Truly hate the fact that FFIII remake for the nds was not that popular because it is the first jrpg I ever played and loved it.
Let just say that the 3d remakes or FF3 and FF4 weren't the best. Bullshit difficulty, rewriting of events and characters in a way that sometime even cancel the conclusion of their character arc... Hey, no. When I play FF3 and 4, I prefer the original release or gba/psp port

SAME and the opening cinematic was so beautiful, as a kid I always thought there was a full movie to go along with it because i was a stupid child lol, I love that game so much
This is honestly one of the best stories in the entire series. I love the whole light vs dark theme. Too often in RPGs, the world is in chaos "just because". Besides the story, the game play is also amazing. Being able to switch classes during the whole trial and error process of an RPG to adjust to the fight was a really cool feature. All around, this is my favorite final fantasy game. I came into the series at FF7 too, so that is saying a lot. I've since beaten all of them up to 13-3 (EDIT I've beaten 15 as well). This game just stands out to me. Thanks for the awesome video!

You should see the integration into Final Fantasy 14, that they did. Including the new expansion coming out this weekend!
FF3 is really great, but honestly, I really didn't really like the final Boss, But the theme was really cool.
This is my favorite NES era Final Fantasy. I was glad that the DS remake was balanced so that you weren't forced to play as Ninjas and Sages to stand a chance at the end though.
Geomancer is purdy good at the end (well in the remake) since he can use Dark Flare against CoD :P

me too dude I like how straightforward it is! the story is simple the characters are great the mythos of final fantasy is there, jobs, crystal, warriors of the light, its not depressing as ffvi not as weird as ffiv its worth playing.

This was my first Final Fantasy, played the DS version for hours when it came out, although I could never beat the Iron Golem though.

My first experiences of FF were from watching a friend play VIII and X-2, but the remake of III on DS was the first FF I actually played. I can't overstate how much I played it. Great game and a great true introduction to the series.
For some reason I remember there being other characters in this game: like Terra, Sabin, Biggs and Luke Skywalker
FF3 feels like they took all the unused minor story threads from 1 and 2 and cobbled them together as an elaborate test of a new battle system

Which one? Because according to the DA remake they all have actual personalities and history. But according to Dissidia, there’s only one I think?
The DS ver of this game I am sure never ever mentions that the crystal that was shattered was not the Earth Crystal, that line was removed I think as we found the Earth Crystal near the final area with no questions ask. All there was a line "The Earth Crystal..." that was it, why didn't the DS ver tell us that IT'S A BIG PLOTHOLE NOW!!!!!!
Also that elder wasn't their step father, they had different families and the first 2 characters shares a step mother.
cody2819 Yes it does but you need to speak to Doga outside of cutscene when he is escorting you in his palace. But I will admit. That is pretty important for the plot but never gets mentionned otherwise.
necroplastful Well first time players wouldn't really do that...I don't recall ever being told that, also I feel the game is short but I am a guy who beat FF7 once. XD
It was my first RPG ever. So the nostalgic feels are huge. I know its not the best game in the world though. It made me discover FF4, 6,7,8,9, Bravely Default and ESPECIALLY the masterpiece that is Xenoblade Chronicles. The best game in the Universe and other universes as well and all infinity and everything!
necroplastful If FF8 had a PSP ver as well might give it a try...but as FF games are normally PS only games I never played none on a console. As of now only played FF7 for PSP, FF1 and 23 on GBA, FF4 on DS and atm FF6 for GBA. Oh and of course FF3 for DS.
cody2819 Yeah, the DS ver remade the story so much, adding it own backstories, subplots, and characters, it was almost a completely different game story-wise, really.

I'm glad they changed a few parts in the 3ds version. I never liked starting a game with the full party right away. Unless it's a 2 character party

Cloud of Darkness is probably the dumbest boss of Final Fantasy. Even the sentient evil tree Exdeath is more interesting.
+StepmasterSpoony She wasn't given much story. It's interesting that she/it was manipulating Xande behind the scenes, but she/it's still not given much story. Exdeath also tries returning everything to the Void...but with a lot more story behind him!
There was potential there, but that potential was never met, eh? At least she gets SOME characterization in Dissidia, but not sure if that counts, since it's revealed that the Dissidia characters are all just high tier mannikens whom gained self awareness from memories embued into them...
I completely disagree. She's the personification of darkness (evil) which is over powering the light. The culmination of everything that has been done by the light warriors throughout the game comes to a head when they are confronted by darkness itself (the cloud of darkness). By beating it back into the portal, the warriors of light force the darkness back out of their world and re-balance the powers of light and dark saving the world from being overtaken by darkness. I'm not entirely sure how much more badness and meaningful of a boss could have existed for the game's story.
Matter of opinion then.
Oddly though, as explained in the events of the story though, when the overflooding of light happened 1000 years prior, the Warriors of Dark (the ones who help you in the end) had to stop the same thing from happening (CoD is apparently still named CoD despite the flooding of light).
i was mixed in wich one to get FF3 or 4, i went with 4 do you think that was wise?
+TheMetalwolf77777 The 3D remake of FF3 on the DS was great, and while I think 4's remake was ok, it's strong enough as a game to still be great. Honestly, you couldn't go wrong with either one. Hope you enjoyed!

I own both. If you want a fast game get FF4 if you want a game that will take time to beat get ff3.

Wait, wasn't this released in japan as ff6 and it was titled ff3 for the snes? Or is this the actual ff3 from japan. I didn't realize they ever released that for nes in the states.
Technically speaking, the original FF2,3,&5 were skipped in North America, which caused FF6 in Japan to be released in North America as FF3.

Michael Coates There is a Cid in every Final Fantasy. Usually an engineer of some kind, most notably Airships.

Gameplay over story in my books all day. If a Creator of a series can artisically combine both of these to make a masterpiece (FFVII) then 👏 But majority of the time IMO *GAMEPLAY OVER STORY ALL DAY ANY DAY*
