Other than your content, I'm most attracted to your friendship, and how accepting you guys are of cultures/languages. (That and I'm going on exchange soon to France, so it's cool to see how you guys lived!)
So after living in Morocco for a year... I do not go to the Medinas often at all. My husband and I do not have the patience to barter especially when the award-winning actors come out haha! We love getting into arguments about price changes in French. It's so entertaining. My favorite thing is when shop owners pull the American card to try and make us spend more money and we are always like "but we live here and we actually know how much this cost... and I still don't have the money even after you changed the price becasue it's too much!". Anyways, I love your videos.
It reminds me of Mexico. When I was a newbie at bartering, I would have my husband get me things since he's Mexican and I'm just your old average southern white girl. haha Fast forward 22 years later.. girl I impress my sister-n-laws now. :p
YES ! I was looking down the comments for someone to mention it... 150 to 200 Dhs are the usual prices of detailed heavy rings ! I got a medium sized one for 80 DHs !
I have been watching you guys for a few years now and you have totally inspired me in my daily life to live everyday to the fullest and now I have just been accepted into the rotary youth exchange program to France for a year. If it werent for you two, I wouldnt be studying abroad. Thank you so much!!!!! I love you both
Theatre Trio they inspired me too!!! after i started watching them i applied for rotary and i went to taiwan for a year! i got back this summer😁 have an awesome year
DamonAndJo Hello guys, I'm getting ready to go to Morocco but I'm flying into Fes idk if you guys have been there, would you recommend Marrakech instead? Even though it's a far drive but still worth seeing. Along with a desert tour 😊
Barter systems are stressful! You guys weathered the storm well. Morocco is definitely on our to do list, this was a great preview :P Thanks for sharing.
Actually it is common practice to bargain, typically the dealer will offer a too high starting price and you negotiate it down. The locals do this all the time, you’ll get swindled if you don’t try to negotiate :)
Ah this brings back memories... Marrakech left me more exhausted than any other country I have travelled to. I went as a solo female, and I can tell you, Morocco does not like that! Thanks for this fun and accurate video!

I'm glad you guys still had good time in Morocco. We moroccans hate those fake actors too, those ring's price are a rip off. It should have been 150 dh max for the big one. But Jo you've got some good bargaining skills better than some locals xD. J'adore vos vidéos Damon and Jo!
I grew up with a mother who would buy chairs off the side of the road for like $.25 and refinish them to sell for like $50. I always have to make her proud
Salaam. Thanks for this beautiful video about Morocco. Welcome to Morocco your country too. Best holidays and God bless you. From a Moroccan brother living in France.
Agghhhh I love you guys so much💛💛💛 My inspirations! For 2 years now your videos have been inspiring me to shut up and GO! Went to Brazil last month, BEST WEEK OF MY LIFE, not over it, can't wait to go again in March🇧🇷 So grateful for you two beautiful souls, never stop traveling the world and taking us along for the journey 🌏 Blessings from San Diego, CA, hope to meet you guys soon🌻
Lester Lester I went to São Paulo!!😍🙌🏼 I stayed by Avenida Paulista, so big buildings, lots of people, which I completely LOVE! I stayed in an amazing hotel with a beautiful view😍 Breathtaking in the morning and night! I only stayed a week though there was so much more I wanted to do, so I will be going again in March😍 We also went to a buffet called Buffet America and Pizzaria Moraes, amazing! I loved Avenida Paulista(so much to do and see there), the malls are great, amazing food in every corner, and the sweetest people you will ever meet! I loved driving around seeing the people as well.. and I also went to the Templo de Salomão, I highly recommend to go there as well, it's indescribable😍🙌🏼 I love 🇧🇷 and I can't wait to go back!!!
Greetings form London, love Morocco. I traveled to Marrakech then took the train to Rabot on the coast. If you get the chance there is a world heritage site (Roman village in the foothill of the Atlas Mountains). Enjoy
I love Morocco, my family (moms side) lives all over Maroc. From Casablanca, Rabat/Sale and Asilah. Your video stood out to me the most from other youtubers that tour around Morocco because you guys actually take the time and learn the Arabic words along with their culture, I have never seen another person do that. I just went to Morocco December 9th 2017 to Dec 30th 2017 to visit my family again. I hope you decide to come back to Morocco (Inshallah!) It is a very different way of life in Morocco compared to the U.S!
I'm soooooooooooo glad you left in the not so positive experiences with bartering. I don't think people realize alot of those tourist items you think are locally-made are actually products shipped from a factory overseas. It's important to know what you are actually paying for and don't be afraid to walk away :)
Actually everything silver and real leather is locally made, the ones who are not usually the ones who have plastic in them they are shipped from china lmao, im moroccan btw
It really depends of the object. Real moroccan handcraft is the work of gold, wood, silver, skins (leather), zellig (mosaics), carpets, ... Other things come from China.
When you go to the medina u can actually see people making most of the things they sell you. So unless its plastic everything is handmade and personalised....

The rings were faaaaar tooooooooooooooooooooooo expensive! I'm moroccan by the way...and loooooooooooooooooove silver jewelry, so I buy a lot of it, and I can tell you that you got scammed (which actually happens a lot to tourists). If you're coming to Morocco and want to buy silver jewelry, do it in Agadir or Tiznite, and even there make sure to ask for the price of the gram of silver, because it is sold by gram. I'm not saying it is not expensive, it is a little, but not that expensive. Be careful!!! Oh and another thing! That was not a magazine rack, it's meant to hold napkins! Sorry to disapoint you!!! it still looks good though!
If you ever come back to Morocco, I'll be happy to show you around, or at least help you plan for the trip! There's so much more to see than just Marrakech!!! Anyways I love you guys! you're amazing, you're funny...you're basically friendship goals! Keep them videos coming!
I'm getting ready to go to Casablanca this weekend, my first time in Morocco 😍 Not sure if it'll be quite as gorgeous as Marrakech, but I'm so excited!
Im Moroccan myself and i like the way how showed our country. Very entertaining and honest. The thing is that you dont have to bargain always. Bargaining is typical Marrakesh. If you go to the Rif like Tanger, Chefchouen, Tetouan, Hoceima and Nador you have pricetags and they dont care if youre a tourist or not. Ofcourse you can bargain in the streets but in the stores its more with pricetags
iam moroccan i would like to say that these poeple triying to sell thing with very very expensive prices are soo stupide and greedy , i beg all tourist ich time you see the very expensive price to leave the shop immediatly , they will understund that they have abused with prices , espacialy in marrakech , i know tourists like the weather of marrakech but if i were a tourist not too rich i will go to chefchaoun ( the blue city) or north cities like tangier tetouan fes ifran (ifran is the cleanest city in the arab world , built in switzland style with snow and forest monkeys and a lot water.. for poeple asking for money or these women with nikab never speak to theme they are stupide and silly even morrocan dont like the shit they are talking about .. thanks for comming to morocco ..
Best Marrakesh video i have seen so far. I hate bargaining too. I am sure if someone were to open a store where all prices are fixed and no hassle they would get most of the customers.
it s basicaly same thing with us moroccans, like me they think i m a rich guy the way i m dressing, and they want to charge me more, but it depends on you, it happens to all moroccans in daily basis, you have first to know the real price , and to know how to bargain, and dont be shy, if he tells you 20euros, answer him i ll pay 2 lol
oh believe, i'm moroccan, i live in morocco, and i say that U CAN HAVE PERFECT VACATIONS IN MOROCCO WITHOUT SPENDING ALL OF THAT MONEY yes babe, u can do it
Look guys I'm Moroccan..All the men in stores are like that in Morocco especially with tourists..🙁😕 Cuz ''Jamaa Al Fanaa'' is an expensive place..We (Moroccans) can see that too..That's why when we need to buy something we don't go there..😅 But next time you come to Morocco try to go to Gueliz and check the malls (Carre Iden..Menara Mall..etc) 💜💜 And I would like to met you then🌸🌸..Welcome in anytime guys🌹
Ok, so I am a woman in my 40's and I adooore you both; you are just so ridiculously funny!! You just cheer me up! I was in Tangiers as a seventeen-year old and it was a goddman traumatic experience...I even wore a jellebah and was accompanied by my Moroccan sister-in-law and still I was followed everywhere, harrassed by guys.
that s screwed up lol, people in marakech or tanger or some big cities here in morocco tend to be rude sometimes, but in other small cities it s the real morocco, where u can have an amazing experience, i dkn why touists go o marakech, and it s weird that someone touched you , you should have gone to police
AG even as a moroccan girl..however i go to the street im harassed..one time i was about to throw my shows at a guy who followed me...im sorry u had to go through it in Morocco
It is soooooooo much fun watching u guys video~ love these traveling around the world series. In Asian country, we also put up these kind of bargain drama since people believe they would have big change to make more out of it . But for me, it is simply wasting people 's time and energy for no reason.
Tourist shops are usually more expensive even to us Moroccans, you're the queen of bartering and your pronunciation is so spot on, I would've thought you're Moroccan
I wish Damon would have finished explaining his encounter with the man that had the little boy. I personally don't always want to hear the wonderful things that happen, I want to hear about the touchy subjects most travel youtubers won't talk about. You guys started to talk about a few different touchy topics but stopped short of completing you thoughts. I wish you would have finished.
@@mari5258 people don't sell kids in here lmao . He asked for money and used his kid as an excuse. It happens a lot in here, it's like hey I showed you the way can you please help me I have this lilttle kid that I have to raise all by myself, etc...
Morocco was so stressful and so bad for my anxiety. The way so many of the sellers and beggers make you feel guilty just so they get more money was hard to deal with. I still enjoyed my time but the acting and switch in tone when theh know youre a tourist just made me so mad. You'd think theyd be cooler with a brown muslim guy but nope. I'm just a full on tourist to them lol.
You guys need to legit go to Tucson, AZ during the end of Jan, beginning of February and go to the Gem and Mineral show. You'd be AMAZED what you can get there as far as jewelry, gems, fossils, crystals and all sorts of worldly goods. It's the largest Gem and Mineral show in the world. Do it. Seriously.
Jo legit bargains better than me and I was born and raised in Morocco

We moroccans hate those fake actors too, those ring's price are a rip off. It should have been 150 dh max for the big one.
But Jo you've got some good bargaining skills better than some locals xD.

Yea, they were tough, so we had to be tougherrrr!
Maria H of the rings are silver the price is a good deal
If it is silver it cost more depend on the weight . In 150 dh you can only buy a good quality fake metal ring .
I think those are silver rings so the price was normal , if it wasn't silver then that was a total tip off
I would give in to the pressure so easily, I don't know how Jo does it haha

Je suis impressionner déjà que vous parlée bien français je vois que vous vous débrouiller pas mal en Arabe , you slay guys
Shukran habibi!
Its expensive because they are charging you tourist prices...when i was there with my ex i got everything cheap
Ciara Mcwilliams yeah I bought 3 full outfits for $40. One day before they told me it would cost $300. I said:"no way" and left. HAHHA
it s basicaly same thing with us moroccans, like me they think i m a rich guy the way i m dressing, and they want to charge me more, but it depends on you, it happens to all moroccans in daily basis, you have first to know the real price , and to know how to bargain, and dont be shy, if he tells you 20euros, answer him i ll pay 2 lol
they want to rip off ad much as possible ahahahaha im a moroccan from belgium it's always funny
@@dezavlog you're welcome to Morocco anytime

First time here and instant subscribe. You guys seem like lovely people. Definitely kindred spirits.
Look guys I'm Moroccan..All the men in stores are like that in Morocco especially with tourists..🙁😕 Cuz ''Jamaa Al Fanaa'' is an expensive place..We (Moroccans) can see that too..That's why when we need to buy something we don't go there..😅
But next time you come to Morocco try to go to Gueliz and check the malls (Carre Iden..Menara Mall..etc) 💜💜
And I would like to met you then🌸🌸..Welcome in anytime guys🌹
oki you guys are awesome! and girl i want that ring ! so gorg
On the last day, some guy touched my badonk donk, and I yelled at him so intensely, he basically ran away
I really feel sorry to hear those things in Morocco ... It should not happen. Go to the police.
he ran away ??? Moroccans don't run away
that s screwed up lol, people in marakech or tanger or some big cities here in morocco tend to be rude sometimes, but in other small cities it s the real morocco, where u can have an amazing experience, i dkn why touists go o marakech,
and it s weird that someone touched you , you should have gone to police
AG even as a moroccan girl..however i go to the street im harassed..one time i was about to throw my shows at a guy who followed me...im sorry u had to go through it in Morocco
It is soooooooo much fun watching u guys video~ love these traveling around the world series. In Asian country, we also put up these kind of bargain drama since people believe they would have big change to make more out of it . But for me, it is simply wasting people 's time and energy for no reason.
Ohhh how I miss Morocco, love it!
Jo that complexion, that headwrap, the energy. Youre a dream
damn jo ur arabic sounding goooood
for reallllz? I thoroughly enjoyed it
"Darja"
Omg how come I’ve never stumbled upon your guys channel before 😩😩 seriously in love with you guys I feel like I’m watching Home videos
thanks D&J, I'm the person who asked you to make longer videos, thanks!! 😂😎😊
We did it for YOU!
DamonAndJo 😂😍😍😍 mano do ceu
Really enjoyed this travel video! Y'all are funny. I had to subscribe to this channel.
Am i the only one who thinks that Damon is the blondie version of Rami Malek ? Tu lui ressembles beaucoup je trouve :)
You're welcome to Morocco anytime.
Yael Hilley well we know he tried to sell the boy. I bet there’s lots of western men who come and do that in Morocco
@@mari5258 people don't sell kids in here lmao . He asked for money and used his kid as an excuse. It happens a lot in here, it's like hey I showed you the way can you please help me I have this lilttle kid that I have to raise all by myself, etc...
This is definitely one of my favorites. Looked like you had a blast.
French team😁!! On est là meme sur les videos en anglais💪🏻
gib Zzz Et moi, (anglais) je suis sur tous les vidéos.
Thank you for visiting and sharing your experiences in morocco
After knowing how Jo betrayed Damon... All these videos have a bitterness to watch... But, beautiful memories!!!
Bright work! Keep going!
Im a simple Moroccan and I can't stand them at all. I don't like to be rude to avoid them.
I agree, I didn’t like it either
Ikr i'm Moroccan and i can't stand them but If u want to shop, the best place is certainly the menara mall at Marrakech or agadir
Do it. Seriously.
Guys! I need to know the name of the song at 8:40 😩
Me too!!!
greekNYgirl I got you girl, it's on soundcloud and it's called "FADE" by Funky Fella
Lisa MZ omg thank you!! 💁🏼
I'm glad you liked it. Marrakesh is such a great city
