  • Time condensation can help even the busiest individuals create more time in their day. Austin Zelan explains how hidden "to-do" lists and thoughts of the future can trick our minds into thinking we are productive. Condensing our time allows us to become hyper-focused on critical tasks and achieve more in the same 24 hours.
Austin Zelan is an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist. Throughout his career, he has always focused on productivity and efficiency, finding ways to have a more positive impact with his work. This has allowed him to simultaneously run multiple successful businesses, pursue his PhD, and serve on several executive boards. He has a passion to help others grow and achieve more. Austin currently coaches students from around the world to increase their impact, while decreasing inefficiencies. This has allowed him to help shape the investment space to become more efficient and more lucrative for investors. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Simply put: 1) be principle-based, only focus on the most important things of your life. Say no as much as you can and let go of small things, 2) fully live in the moment. No matter how many tasks waiting for you, focus on the current one. Every task completed give you positive feedback and recharge you. For me the hard part is to jump out of the box to do the important things instead of being chased by all the trivial things in life.

Great synopsis Cassie! One thing that helps me "jump out of the box" is realizing the negative impact of "not" taking that leap of faith. Oftentimes, the trivial things find a way to resolve themselves, so we may as well focus on what is truly important from the start.

Moral of the story: Let go of the future and focus on the present. Focus on present problems/opportunities while living in present.
Most of us have the problem of thinking in present state about what happened in past and what will happen in future. Simply put, we are using our time to think about time that has passed or is yet to come and then complain we don't have enough time!! 🤔

Thank you for addressing the biggest roadblock and daily challenge to follow the plan. It's incredible that you took a serious look at time in the 1st grade. It was a pleasure to share the TEDxDP stage with you! ~Yvette

The best way is just to shorten each hour to about 55 minutes... works every time!
