Now I think that's because it's suppose to be a sad song so they are either sitting down or holding onto something during the news of a loved one. I may be over analyzing here but this song is deep with the way they're singing it, how they're singing it and the positioning they are in throughout the song.
the way they all express themselves so differently while singing yet correspond so well with each other always amazes me. to me, for example, the situation that the song speaks of could be a love story where the relationship is threatened when one of the people is close to leaving the other person. Mitch's facial expressions make me think of the daze and confusion the person being left in the relationship would be feeling. Scott represents the hopelessness Kevin represents the stoic, brave face that one might try to put on to cover all of the pain Avi represents the anger and frustration and Kirstie, not only is she representing the pain felt, but also is placed in the center of the scene, making it appear as if she is the embodiment of all the other emotions and she's fighting with all of her feelings.

Kirstie's performance genuinely made me believe she was actually in a great sadness. The performance from everyone was very moving. It's one thing to sound good, but performing well takes it to a whole other level. After years of watching this video it still gives me goosebumps.

It was a moment in my life that I will never forget. Three of the operations where a success. So his last hat trick, extended the lives of 3 people. This song makes me tear up almost every time. Kevin's beatbox/chello skills are phenomenal, and Avi kills his part, but Kirstie blows me away. She pours so much heart into this song, and really shows off how inhuman her vocal range is. When she hits that 3:40 to 4:20 section my heart stops every single time. I really wish she would solo more.
+SQUEAK I'm with you 100%. I looked in the comments of this video to see if there were any responses on her actual performance. More people had something to say about Avi's or Kevin's voices than about hers, when it's HER solo. Reminds me how overlooked she really is in the group. +Olivia Murphy Someone finally said it! It makes me really upset that the only comments she gets in this video are about her eye or something. She has such an amazing voice(in my personal opinion the best of the group), and can hit notes none of the others can, like in this song or Water, but everyone considers her just a pretty face. SQUEAK I suppose it's because her gifts aren't immediately shocking or noteworthy like the others (Mitch has a very high voice, Avi a very low voice, Scott has a lot of soul, Kevin is amazing at a million things). With all that going on, I suppose it would be easy to overlook her talents, but she's so important and I just feel so bad for her being so ignored. She has an amazing range, incredible belting power, vocal stamina and she's super emotive when she sings. I think of her like a vocal chameleon: her voice can blend to anyone else's or can mimic anyone else's style. I just hope someday people can see her talent... :(

I love that the members of PTX aren't slaves to a capella. They use whatever skills their members have. They let Kevin break out the cello now and then. I also like that none of them are trapped in particular roles: they swap off on lead vocals. They know Kevin does best as beatboxer cuz he's got a wicked beatbox, but he has golden pipes too that they showcase. They're so creative :)
I like that they also let Kevin and Avi sing too cause usually the bass and beats are stuck doing the one thing, but the cello can do the bass notes which then means Avi can have his moments, Kevin should do more singing too though cause he's awesome

Incredibly tender, mournful cover. So beautiful. Thank you, PTX as always! And Avi and Kevin strike again! Those boys are just over the moon! I hear so much love for one or the other but a lot for Avi especially. And while I don't really know who would win a contest if you could construct such a thing, because both of them are just insanely hax *rofl*, Kevin's got so many talents that are understated and unseen where Avi's talents are right there (if you've heard him really sing, not just bass, you'll know he's got a vocal range from low to high that's INSANE!). Plus Avi's a very badass looking guy! (think he looked the most badass in that vid where they were costumed up, "Love Again".. very awesome!) Anyway, and these two guys work together seamlessly, always helping each other with their prospective vocal/beat parts in order to help PTX's sound come out sounding like a full band somehow. Avi’s voice gave me goosebumps. Deep and sweet. I missed him with PTX but happy that he followed his dream. Would it be great if they collaborate again one day. Us fans would die if out of the blue Avi shows up on one of PTX concert. Or vice versa. PTX harmonizes Avi’s concert or song. A girl can dream.

Kirsten sings this so soulfully as if she wrote this song. Avi also brings in his beautifully deep almost mystical voice. Mitch sings with his whole heart & soul. Scott hits it at your core, while Kevin does it all at once, beatbox (heart), vocals (soul), chello (core), mandarin (mystical).

I watched this for the first time long after Avi had already left. I knew the whole story. I saw it coming, and still...when Avi started singing his solo I broke down, and again at the break in Kevin's voice at the end. PTX sings from the heart. When they sing it's real. It's not a recital. You throw your whole self into the song and get lost in the music. That's what it means to sing with soul.

This song makes me tear up almost every time. Kevin's beatbox/chello skills are phenomenal, and Avi kills his part, but Kirstie blows me away. She pours so much heart into this song, and really shows off how inhuman her vocal range is. When she hits that 3:40 to 4:20 section my heart stops every single time. I really wish she would solo more.
+SQUEAK I'm with you 100%. I looked in the comments of this video to see if there were any responses on her actual performance. More people had something to say about Avi's or Kevin's voices than about hers, when it's HER solo. Reminds me how overlooked she really is in the group. Her appearance is kind of the only thing she really gets acknowledged for, and that's a shame because she is every bit as talented and valuable to the group. Just frustrating :(

She has such an amazing voice(in my personal opinion the best of the group), and can hit notes none of the others can, like in this song or Water, but everyone considers her just a pretty face. SQUEAK I suppose it's because her gifts aren't immediately shocking or noteworthy like the others (Mitch has a very high voice, Avi a very low voice, Scott has a lot of soul, Kevin is amazing at a million things). With all that going on, I suppose it would be easy to overlook her talents, but she's so important and I just feel so bad for her being so ignored. She has an amazing range, incredible belting power, vocal stamina and she's super emotive when she sings. I think of her like a vocal chameleon: her voice can blend to anyone else's or can mimic anyone else's style. I just hope someday people can see her talent... :(

I love that the members of PTX aren't slaves to a capella. They use whatever skills their members have. They let Kevin break out the cello now and then. I also like that none of them are trapped in particular roles: they swap off on lead vocals. They know Kevin does best as beatboxer cuz he's got a wicked beatbox, but he has golden pipes too that they showcase. They're so creative :)

And Avi and Kevin strike again! Those boys are just over the moon! I hear so much love for one or the other but a lot for Avi especially. And while I don't really know who would win a contest if you could construct such a thing, because both of them are just insanely hax *rofl*, Kevin's got so many talents that are understated and unseen where Avi's talents are right there (if you've heard him really sing, not just bass, you'll know he's got a vocal range from low to high that's INSANE!). Plus Avi's a very badass looking guy! (think he looked the most badass in that vid where they were costumed up, "Love Again".. very awesome!)
Anyway, and these two guys work together seamlessly, always helping each other with their prospective vocal/beat parts in order to help PTX's sound come out sounding like a full band somehow. It's incredible! And it's mostly because of those 2 guys. Many many Kudos!!

Since the first time I have listened to PTX, I have never stopped listening to any of your songs, and with that, you have all become my idols... Avi’s voice gave me goosebumps. Deep and sweet. I missed him with PTX but happy that he followed his dream. Would it be great if they collaborate again one day. Us fans would die if out of the blue Avi shows up on one of PTX concert. Or vice versa. PTX harmonizes Avi’s concert or song. A girl can dream.

This is the most beautiful cover of this song I've ever heard, the way they just fall off notes and add strength and power where it's needed and then dial it back to the softest, most clear sound. And do I even need to mention the harmonies? Bravo.

I watched this for the first time long after Avi had already left. I knew the whole story. I saw it coming, and still...when Avi started singing his solo I broke down, and again at the break in Kevin's voice at the end. PTX sings from the heart. When they sing it's real. It's not a recital. You throw your whole self into the song and get lost in the music. That's what it means to sing with soul.
