All you say is correct. I certainly wouldn't want to have the gun problems that the USA does, but it is statistically true that they have fewer problems with home burglary and things like van theft, because breaking in like that means you could get shot.
those are basically shock motion sensors from amazon with the remote. the difference is the additional outdoor case to stick to the outside of the vehicle. one feature they could add to this concept are notifications that csn trigger events like email & text you an alert & maybe trigger cameras inside and around the van.
I did a high voltage “deterrent “ for a doctor with a soft top EType Jaguar, which had the roof cut open a couple of times whilst he was working at the hospital. He called me a couple of months later to disconnect it. When asked why, he said it was a wet night and the thief first tried the door handle triggering the sensor and firing the high voltage inverter. The man got a huge belt being fully grounded and was thrown more than a metre away from the car. Unfortunately another vehicle was going down the busy road at the time and consequently ran over him. The doctor was the physician on duty and had to operate on the thief! The man never knew whose car it was but the doctor didn’t want to risk it again!
When I was window fitting we would drop a door spindle through the top of the door. It would sit in the top part of the door and the frame. We also had a large security hasp on the back. Had one attempted break in the ripped the door handle off the side door, smashed a front window and been through the cab. However they never got in the back.
A blue led light is a great deterrent, like on the clifford alarms, I remember the lads years ago telling me when they were robbing cars once they seen the blue led they moved onto the the next victim
I see youve got a tool safe, good start. Peel and steal is easily presentable with hook looks in the right places fitted by qualified locksmiths. Fitting your own is not good enough.
With CCTV, if you use a Eufy Camera system it will alarm when it detects a person in an area of your choosing at times of your choosing. It would be an ideal partner to this alarm system.
Premier inn Totenham is rife, vans done nightly. Police and staff complicit. Ford makes about £350 a pop selling the catches they break doing it, doesn't give them incentive to make a more secure van
One question I would have asked the company is how unique are the key fob frequencies use the deactivate the alarm? It is trivial for criminals to purchase one of these devices and use a flipper zero to read the radio frequencies and be able to play them back. Or even reverse engineer the key fob radio signal to figure out the ranges that they use to deactivate the alarm and then simply create a flipper zero program to emulate it.
Good video! You mentioned dead bolts. This too is a concern for me. Where do I find deadbolts for my Van front doors? I’ve checked with locksmith, no luck. Thank you
Hi there, thank you!! So I don’t think you can get the dead bolts on the front doors but you can change the barrel like I have so it’s a mechanical lock rather than an electrical one. Pm me and I can help more maybe
Years ago fitting car alarms there was x2 system that were awesome alarm add on's being microwave and or ultrasonic witch you could use with convertible or soft tops without the roof, As soon as anything cross the invisible barrier being microwave the alarm was triggered. Cyclops alarms or Dynamco witch use to build the alarms for police if that helps anyone.
My response would be “oh I don’t know maybe come and act like the police or something rather than someone who is just taking the money and going after easy targets like motorists or people using hurty words”
Just looked this up thinking I was going to have a good laugh at the cost but it seems actually affordable. Certainly one line of defense that could be used in conjunction with other devices like pedal locks etc, that will stop your van getting nicked - but the alarm will help stop the stuff getting nicked... I like the idea of the warn-away when people get near it. Hmmm...
I have a new Vito van but never have tools in as I only deliver my furniture in, I’m really thinking of adding side door windows so thieves can see nothing in it, just don’t want my van ruined
Thank you for sharing about this alarm system. I would also consider professional thieves potentially finding ways to disable the alarm by simulating the key frequency. It's essential to have a deterrent in place to prevent such attempts. One approach could be implementing additional security measures that notify the owner if the alarm is deactivated, such as receiving a text message or email alert. This added layer of security would provide peace of mind, especially during vulnerable times like late at night. Addressing false alarms is also crucial for maintaining the effectiveness of the system. While sensitivity settings can help fine-tune the alarm's responsiveness, finding the right balance between sensitivity and reliability is key. Providing customizable sensitivity options, similar to those found in high-end dash cams, would enable users to adjust settings according to their specific needs and environment. Overall, ensuring the alarm system is difficult to overcome and provides feedback and customization options for users will enhance its effectiveness and reliability.
I had something similar on my previous van. They just covered it in spray foam, which made it much quieter. New van has magnetic sign-writing, so I can peel it off and it becomes a more anonymous white van. I fancy getting some signs made up with something like "Sanitary Waste Disposal" - I think they'd think twice about breaking in 🤣
Why not fit some metal chequer plate doors on the inside of the van doors that you can put a traditional padlock on. So you would have a second barrier preventing access to the tools. Surely they will just come with a sledge hammer and knock the thing off then come back the next night when your waiting for the replacement.
A couple of swings with a lump hammer will surely knock that off, and then once on the floor a couple of more swings to smash the alarms? What do you think, do you think it can be easily hammered off?
Looks a nice bit of kit. I’d like to see it with a built in SIM card and be able to send a notification to your phone that it’s been set off, I’m sure this is something the company will look at in future developments.
good thought. along those lines, I do think their AAA's battery useage design is a bit underwhelming, AA's would only make it slightly larger but definitely longer life.
if it detects shock it would be useful on the inside of the van and then cant be removed. Im surprised nobody doesnt sell a bolt on steel edge for the top inside with a electronic deadbolt into another steel edge along the roof. Im surprised van makers dont sell a workvan with similar already in place. oh they do. Reinforced Load Space for Master and Trafic | Renault Trucks
Acid to rapidly burn through the circuits, water & a high voltage battery to short the unit? Not forgetting the obvious antenna attack grabbing the remotes code out of the air when you lock it at night. Does the code change everytime or is there a preset amount in there? etc
Some out side the box thinking here! Why not change the van signage to something that says waste removal service or pest infestation control. Usually no tools with these! Surely you’ll rarely get business from signage alone?
And the problem with this is thieves do not care about noise they do it in broad daylight light now as they no they won’t get into to trouble but I suppose every little helps
But its plastic...whats its melting temperature? The noise could be supressed by some quick hardening or thick substance, foam or super high viscosity material like mollasses or tar etc?
@@sotaelectricalDeWalt did a demo for me… I was impressed. If you have two vans parked up and one has VanGuardian fitted thieves are more likely to target the one without, so as a deterrent it works! 😊

I used to work on the road and my estate car was broken into outside the house over 15 years ago. The police were not interested then! I have to use ear plugs to sleep now because any tiny noise wakes me.
I'm confused why no one has done a nozzle based thing for vans. In that when you detect someone is breaking in you either 1. Deploy smoke screen similar to the systems used in buildings to stop thieves 2. Deploy something else such as extremely disgusting smelling stuff/high marking Obviously you need maintenance but no one is stealing your van covered in cat piss

its a shame it doesn’t have a alarm alert iphone app for those times your further away from vehicle. Maybe they could look at that ? Otherwise great bit of kit
1. that siren aint gonna do shit ( based on typical car alarms that in general most neighbours arent bothered about) 2. the fact that it goes off by the slightest nudge will become annoying to your neighbours and during your shifts. 3. it will be the first target to break off. 4. they basically created a stick on alarm that doesn't actually solve the problem of how easy it is to break into the vehicle
Hi mate thanks for commenting, it depends on why the alarm is purchased, so for me, 1) the alarm is to make me aware not the neighbours, I wouldn’t rely on others, 2) I’ve had this for months now, no one nudges my van when it’s alarmed at home and while I’m working it’s not on, 3) yes maybe so, but it will sound which will hopefully alert me, 4) it’s not been designed to solve the issue, it’s a cheap additional layer of security.
Is there a van out there purpose built by the manufacturer to be extra secure with heavier gauge metal panels, with more secure doors, better grade locks and built in high security systems? Seems like there might be a market niche.
First rule of being robbed is tell nobody you got robbed. You're waiting for someone else to say "I hear you got robbed" so that you can ask "where did you hear that from?".
Alarms and cameras are deterents, thieves dont know who is watching, but if they know what your product does they will look elsewhere, Vanguard is an additional layer of security to deter thieves. nice product. I own a decent car and have had 2 systems installed, Ghost II and Scopion S5, even with the keys they cannot drive it without knowing the secret input sequence from the vehicles own switches/ indicators/flappy paddles, scorpion will track the vehicle and alert the owner immediatly if the vehicle is lifted, however gentle due to geo fencing. That life at present, If I had a van I would alos install Vanguardian as another layer of security.
I'll be honest, looking at the remote and the units inside the cover, these remind me of the bike alarm which are sold on Amazon for £14 to £18, now I know there is more to them because of the outer case which houses the two alarms and the to cover, but it certainly looks like two chinese bike alarms in a box 🤔 so it looks to me like a slightly redesigned two tier box utilising cheap Chinese bike alarms, I had one on my motorbike 😂
In theory you just need an electric fence strength. My neighbour parks his van in my double garage due to theft. If they trash your van that is a pain. But you can decant tour tools to any car and potentially still work. If the tools go thats £10000s of equipment and lost earnings on top. I work abroad so the agreement is he watches the house but has access to a garage. The garage has similar sensors. Dead locks everything.
If that goes off in my street you are more likely people coming out to help them rob the van to speed the process up. Loud alarms only work if you can hear them. Nobody else will care. In fact they will be very annoyed with you.
Lot of money and no different than lots available cheaper, its a glorified shed alarm. If they want your tools they will crowbar the alarms off one night causing a couple of grads worth of damage then come back the next night for your tools. Nothing better than a big lock that they know will take a long time to remove.
i take it these are battery operated,so what happens when the batteries run out? there is nothing on there site to say you can charge them. so does that mean you have to buy new ones???

All you say is correct. I certainly wouldn't want to have the gun problems that the USA does, but it is statistically true that they have fewer problems with home burglary and things like van theft, because breaking in like that means you could get shot.
those are basically shock motion sensors from amazon with the remote. the difference is the additional outdoor case to stick to the outside of the vehicle. one feature they could add to this concept are notifications that csn trigger events like email & text you an alert & maybe trigger cameras inside and around the van.
Seems decent but theres always a way unfortunately think they should just increase the punishment for break ins instead maybe like a finger or 2
Is there a version that explodes bright yellow dye (permanent) over the “ would be” thieves?🤔
Sounds like a top selling invention to me!
I'll recommend this to a mate as he has just had his van broken into.
When I was window fitting we would drop a door spindle through the top of the door. It would sit in the top part of the door and the frame. We also had a large security hasp on the back. Had one attempted break in the ripped the door handle off the side door, smashed a front window and been through the cab. However they never got in the back.
Alarms and cameras don’t stop stuff getting stolen. Locks and different layers of security do.
Alarm is a deterrent though
A blue led light is a great deterrent, like on the clifford alarms, I remember the lads years ago telling me when they were robbing cars once they seen the blue led they moved onto the the next victim
@@Thedar561 that’s interesting!! Thanks for sharing that!
Deadlocks, internal door shielding, loom guard.
Not the duff perspex pb plumber thinks is a solution though!
I was a small tradesman with minimal tools that I took indoors every night and I had a sticker that said no Jaffa cakes left in this van overnight
Wouldn't be surprised if a small drill in the right place would defeat this
I was thinking two pops with a nail gun in either speaker. It needs to be inside the van really.
One issue is the remote. The loop cracks in your pocket when you have a keyring on it
Dam, thought you was going to say the bottom button blows the thief’s fingers.
Thanks for the info and discount code, just bought a couple for my van. Thanks for sharing. Atb Shaun
Hi Shaun, no probs mate, thanks for watching my video! 👍
I drive a 2000 Chevy Express 1500. Manual locks. Pretty simple. I’ve been broken into 1 times, looking for a solution to upgrade existing locks.
When my milwaukee tools got stolen i rang the police & there exact response was " well, what do you expect us to do about it mate".. !!! .
Shocking mate, the police are useless
My response would be “oh I don’t know maybe come and act like the police or something rather than someone who is just taking the money and going after easy targets like motorists or people using hurty words”
@@davideyres955 I’m with you all the way
My reply would be, " well, what do you expect me to do with the body mate".. !!!
I gave a big dog inside my van
How do they work, Motion sensor? Earthing circuit? Proximity radar? And what happens if a strong wind shakes the van?
Just looked this up thinking I was going to have a good laugh at the cost but it seems actually affordable.
Certainly one line of defense that could be used in conjunction with other devices like pedal locks etc, that will stop your van getting nicked - but the alarm will help stop the stuff getting nicked...
I like the idea of the warn-away when people get near it. Hmmm...
It’s a budget option that when sounded may allow you to hear something is wrong rather than never knowing about it
Best place to fit a second unit is inside the van behind a grill, try and think when 110db is blasting in enclosed area……🤓
Good idea mate 👊
I have a new Vito van but never have tools in as I only deliver my furniture in, I’m really thinking of adding side door windows so thieves can see nothing in it, just don’t want my van ruined
Might be a good idea!
Great comments, thank you for sharing all this info!!
Yeah probably but hopefully it’s gone off and got my attention by then, all I want is this to get my attention, nothing else
There just hold a towel over it so you can't hear it then lever it off with a screwdriver
Looks a nice bit of kit. I’d like to see it with a built in SIM card and be able to send a notification to your phone that it’s been set off, I’m sure this is something the company will look at in future developments.
I will suggest this for sure!!
We have these on our work vans ,they are great
they should make a induction charger kit for it , so it does not need removing for battery charging , does it have notifications / sms ?
good thought. along those lines, I do think their AAA's battery useage design is a bit underwhelming, AA's would only make it slightly larger but definitely longer life.
if it detects shock it would be useful on the inside of the van and then cant be removed.
Be good idea if it sent you a txt alert or called you announcing theft attempt
Agreed
One man used a farming electric fence system to electrify his vehicle.
Anyone touching it got a non lethal but very unpleasant shock!
.
Mate a bike alarm does the same and goes inside your door ,
Can’t hear the alarms when there inside the van though
The weakest link is the batteries I feel, having to keep replacing them and what if they go flat just before a break in?
It’s not a super expensive security set up, I think cost needs to be taken into account, the perfect product would be much more expensive 👍👍
Electrify the doors and handles 😂
Would love too 🤣
Yes! Electrify the plastic doors handles,I think not:
@@lolorick5885 numpty! Most door handles are metal 🤣🤣🤣

Awesome, do you know if it will work on a all over wrapped van?
And the problem with this is thieves do not care about noise they do it in broad daylight light now as they no they won’t get into to trouble but I suppose every little helps
What if they can mimic or hack the key fob to disarm the alarm? Car key fobs seem to be hacked all the time.
But its plastic...whats its melting temperature? The noise could be supressed by some quick hardening or thick substance, foam or super high viscosity material like mollasses or tar etc?
A pickaxe handle or crow bar will also help
In Australia we usually park in a shed. Who knew?
Not many of us have that luxury over here unfortunately
DeWalt have these installed on their trade vans and they prevented break-ins when targeted at the Sandown Park Toolfair… They work, FACT! 👌🏼😉
I have heard this before!!
@@sotaelectricalDeWalt did a demo for me… I was impressed. If you have two vans parked up and one has VanGuardian fitted thieves are more likely to target the one without, so as a deterrent it works! 😊
Great video impressed is there a sensor you can adjust for sensitivity
Not only are the police not interested they expect you to do their work for them and even giving them clear video evidence they still do not bring charges, yet some assumed to be homeless guy not even doing anything except just sitting there not even begging you can find up to 10 police officers surrounding them even when that homeless person is not even homeless it was their assumption that the person was homeless, then told the person they had to leave the area or be arrested under section whatever of pace and vagrancy act, yet all the person did was sit on a bench to have a sandwich and a drink that they had just purchased, that was me in both instances, unfortunately even though i do have a mobile phone i do not always take it out with me everywhere or i would have recorded the situation, and yes i was being awkward because they had no legitimate reason to even approach me other than an assumption, they accused me of begging stating that's how i got the money for the sandwich and drink and that he saw me begging, all i said was bullshit i earn my money next thing chubby fucker called for backup and i was surrounded by literally 10 police offices searched without consent at which point they discovered i was not homeless after all and still told me to leave the area and not return or be arrested , just seems the police are more interested in clamping civil liberty than solving real crimes these days,
Does look like a great product i haven't read all the comments below so these questions might have been covered. can heavy rain strong wind hale stones set the alarm off. does it work on movement.
I’ve had no false alarms yet and it’s been through all questions asked 👍
I used to work on the road and my estate car was broken into outside the house over 15 years ago. The police were not interested then! I have to use ear plugs to sleep now because any tiny noise wakes me.
That’s terrible mate sorry to her that
Just ordered 1 x dual and 2 singles with colour match for van , thanks for discount code saved £22 on order,
Nice mate hope it helps you sleep at night
I'm confused why no one has done a nozzle based thing for vans. In that when you detect someone is breaking in you either
1. Deploy smoke screen similar to the systems used in buildings to stop thieves
2. Deploy something else such as extremely disgusting smelling stuff/high marking
Obviously you need maintenance but no one is stealing your van covered in cat piss
There is your dragons den idea
@@sotaelectrical "I've partnered with animal shelters to bring you PussyScreen, the cat urine based smoke system, I need 1m for 1% investment in my company"
its a shame it doesn’t have a alarm alert iphone app for those times your further away from vehicle. Maybe they could look at that ? Otherwise great bit of kit
Il ask them if this is maybe something in the making
1. that siren aint gonna do shit ( based on typical car alarms that in general most neighbours arent bothered about)
2. the fact that it goes off by the slightest nudge will become annoying to your neighbours and during your shifts.
3. it will be the first target to break off.
4. they basically created a stick on alarm that doesn't actually solve the problem of how easy it is to break into the vehicle
I don’t think there is, the reason the vans are all thin metal is to do with weight reduction, personally I would prefer a heavier more secure van
First rule of being robbed is tell nobody you got robbed. You're waiting for someone else to say "I hear you got robbed" so that you can ask "where did you hear that from?".
Good for all vehicles !
Careful, don't nip your finger will you😂
Good video mate. I'm watching it and I don't even have a van😊
Thank you sir 👍👍
How is it when by a busy road, windy rainy weather etc please?
I will have to get back to you on this, only fitted them last week 👍👍
How about a capacitive discharge system?
Shared this to my Facebook page.
Thanks mate 👍
But will the alarm go off if you go over a pothole while you are driving?🤔🏴
No because you turn it off while driving
Then I can bay one off this get remote and switch off your alarm ???
I’m learning a lot about different security systems so thank you for your comments! Appreciated!!
@@sotaelectrical not just commented but also subscribed.
I thought the same thing!
@@neiljarvis8911 I'm just being honest, that's exactly what it looks like to me 😏

Thanks for this Adam. I used to have the Vanolarm but the issue was it was installed in the van so wasn’t loud enough. Gonna give this a go.
Every time I was trying this alarm out it made me jump lol so it should definitely be a deterrent
The only problem with this is kids just setting it off for the fun of it and that will piss off your neighbours
Spot on demo Adam! Just bought a set 👍

Do the van vault/armourguards work? Are they solid?
They are solid mate
A tradesman in the Midlands wired his door handles to the mains but all he got was a warning from the police.
I heard bout this
In theory you just need an electric fence strength.
Thanks for your help 👍
Good one sir ..... Thank you. On the list .
Thank you sir
Also it'll go off when a truck drives pass the van too
That literally has never happened
Hi there... quick question. Does the alarm sound if thieves Try the front cab doors
If you put the smaller versions on the front doors then it will be protected
@sotaelectrical fab thanks you for getting back to me. This will ne my first purchase /mod on my van
@@leetozer4077 no probs!! Be warned though, they won’t be as loud inside the van
It does say on the site that you can replace them 👍👍
