350 SBC Engine running hot? Here’s a few quick fixes I’ve done when mine has overheated.

My thermostat housing gasket has a leak, that’s what he was talking about when he said defective gasket

I got a 350 , w 383 stroker on 86 MC , the car seems to heat up on me i do have electric fans with the aluminum radiator, car gets to like 235 im from cali it gets hot here , i took the fan shroud off , before it wasnt gettin as hot but i dont like how it looks 😂 , 1 thing i noticed was that when i took the radiator cap off and turned the car on , my coolant didnt sink in 1 bit , it stayed leveled up no movement im think maybe thermostat or water pump

Definitely sounds like a water pump but I’d buy the thermostat first since it’s a cheaper easier fix and try that before taking on the water pump. Sometimes you do need a fan shroud so that your fans aren’t blowing air all over. The shroud makes it so that it blows air thru your radiator and only there. What kind of electric fans are you running? I recently upgraded to a better brand because I was running knock off Chinese ones and they weren’t doing the job.

Maybe my thermostat is defective , my radiator is brand new . Also I notice the inside of my spring hose is starting to unravel inside. Maybe that’s the reason I keep over heating ?

You be surprised how many thermostats are defective from factory, I’d definitely start there.
