What's this? A recap 4 weeks in a row? Madness! Seriously though, I am trying out the pattern of getting out smaller recaps for series to do and releasing them in between the longer 'tentpole' titles. I get to toe the line of content burnout while working down the dozens and dozens of game requests I get, and you guys get more content more often, but no less quality. Not sure how long I can keep this up, but we'll see. Otherwise, this game is my favorite of the Chzo series, and its mainly because I love those deep space sci-fi thrillers. Even though this came out 15 years ago, I can already see the modern take of this resembling Among Us in the comments below. But its fine, murder mysteries and monsters and space have been done hundred of times for decades, and this is just one more enjoyable story.

Really appreciate all the work you do to bring these games that would be obscure to the new masses. Amazing little stories like this should never be lost to the chaotic flow of time.
This one has the strongest horror elements in my opinion. The isolation of being trapped out in space, with a new monstrous presence within the ship, determined and brutally killing everyone inside. It is clearly inspired by Alien, and it benefits from this. I also loved the gruesome collection of body parts to create a new body for Da Foe to occupy.
You missed an opportunity for "throw it out the airlock", but whatever. :P
I was introduced to this game by a youtuber called Deceased Crab. I was around 7 at the time and without the chzo mythos series and DC i would have never been who i am now. This made me so nostalgic. Thanks and great video :D
The game hade me up until the record scratching "I just wanted to go to space"-ending

I don't know any of the games you cover, but it's incredibly relaxing to put them on the background whilst I'm working on something. Your voice and narration is nice to listen to.

Enjoying the new videos. Just make sure to give yourself some time to breathe. I enjoy a slow comfortable campfire way more then a wildfire. One might have fire tornadoes but you can make s’mores and share stories around it.
This comment is not for this spcific video. I just want you to know that you are one of the best youtubers out there! I've had trouble sleeping for a long time but these videos (even if i've watched some of them +20 times each) helps me. I feel the love and respect of videogame lore and through the editing it doesnt feel like you do it for fast likes or whatever. Continue as long as you can mate, you bring happiness to alot of the gaming community!

*The story is cute but a bit naive* since the ships of the future (and even today) are, of course, surveilled with everything recorded and kept for a while, so there would be no mystery about what was happening with the cursed box, the walking dead and the captain. Let alone the fact that even if the "debris" would have been collected it would be placed in a protected space, analyzed instrumentally as well as robotically opened -- all mostly by the AI. Also, of course, the team would follow protocol instead of violating it. Finally (after many more issues I do not even mention in this comment), there is no point in sending live human beings into the dark void of space, so even if any missions will be sent to faraway space they would be carried out fully autonomously by the AI.
People like you are completely oblivious, I swear. This is a game telling a fictitious sci-fi story; it’s not aiming to be completely logical or matter-of-fact. It isn’t going to play out based on reality, since what you described wouldn’t be nearly as interesting of an experience.
@@arcanerite7428 I liked the story; as I wrote, it is cute. However, such stories better fit the past, not the future, since the past, due to the lack of technology, would make the story more believable, unlike the future where the span of plausible events is incredibly limited (which is why the most of so-called "sci-fi" is distracting since you immediately see that nothing alike to events told in the story could even theoretically happen).

@@TigerWolf111 Lmao, thank you. This guy obviously just wants to sound "stoic and intelligent" on the internet and it comes across as incredibly stupid.
Actually the game makes a point of the fact that the ship was retrofitted with then-modern technology but was otherwise obsolete and probably crap. This explains why the surveillance is either non-functional or non-existent and also why the design of the ship is so bad. There is no AI because the ship is deliberately crap which is why it operates with a skeleton crew. No plot holes, no worries.

This is just another case point of how games went from atmosphere and depth to "pretty graphics" and no content. This game sure is graphically heavily dated but actually have a story, deep dialog and overall actual content. Plus it didn't cost an arm and a leg and wasnt milked with dlc, microtransactions and always online shit as today's games which again have ZERO CONTENT that only heavily lobotomized millennial failed abortions and related idiots buy into. The market and community is just pathetic, even worse.
