For those who want to remove the crease: Select the edge u applied it then go to "Item" on the right-up corner ( where u can find item, tool and view ), u will see then "Transform" and under it "Edges Data". Put 0 as the value in "Mean crease" and the crease will disappear. Or use: Shift + E + (-1) .
I've been annoyed by this for a long time. Couldn't they have commanded Clear Crease like Cear Seam? If I hadn't seen your comment, I wouldn't have learned how to delete Crease. Thank you so much.
Nice video, straight to the point and fast talking which i love. I wish so badly I knew about this earlier, it's such a great feature. It can make models way cleaner by not having to move a ton of edges close to each other or make a ton of edge loops to get a sharp corner!
Once you have enabled the edge crease mode rather than dragging to a value you can click once, there will then be a menu box in the corner of the viewport which says edge crease which when clicked will allow you to manually enter a value.
PS: To make changes to your crease after setting it with SHIFT+E, go the the properties sidebar in the viewport (N) and choose the Item tab. Under Edge Data, the Crease can be changed from 0 to 1 - but NOT animated 😟

you have worked on a few non-smooth vertices. If you work on complex meshes, subsurfing almost always creates problems and artifacts in the corners. Better a correct topology.

thank you very much !
THANKS
Thanks so muchh
I wasted a lot of time not knowing this, thanks.
OMG this is an amazing tip! I was old school, adding loop cuts. This is so much easier, and accurate
Did the same for YEARS!
I feel dumb
is a not a good tip. I work on low res and no smooth mesh. with high res mesh, subsurf etc. bevel give some artifact.

Thank you! A very nice explanation on how Edge Crease works.
super useful
struggling to understand why i'm only now discovering this!
many thanks for sharing your knowledge
Omg I knew this was a thing but I forgot how to use it and wasted so much time on so many different complex models, thank you so much

Flipping perfect. You taught me exactly what I needed to know in under 2 mins. TY!
Filed under: Great To Know! Thanks, excellent tips... and also non-destructive, which is a huge plus when low poly modeling, or modeling in general.

You're saving my time! Thank you so much.
short and sweet, love it
Solid AF! Thank you.
So useful, thanks
Very usefull, man! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing!
thank you so much 🙌
Thanks, Very useful
Very helpful! Thanks)
perfect!!!
huzzah the answer i'd been asking and looking for! so that was what was used in a tutorial that went over my head before😅
tyvm for this video!
Thank you!
A bevel modifier with bevel weight is a good Alternative, which can also make softer edges
thanks a lot 😊
Yes! Thank you :)
Thanks!
perfect!
thx a lot
thanks
Is there any way to use a driver to change an edge crease? Like if I wanted to animate an edge going from non-creased to creased.
thx
do creases translate to exports? for example fbx, unity or maya?
how can i get rid of it? i accidentaly applied it to some edges, and now i cant get it off

@@lucafiore6162 thank you! i'll make sure to remember that in the future when i mess something up again 😂
Perfect tutorial - other same about crease is useless. Youre de best!
Why not do an edge loop after you add the subdivision modifier?
Because it is more difficult to edit a model with more complex geometry.
why did i not know about this
ля, полезный видос, я как мудак эти ребра создавал, да
я тоже >
Where is the edge crease tool location within blender itself?
+1 Sub and thanks

OMG why nobody told me that before,
why do everybody teach on yt to use loop cuts? this is so much easier
Damn, i use CTRL R IN MY WHOLE LIFE
thanks

Sometimes you might not want to add extra geometry. Depends on the model and what you want to achieve.
