Written and directed by Shae-Lee Shackleford #Socially Awkward Media is a short comedy about the typical stereotypes we find on the many forms of social media today.
It is a house party where each character in the film represents a different form of social media! Essentially personifying all the different apps and social media websites that exist today. It's a humorous observation of how people interact and behave online today. Each character tweets, swipes, views, likes, pins as they would online but in this world it becomes a physical action. In a world totally obsessed with online interaction it holds a mirror to how we superficially 'connect' on the different mediums.
The film stars Christiaan Van Vurren (Bondi Hipsters) as FACEBOOK, Sam Mac (Channel 10 Presenter) as TH-cam, Sarah Bishop as PINTERIST, Shae-Lee Shackleford as INSTAGRAM, Nick Gulliver as TWITTER, Lana Kington as TINDER GIRL and Ben Crawley as SKYPE to name a few.

Very funny but in a bizarre way. I think the concept was sound, but on a personal note, I think it would've been much more clever if Sam Mac played Facebook. (if you've seen The Anti-Social Network you'll get what I mean.) I definitely share your view of people who rely too much on social media. And I think it's well represented here in a satirical way.
