im 30 and I cam finally grow decent facial hair.
I took prenatal vitamins that my wife had for her pregnancy- i thought they were just the regular once a day gummy vitamins we always took. As a result i saw my beard grow twice as fast than when i would normally grow it out.

Unfortunalely my neck hair grow very poor, my neck is full of patchies and the few hairs that grow are very short and thin, so i will never have a full and massive beard, how can i do ?
ELDARFIGO not everyone can grow a proper beard in their younger ages. Some people can’t grow full beards until 30-40-50 years old.... just give it time.

With your mustache as long as it is, how do you eat without it getting food in it? I'm working to grow mine out and it's at that awkward stage where it's curling over my lip. Would now be the time to start putting wax on it to shape it? Also, it seems like my beard has hit a terminal length of about five inches or so despite trying to grow it for several years. When I comb it, I'll have hairs come out in the comb so I'm curious if I'm doing anything wrong. Any suggestions for my dilemmas? As always, beard on!

First of all, congrats on being able to rock a beard at 15, not many men can even do that so that’s pretty awesome. So, as for the connection, that’s going to be a matter of time. Typically younger men don’t see the connection happen until they’re in their 20’s. For now, I’d say you ought to pick a style that works with your growth pattern.

Y did it grow longer than what it's reaching now?
I have a chin strap beard that curls and is basicly always a mess, i tried combing it with the hairdryer after washing and oiling it too. I cant straighten it out. But what bugs me the most is, it does not grow well. And little to no hair at all on my cheeks or underneath my mouth. Its really only my jawline and where my chin meets my neck. I would really love to have a longer beard and more hair under my mouth on the chin and on my cheeks. Any advice as to how i can get it to grow better?

For anyone who might see this, how would one go about straightening a very curly and dense beard? The hair itself is pretty long, but it's so curly it stays densely packed. I've heard using a heated beard brush helps, is this true? If not, are there other ways? Or am I just SOL?

My beard is only 5cm and it won't grow anymore. It's become its terminal length.
I shed beard hair daily and my last length was 8 inches. If I did not trim the beard (mine grow about 3/4 inch per month), it'd have been even longer.
6 months of growth and it's been at 2.5 inches for like 3 months
My left side grows about twice as fast as the right side. And the right side goes in all kinds of weird directions. I probably trimed 6 inch off the bottom of my beard just to let the front catch up.. Because it looks ridiculous with long neck hair hanging down and then my chin is about one-third the length. And from the side it looks like two separate beards. So lots of trimming over the 3 years I've been growing.
