This seat fits the 350 Classic perfectly, Glyn. Much better than the single seat - the proportions are better balanced. And leave the rack ( maybe brilliant?) black to match the front light . You did a superb job on this machine.
Yes, it's got its own classy look going on though I miss the single look so aaaaargh haha. Rack is def better in black, will need to get the sandpaper out for that!
Sometimes i feel you read my mind and post the exact video i was looking for!! 😊😊 a fan of your work and super calm character!! Long live Glyn !!
Thanks very much, it seems like a very obvious modification if you like both bikes but just can't decide which one you want!
@@GlynOC does this mean that the bullet seat fits the classic 350 without modifying the motorcycle's structure?? Thank you for reply!
@@marcinkucinski5930 Yes, all you need is the seat, everything else is the same, including the bolts 😀
@@GlynOC thank you very much for the reply! Today I tested both models and I have a problem with choice because for me best choice for comfortable riding is Classic with Bullet seat! Thank you!
Looks very comfortable with the Bullet seat 👍 enjoy your first ride!
Thanks Marc, if it's not good I don't know what will be!
Wow Glyn, that really does work. I think it looks great. Always better been comfortable on a ride. You can just swop when you fancy a ride in bobber look, it's only 10 mins of your time.
That's a good idea, like Thunderbirds! Could have a whole row of weird add-ons🤪
Another fabulous video Glyn. I like the look of the seat, it looks cool. I love your channel and always look forward to a new video. You really do deserve more subscribers.
Thanks very much, hopefully it helps other people with their fiddling about and I can make all the mistakes for them 🤪 Always grateful for anyone who watches or subscribes, you're all mad🤪
Brilliant thanks Glyn
Today you taught us all something. I'm grateful. And I think these seats will sell out very soon as we all rush to get one. I've personally tried this seat on a Bullet that we had in our shop, and it's outstanding. Brilliant content Sir!
They're a super comfy bike aren't they, they're about £100 from India at the moment on ebay, unless you see secondhand ones. Thanks very much for watching, Glyn
Totally different bike now. With the bullet seat it looks more grown up, ready for a long ride. The low seat with rusted rack looks more badass. But, strangely i really like the looks of the bullet seat. Might consider on doing that on my baby blue classic.
Whow, and whow again!!
Thanks so much Glyn the builder
Thanks very much for coming back, always great tp hear from you 👍 It is an easy and quick job (unless you've got those bloody springs). I think the black or the brown would both look great on the blue, very grown up!
Well I have the Halcyon Green Classic and after watching this video twice ! have ordered the identical seat and colour for my bike. I had switched from the light brown seats to black touring seats, but think the dark brown suit the dark green bike better. Also when you see how much extra foam you get on the bullet set for me it makes its a no brainer. 😊
Would love to see the Brown bullet seat on your halceon green. Berry
That seat looks great in my opinion. Thanks for trying it out, now I'll have to consult the piggy bank. I have a touring seat on my 350 Reborn and originally used the Tiger Ness method to mount the springs but found the seat a complete pain to remove with a rack attached. I now have the springs attached to the frame but not to the seat. The seat bolts just sit inside the spring top holes and stop the springs moving about. So far no problems and getting the seat off is much easier.
Thanks very much, that sounds like a good method, I'll try that if it goes back on because those springs are an utter ballache 🤪
I love the look, didn't think I would. But i do so much I've order one, thank you so much for trying things we all thought about
Snap so have I 😂
You are so welcome!
Comfort comes first the older we get, Jury is still out with this addition for me Glyn probably due to my preference for a single seat, I also had the lowrider seat and have resorted back to the stock seat due to one hour of riding killing my derrière, I await your test ride sir, keep up the good work........
Thanks for watching, yes I know what you mean but when I saw it today in the workshop I thought it looked quite nice so maybe it'll stay, I've started looking at bags now.......
I like it a lot. I've been wondering about doing this for a while, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video! I shared a link on my 350 Facebook page.
Thanks very much, what's the name of your page?
Bodgery! 😊 great word Glyn. 👏
Expect nothing less! or more....
Lovely to see the rear rack back, but since you now have a rusty Bullet you will have to beware the Geneva Convention. The bike looks superb Glynn
Thanks Charles, I think we're well past war crimes already with this one! I'm beginning to think it has it's own spirit which makes me do what it wants 🤪
Looks very nice that seat Glyn , well done 👏
Although it looks good whatever style you go for , thats what i like about the Royal Enfields , there a bike you can twiddle around with , with lots of options available 😀.
Great 👍 👌
They're like big toys really, Royal Enfield are very pragmatic and like to make everything cross compatible. The parts are such good value it's easy to play around too, wouldn't be so easy with lots of other bikes!
@GlynOC Absolutely correct Glyn
That's why I love them .
the topbox that you mentioned fitted to the triumph is a craven fibreglass one, we used to fit them to our bikes in the 60's, they were popular back then as there wasn't as much choice back then, as far as i know craven is still making stuff so you may be able to get hold of one.
Yes that's them! I should have used that name, I've put an update in the description. Thanks for the info🤪
Nice one Glyn, I can see lots of people rushing out to get one 😂 dam sight cheaper than swapping a Classic for a Bullet and that touring seat looks So comfortable, I suppose if you got the rear subframe from a classic as well you could fit it on a Meteor 🤔 Mmm.. All the best buddy 👍
Of course, that's a great idea, a 'Bulletor' or 'Mullet', I bet it would fit too with the Classic subframe. Next video sorted 🤪
Well that was a a fascinating vlog ...I like the classic but hate the split seats ...........now I can get a classic and put a proper seat on one
Good option there, if a more comfortable position then job done. Plus it’s not out of place on your custom seat.
Am very keen on going to the motorcycle show in November too!!
The original seat, you could do what I got done…..vinyl off, foam inner ripped out and in bucket, new medical gel/ memory foam shaped and sculpted, and replace the vinyl. Or use vinyl from custom seat
Thanks Mark, I'll have a research of some of that Gel stuff, always looking for something new 🤪 Hope the gardens coming on👍
I think it looks really good, i can't find the right words to explain, but it looks kinda retro cool, like a old American rusty buick would do, that would also have big comfortable seats. The black rack looks good too. Not sure about a white top box,so that'll mean you'll do it 😅
Yes, I know what you mean, it almost looks grown up and mature rather than just cruised out of a hedge 🤪 I'm glad you mentioned the top box, your scepticism is always a good barometer of where it's headed and whether it's too much 🤪 Spokes are nice tho
Craven do the top box in black and in two sizes.
The dual seat looks great !
Personally I like the single touting seat cos dont carry a pillion
However, i think the real problem is the rear shocks.
100 miles on mine, and im ready to get off for a stretch.
Ive done about 900miles now, and im starting to consider talking to Hagon if they dont soften up soon.
Best Regards
MikeN
They are a little tough aren't they, the front forks feel just right but the rear can give you a bit of a shove. Made for being well loaded in their home country I bet!
@@GlynOC Yep, I've been there many times! I've seen Bullets with whole families on board.
Not to speak of the odd whole pig, and cages full of chickens!!
Workhorses for those guys, but objects of pleasure for most of us here.
Everyone should go there at least once, then they would appreciate what they have.
I've often told people that the Indians recycle EVERTHING until theres nothing left.
That seat looks mint Glyn! I much prefer that over the old rack you had on there. My standard Bullet seat is really comfy, so I imagine the touring one is another level altogether.
Please don't [put a white top box on Rusty.....or any kind of top box. I think it really spoils the classic look.
Brilliant content as always. Looking forward to the trip out and review.
Thanks Beena, don't worry, I'm already past the white box and my mind is already somewhere else (of course) so will have a look at that. Hope your back is a bit better👍
@@GlynOC Thank god for chaotic minds 🤣
Back is finally on the mend thanks. Even managed to get out on Walter for half an hour today.
Great news, looking forward to seeing Bedfordshire in the Autumn. That's probably a song title somewhere! Have a good week👍
@@GlynOC Thanks fella. You too 👍🏻
Fantastic.
Great lateral thinking.
I am now trying to close my left eye, my right eye in sequence , trying to figure how it would be with a chrome red colour way?
Keeping motorcycle is an expensive hobby😂😂.
I think a black standard Bullet seat would look awesome on a Red/Chrome🤪
@@GlynOC Thanks Glyn.
Once again, you are not a mind reader, are you?
Or may be, all classic lovers love to dress their love in their minds eyes, in the same way .😂😂
The Bullet uses slightly taller handlebars to compensate for the different seating position of the new seat. Curious to know if you might find yourself leaning too far forward to reach the bars after a long ride. I'll check back after your ride review. Thanks for all of the experimentation and disassembly/reassembly videos, they help me out a lot when I get the itch to start tinkering around on my Classic 350.
Thanks, I haven't done that video yet but haven't noticed it being significantly higher, maybe even the opposite as it hasn't got the gap underneath, so maybe it's actually lower? I should look more carefully!! Thanks for watching, Glyn
Another great video Bruce. Tried to do something similar (getting another model's seat to fit on my Super Meteor). Alas, it wasn't to be. But, your video reminded me of how much I enjoyed playing with Meccano as a kid 🙂I do however, think you need to give your bike a clean, I can see it's going rusty in places 🤣😂😦
Bruce? I'm actually flattered 🤪 I get confused myself sometimes. Maybe the new Classic 650 seat will go on yours? I'm sure it'll be the same frame, probably hovering like the Shotgun, but probably a bit higher I'm guessing which won't be ideal 👍
@@GlynOC Holy crap, did I actually write that. I'm so sorry Glyn!
@@B0M0A0K 😀 Maybe you got up too early, I knew I shouldn't have put it up for breakfast time 😋
Another great informative video Glyn. Thank you. Incidentally, what is the music track playing? I rather like it!
Safe riding, Chris
Thanks Chris, just a built in track in iMovie on my Mac, there's a few on there I like and they always seem to suit the bikes. Thanks for watching, Glyn
@@GlynOC Hi Glyn, many thanks.
Just for info, after using the recently discovered (my son showed me!) music app on my phone, it tells me the track is My Song 3 by Charles Kreamer! Thought you might like to know. Hopefully the app is correct.😂
No way! That's really interesting, I'll see if I can find a longer edit of it as that would e quite handy to have 👍 Thanks for letting me know
With that seat and those white wall tyres it sort of reminds me of a Harley.
Yes, it's got that street cruising look doesn't it?
Hey, great video!
I have a Bullet 350 and messed up the rear subframe bolts trying to screw on a rear rack, would you know if the classic 350 subframe is the same as the bullets? THANKS!❤
Oh no, I bet it's almost identical and should fit. Have you tried getting an M8 tap kit off Amazon and running it through the damaged thread to rescue it? They're not expensive, good luck
That went well Glyn. I like the look of the bike in both forms. My solution for you is to do another one and have it as a bobber!
A question for you tho. I tried putting pannier frames on my Classic 350 the other day. I found that as I have the subframe on I need a longer bolt as the original didn't go thru long enough to be able to rethread the nut. Also when I took out the lower frame bolt the bike frame drops away slightly making it very difficult to rethread the bolt. Is this usual or should the frame stay in alignment? Cheers for any advice in advance.
Thanks Simon, it's annoyingly good looking either way, curse it! Your bolts sound annoying, were they supposed to supply longer ones do you think? Do they fit into the mudguard frame mounts, I can imagine they'd need to be quite a bit longer at the top because the bolt can't go in that recess?
@@GlynOC Hitchcock's I've noticed do supply longer bolts and I have some spare luckily. The mudguard frame mounts are fine although I cut a bicycle inner tube up to provide protexion as they didn't come with any rubber surrounds for that area.
Good idea, don't want to mark your nice frame just where it's on show👍
Hey Glen, pls do share how you whitewalled your tyres. Thank you
Hello! Those tyres are called Shinko E270, they're a special vintage style tyre and come with the whitewalls already on. Cheers, Glyn
Hi Glyn, just messaged you on Facebook about your top-box idea.
WIll check it out, thanks!
I like the seat its got a western saddle vibe. Would it fit the meteor
It might well do! Might need a classic subframe though....
I heard that the hunter subframe and seat will bolt right on. Can you confirm if it’s true. Might make a good video with the bench seat.
The hunter subframe is different because the Hunter frame is different, but similar! I've seen a Hunter seat fitted to a Reborn so it is possible, with a little modification. I'm not the person who did that though
Sir, thank you so much for your videos. I am a new subscriber. Would you be willing to please provide the measurements of the classic 350 touring seat versus the bullet 350 double touring seat? I really just would like to know how much wider the bullet seat is. Thank you very much and thank you again for your content. Have a great day.
Thanks very much for watching, next time I'm close to the bike I'll make some better measurements for you👍
@@GlynOC Thank you!
That looks immensely comfortable Glyn.
Would even carry 2 comfortably.
You said you were going to leave a link to those classic British top boxes that look a bit Craven.ish.
I am a life long top box guy so would be grateful.
Thanks Tim, I think it'll be hard to change back! I've added the link to the description now, thanks for the reminder. The manufacturer is Craven and the model was Snowdon and they come in multiple sizes and whatnot👍
@@GlynOC thanks Glyn. I replayed the last 5 minutes about 4 times then Googled Snowdon. It took me there thanks. Really like the look.
Looks not bad at all! I never understood the beauty of the Bullet but the seat looks more comfy than the cruiser(+pillion) I have on my redchrome. With both feet on the ground I can feel the edges. And I am not sure about the looks of the pillion seat it makes the classic350 huge.
For more comfort I am reconsidering to upgrade the shocks but to be honest, I need to get used to the seat before I can decide if the seat is okay or I need to train my bum.
btw watching the new 2024 classic350 line, I wasn't sure if I wanted to trade my redchrome in, but if I get boored of the looks I could convert it to a blackchrome bullit with chrome side covers. could be even better as a stock bullit.
regards, Erik
Thanks Eric, so many options to think about with these if you start swapping all the parts around. I like the new Electric Blue colour, looks really classy and smart, and I don't usually like that colour. Maybe have a try on a Bullet at your local dealer and see what you think, at least it's a cheap option to do the seat👍
@@GlynOC Yes the Blue is the best choice but I wonder if I still like it after a few years. But then again, blackchrome is okay too. I'll testsit a bullet when I visit my local store for sure! thx!
Oww... I went looking for a brown Bullet seat to match a redchrome. Need brown handgrips to balance this color. No luck yet... I sat on a black Bullet today. If this one stood next to the redchrome instead on the 2nd floor I'd chose the Bullet I guess. That is a very balanced bike. However I feel the redchrome looks more like an old timer from a car driver perspective and I do notice traffic seem to take into account I am slower unlike a scram411/Hunter/meteor. I can cruise chopper style in comfort without feeling hunted cars behind me keeping proper distance! May consider the bullet seat in brown to match redchrome need some time to re-re-re-consider LOL!.
youtube: Classic 350 & Bullet 350 Seat Customisation | Royal Enfield | Motorxone
Shows stock Bullet seat on Classic. Good fit, not easy to source....😊
Now if you could have this Bullet seat recovered with the same material as your Lowrider....🤔
Being 6'4'' I really need to have a seat on the Classic and Bullet. Who knows, the Bullet could be my next (and final) bike with its higher 'bars and seating position.
Yes, I think you'd benefit from getting as high as possible! You'll have to have a sit on one and see
Glyn, are you sitting further back with the bullet seat fitted?
I'm not sure.... I''ll have to have a think about that, it's not a big difference position wise I don't think
@@GlynOC thanks Glyn, I have a classic, I'm wanting to sit lower and back a bit.
I've had a sit and a deep think about it, I think it is lower even though it's thicker because it starts right down by the frame and not above it. I think you can move further back but basic location seems to be similar in that regard👍
Hi i wonder what you think of the new Bullet Touring seat vs the Classic Touring seat , i got the touring seat fore my Classic 350 my one niggle withe the seat is that it is a litle bit short i tend to sitt on top of the back suport! is the bulett seat longer so you are able to move a litle on the seat and commfort wise? your opinion what seat is the best? alll the best RUSTY looks sweet have a nice day😊
Yes, that's a common complaint about the Classic, you kind of sit on the back of the seat. The Bullet seat is certainly better in that regard as you naturally sit a little further back which make the leg position more comfortable. The Bullet also has slightly taller bars to make up for that and bring them nearer again but the standard ones still work fine. You can also get Classic Touring bars, which are taller than both!
Are you selling the low rider custom seat you took off? If so I’m interested
I'll keep it for a bit in case my butt gets harder🤪
Three attempts to see this one through Glyn that seat does look super comfortable, did you try the original classic seat for comfort or was it damaged I can’t remember, still looking good look forward to your thoughts on the comfort front after the test ride 👍….pete🇫🇷
Thanks Pete, hope all well with you. No, I've not tried a standard one! Running before I can walk as usual! I might stick it on for another go if I get bored or curious......which is likely!!
@@GlynOC yes fine mate, have been busy for the last few weeks building a terrace and a new summer house on it + filling in the gap from our large summer house to the shed with a roof All from leftover wood mostly only managed a few rides in the sunshine ☀️ here, but coming up to 8k km and now desperate for new tyres. …. Pete🇫🇷
Take advantage of that nice southern summer! Plenty of time in winter for hiding inside🤪
I must admit I prefer the single seat looks much cooler
aargh it does doesn't it🤪
The seat height looks a lot taller as you are tip-toeing. What inside leg are you?
It's hard to tell as it's still on the centre stand there, and the tyres are approx 30mm taller so everything on the bike is taller too. Also, I do only have short legs, approx 28inch
Credit where it's due😮
Do you think I can fit this seat on the old UCE model of classic 350
Not without a bit of work, but might be possible!
What are the tires you are running on that bike?
Hello! They're Shinko E270 Whitewalls, front and back👍
I will be interested to see how comfortable the bullet seat is, as I rather like the look of that seat over my 2 touring seats on my Classic 😊
Edit…….. I could not get the look of this seat out of my head and have just ordered the dark brown Bullet touring seat to go with my Halcyon Green Classic. Will be replacing the two black touring seats that I have at the moment ! May I say this is your fault Glynn 😂
haha I'm sorry 🤪 That's going to be a classy looking bike, I reckon it'll be a big improvement, hope so anyway👍
Fitted mine yesterday afternoon. It looks mint! Got the brown one. It's soooo comfy. Like riding on a space hopper.@@GlynOC
Right dark brown touring Bullet seat now fitted to my Halcyon Green Classic, what a transformation this has made, like riding on a sofa ! Also unlike the touring seat I had fitted the Bullet seat is slightly narrower and smooth sided so tour feet are closer to the ground when you come to a halt, so even more control over the bike. The extra padding is instantly noticeable, thank you Glyn for posting this video, it has transformed an already comfortable bike to one I could only dream of ! 😊
