I can't thank everyone enough for their incredible support of my work. I am humbled that this message and concept of inclusive mental health has resonated with so many people. Thank you.
His message about not having to go through our struggles alone is one that everyone needs to hear. So many think they can just take that on, shut down and deal with it themselves but it really only makes things way worse.
Mike’s journey and honesty surrounding mental health is truly inspiring. He has turned some of the hardest times into a light that will surround others and bring them the support they need.
Having a Team of Four is a simple yet powerful concept - one that should be shared with everyone and reinforced so that we feel supported and empowered ❤ Thank you Mike for educating all of us on the impact of mental illness but more importantly on guiding us to an useful strategy!
It’s a powerful to think of the people who have been and will be there for me when I need them most. And as another who has had dark days of poor mental health I thank you for sharing so honestly. Let’s paddle sometime!
Thank you so much to contributing to the conversation on inclusive mental health and the support systems we can have to support those who need it most Chris.
Mike, your message deeply resonated with me. I admire your passion for mental health advocacy and your emphasis on the importance of finding and being a support system. Your talk is truly inspiring.
Thank you Mike for choosing the "path" to be the "light" to the world that we desperately NEED more of. You are "being" the CHANGE the world needs MORE of. Mental illness affects "all" of us at various times of: crisis, loss, tragedy, grief, relationship breakup and much more NOT spoken of, including diagnosises that are stigmatizing. Thank you for breaking the "silence" and paddling all your "emotions" into all the great lakes for all of us, especially those who are striving to connect and break FREE from isolation. Stay strong in your passion and if you ever need help keep me in mind!😁🙏💞🧚
Community, family, and friends. These should be the foundation that supports us. Instead of isolating and discriminating. Everyone matters. I am proud of your accomplishments.
What a compelling talk on the power of human connection for bolstering mental health resiliency!!! Your story resonates with every human who has a heart and a desire to create a world where no one suffers all alone, in silence, with a mental health challenge. Thank you Mike for encouraging people to find their "FAB FOUR" and then to pull one another out of the choppy waters of life. Bravo!!
So relatable… especially as someone who deals with a disability/ illness most of my life. Thank you for showing up and for reminding us all of this message .
Hi Lauren, thank you for your support of this concept of making mental health more inclusive to support people in our places of work, in our schools, and in our communities.
Mike is such a great speaker and inspiring person. Just the attempt of the Great Lakes paddle is an example of truly “thinking big”. To have done it is a triumph of the spirit and Mike shows what is truly possible despite physical and mental challenges. Keep inspiring Mike! 💪🏻🙌🏻

Thank you for making a difference and helping others find inspiration, courage, and hope.
Hi Mike, thank you for sharing that here. I am glad it made you think about the systems we have in place. We never know when our mental health will be under attack and our systems of support are our greatest weapons.
The idea of having a personal support crew is something we should all strive for! Kind of sad that we live in times where this needs to be sought out instead of just the natural thing but I'm glad to see someone advocating for it.
Incredible….human, journey, and story. Mike’s resilience and his team’s support are amazing! He is vulnerable and open about his struggles which is helping to crush barriers for positive mental health awareness. LOVE.

Thank you for your kind words and being part of the conversation here Priya. All voices are needed to make progress and change. Thank you for being part of a solution.
Loved your talk, Mike! “Find your 4” is such a great message in cultivating your own personal support. I also love the consideration around how you can/may already be a member of someone else’s support team. And how critical that role is. It’s a good reminder to keep in my back pocket with my line of work. Everyone needs to watch this talk and watch your film! Watching your TEDx Talk just made me want to see, “When Hope Breaks Through” all over again. Bravo!
I agree with what he says around the 5:20 mark, it's so important to make connections with people who will be there to support you all the time, not just when things are good

I’ve had some good discussion with members of my four about how powerful it is to shift our perspective on the 1 in 5 statistic. How this changes the focus from “something that happens to others” to “something that could happen to any of us and that we all have a stake in addressing”. I admire all the work you are doing, Mike. It matters and you are making an important difference ❤

Thank you for this reminder that everyone can benefit from. Wishing you all the best and please keep up this work you are doing. You’re making a difference. 😊
I’ve known Shoreman for the better part of two decades and he has always been a great guy. As many friendships go, we drifted and I’m sorry that I wasn’t around for these difficult parts of his life as I had in the past for difficult situations. He has always been a remarkable guy who has overcome huge obstacles and always emerges better for it. I am proud to have known him and even more proud that he has done such great things for the mental health community, especially contributing to the cause of helping to prevent kids from feeling the type of isolation he felt. This was such a great talk and has made me take stock of those in my life and forced me to identify my 4. He has done great things, is doing great things and I’m sure this is just the beginning for him. Great job Shoreman and team. You are all a true inspiration! Thank you for all you do!

Whoa! This is such a powerful and thought-provoking message! I can certainly relate to going through personal struggles and "not wanting to be a burden" to my friends & family. We don't always see that the people in our lives would be honored to help. I believe we are all here to help each other. Knowing that fact makes it easier to see I am not alone. Isn't that a wonderful message!

Mike, you are amazing and a brilliant speaker! Flipping the focus from 1 to 4 is such a good eye-opener and a whole new perspective. I pledge to be part of the 4 for my loved ones. ❤️

Great message of hope and inspiration. Finding your "4" might be a challenge for some and I find myself in that group of challenged individuals who can't fill all the spots on my roster!
Thank you for being part of the dialogue here Tim.
