      In the Middle East if you get caught stealing, three times and you lose a hand. It’s amazing how effective that has been at preventing theft. In England some homeless people do crime around Christmas so they can spend winter in a free hotel.. aka prison. Food, shelter, tv, you know.. all the creature conforms.

    Simple, leave it on and anyone that files a complaint against him for electric shock gets charged with attempted burglary. Don’t touch what’s not yours and you have nothing to worry about!

      You cant be charged for attempted burglary unless they have evidence you attempted burglary! They could say they stumbled against the van!
      It wasnt explained that well but I think it only shocks if you open the door, not just touch it.
      That being the case they'll probably say they heard a dog howling inside, thought it was hurt, no one about, so took a look. No law against that!

      gbwildlife uk you pretty much summed up what’s wrong with society right there. Pretty sure you get a shock when alarm is on and you need to touch the back of the handle so you actually have to grab the handle, can’t get a shock from slumping or leaning on van. If you get a shock then you have clearly attempted to mess with someone’s property without their approval so you are guilty, don’t touch someone else’s property and you are fine. Innocent people get screwed once again, he can get charged if someone messes with van yet if they catch someone who steals from hi van then they usually get very little if any punishment. Who are we trying to protect in this world!

    • @sarahstrong7174
      @sarahstrong7174 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Set it up in such a way as the shock is exactly the same as someone would receive from a police tazer. How can they complain then? As long as it is set up in such a way as it cannot be touched accidentally.

If you had money or anything metal in your back pockets it really stung.....

    I fitted a ht coil and two ht gaps onto my CB antenna to stop thieves taking my antenna, i made an alarm that when set off produced impulses at about 5 a second from a 12v ht coil, through a spark plug to assure the pulse wasnt damped by low resistance... So when the spark jumped the first gap in series, it was about 50,000 volts, then a second spark gap to earth to prevent the pulse burning out the coax, rig removed of course... This secong gap only fired if the theif didnt touch the antenna, but if he did with the alarm running his body resistance is lower than the second spark gap and he copped the full 50000v jumping the first in line gap...
    It worked,,, very well, and even a cop saw it in use and had nothing to say.. Just like a static discharge but with a lot more current... And what thief will say. I got a shock when i tried to rib a van...

    It is a shame the police cannot do the job they are paid for and protect people and their property, that is why people have to resort to protecting themselves and their property, well done sparky.

      The police can do their job. What they cant do is find someone who broke into a van and left no evidence who he was. The same as you'll never find the kid who pinched the apples off your tree!
      Or you could tell them how to do it eh?

    Great idea, you could add some really high power strobe flashes on a ten second timer. When they get door open at night some truly bright strobes facing the back or seats will leave them blind for a few mins.

    Common people who are against things like this do not realise that items like this will keep prices down, keep insurance covers down, if the thieves break in and steal £2500of tools they won't hit one van a night they will do two or three, as these tools generally end up on car boots or in the pubs for quick cash. The insurance company will try and get out of it if they can, so this ends up with the contractor losing the money and needs the to do his job!so it will be a portion of his future billing to go to replacement of tools,. If the insurance pay out, then that means the premiums are to rise.

    Im an electrician and I would have done the same thing. You can use an electric fence device that has a voltage output of 8000 volts.....but almost no amps. Its the amperage that would kill a person, not the voltage. I have used electric fences on a farm for pigs and goats. You can tell it when they touch the charged electrode on the fence! They always give out a little yip and get away from the fence!

    No sympathy with anyone who breaks into anywhere to steal. Thieves deserve what they get. It's not a police issue, it's a legal issue, and the law as regards self-defence and self-protection in England has been idiotic for years. The simple rule should be: commit a crime, take whatever consequences happen, because it's your own fault.

    Great idea. In addition to this place an additional false steel door inside each door which is thicker than the main doors and removable (lift out).
    I'm truly surprised that van manufacturers have such a blind eye to this. Who would buy something like this? Would you leave £15,000 in a metal box outside your house? Thats what its worth if the van and kit goes! Put pressure on the van dealerships manufacturers.

    We travelled around SE Asia for 4 months, never had a bad incident ,
    Got back to fremantle in western Australia, next morning parked our old Toyota camper van, went for breakfast, an hour later came back to old van, unfortunately it had been broken into, all luggage, passports, bank cards stolen in broad daylight.
    An unpleasant time consuming costly experience,
    Phoned police but they were to busy to come, went to police station and made a statement, end of story!

    • @WhosAGoodDogue
      @WhosAGoodDogue 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup - that was my thought on the original video - Thieves will just carry insulating rubber gloves and boots. Pair of wellies and a doubled up pair of Marigolds and they're in. Shame, it's a damn good idea (I've previously lived in such a shitty area, where he neighbours would try your door handles and sneak in....so, I had my house door handles wired to the mains! - I put a sign up on both front and back door advising them of this, and not one person tried the handles. Was I bluffing? No! But they didn't try to find out either by throwing water on the handle or trying to short it and see sparks. Yes, it woud have probably killed them by electrocution, but at the time I was all out for taking no shit anymore.

  • @James02876

    One of those powerful UV sterilising lights, which can cause burns with skin exposure, would do a great job keeping the inside of your van, and all your tools, nice and clean, without damaging metal objects. Of course, it would be sensible to set it so it "only turns off when the interior is *lawfully* accessed." One must keep things sanitary in today's world, but accidental exposure when the system is bypassed by an unauthorised individual, such as a thief, would certainly be an unfortunate side-effect of such a system. A warning sign is recommended: "Caution: Ultraviolet Radiation"

    Well done Mr Taylor, i think with all the years it takes to collect your tools for your Trade and for yourself, then some low life comes along and pinches your stuff, then i think it's a brilliant idea. The Police won't help you which is why this type of crime is high, so why can't you protect your own stuff like this? so what if they get sore fingers or have an accident because of it, whose fault is it that they have sore fingers or an accident in the first place eh?
    Get this shock system Patented before someone else does, and you will be making loads.
    Stay Safe,
