On a Honda with no lighting equipment (like this), does the lighting coil have any function at all? Could it be removed without any negative effects? Thanks for a great video!
Lighting coil is completely independent of primary spark coil. You could remove it if wanted
How do you get a stuck stator off so you can get to the chain tensioner? Thanks
I'll make a video on it today. I have an ATC70 with ruined threads at puller location (Flyhweel). If you are asking about stator plate...Use something to pry it up ( Flathead screwdriver between case and under coil) like I show in this video series.
Is there a way to know if i have mitsubishi or hitachi flywheel without starting to dis-assemble?

Have you heard or had any problems with this kit burning out coils one after another? Or do I have other problems
Always a possibility. I did have a problem CDI on another build I did. I still use the kits

@@sketchydgarage I would reach out to the supplier and see if they can send a totally new kit or refund you if it has failed multiple times after repairs. Not sure what the culprit would be
You didn’t have to time it afterwards? And is this 6v cdi system supposed to make the ignition system more reliable?
I have other work to do on this ATC70. I did not check timing with a light to confirm, but since this is CDI and in its form there is no adjustability on the user end. It is all built to do it's thing. The manufacturer did tell me that it is designed to provide some spark advance as RPMs increase
@@VintageHondaMinis Great video! As the CDI has no external sensor, it can get the timing only from the position of the magnets of the flywheel. Could you check timing and it's advance with rpm some time with a strobe? Thanks!

The new design does not require a ground. Your ok
That’s great while they work, cdi quits and your done. Stator, Points & condenser lasts 10 years and cost 39 vs. $129 😑
