Just remember that the leather comes from the skin of a beautiful animal that we should be appreciative of that animal's sacrifice that sustains humanity giving us food and clothing people seem to forget about those details
I enjoyed watching this but as someone thinking of taking up leather work as a hobby a little dialogue would have been helpful. Brilliant holster. Very good work. Mike UK
Vackert! Har själv funderat på att börja med lite läderverk men det är tyvärr ingenting som studentkontot tillåter för tillfället. Inspirerande att titta på!
Nope, an authentic holster. It doesn't wear at the finish. I used a pair just like that for 4 years in cowboy action shooting and it didn't wear at the finish.. Some use suede in there holsters and that wear at the finish
I’m just getting in to leather work and stumbled onto your video. What an amazing holster, beautiful piece of work. My only question, at the very end you sewed two to three stitches, holding the part of the holster that holds the gun, to the back of the loop of the holster that the gun holster slides down through. When you sewed it together, you now can’t pull the gun holster out of the loop you made, in order for it to attach over the belt. How will it work with the stitch holding it together?
I do it so the holster can't slide up when the gun is drawn. You don't need to pull the holster to attach it over the belt, just slide the belt through
Nice job good detailed video I also use leather to make projects similar to yours keep it up, unfortunately I have to hand sew, just saw your video I live in Australia no open or concealed carry here can only use our pistols at the range Tony
Excellent your work! I am passionate about everything that concerns the Wild West. I have a replica of the Remington 1875 and I made the holster myself. However, I don't have specific tools for working on leather. I improvise and all the work is manual, including sewing. Following your video, I learned many things and I will manufacture another holster for my revolver using some techniques that you show. unfortunately, here in Brazil, third world, many of these tools are not found. Many I manufacture myself. Congratulations on your beautiful work. I am from the city of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. At my house, I have the United States flag. I admire the American people and their history. You got a like and one more subscribed to your channel. I have an airgun and airsoft customization channel. The name is Airguns & Airsofts May God protect you!
I do this at Halloween every year. I have an old duster (trench coat), black Stetson and a 45 cal SAA with a drop loop holster (with leather thong to tie it to my thighs) and gun belt. I wear it all day, especially if I go out to run errands (my state allows open and concealed carry), and answer the door to give out candy to trick and treaters. I actually get a good many more compliments rather than double take glances ("is he really . . .").
I hope you do not get shot at! I think the only reason I would carry a gun would be because of wild animals like wolves and poisonous snakes. But you have the right to carry them. All the best, Edgar
1st i say Beautiful Work. Awesome Talent. I now see and understand the price to be paid for authentic handmade holsters. Now i can ease my hand deeper into my pocket and explain to the wife why. 😂
I have seen numerous versions of an old west holster i do not know the proper name of it (so anyone i talk to knows what i am talking about) but its an all in one set up theres no seperate holster and belt, it seems like that would be a very specific rig and extremely custom who would make such a holster and would imagine it wouldn't be cheap simply because of the material involved instead of multiple smaller pieces of leather it would have to be made from a single large piece
I was a master carpenter for 30 years and loved making furniture. I truly appreciate your skill and craft sir. I’m purchasing my wife and I some single action revolvers and would love you to make us some rigs for them, I don’t know if you do commissions, but if you do I would be very interested in speaking. Great video and fantastic work. Thanks for uploading
Thank you very much sir. Take a look at Boothill custom leather at Facebook, you can contact me there. I can make your rigs, working on two holsters for US customers at the moment.
Snyggt.
Most excellent work. I am planning on making making my 2nd holster. First one I did was rather crude and with rivets. But I'd like to add that marshal star, nice accent.. Can you say where you purchased it?
Nice job. Great presentation. The only thing I would do different is put rivets and burrs the other way, then dome the flat part. Personal preference I guess. Beautiful holster. Keep on keeping on and blessings on you and yours.🤠
I have a suggestion, put 2 or 3 drops of liquid dish washing sosp in your water and even with a sponge it will upsorb the water faster and more completely. This old LEATHER SMITH enjoyed your video. ✝️⚾🙃
Very nice ! How about a mountian man bowie knife sheath ! It's like a pounch sheath only 1 belt loop on the cutting edge side just below the handle ! There were some on jaima johnson movie ! The knife has no top of the hilt the bottom part of the hilt stop on the sheath welt ( the spacer ) and the tip doesn't toch the bottom of the sheath Only to parts fold over with a spacer and a belt loop ! Ifcyou have seen the old buck knife sheaths ( not the new ones ) without the flap and with and integral loop . Stands with a fist wears one in dances with wolves ! It can go inside or outside the belt .

I love these things. I always watch cowboy movies and play Red Dead Redemption. I love collecting cowboy accessories, but in my country there are no weapons such as Colt, Revolvo and Winchester rifles.@@boothillcustomleather8652

Excellent video. I’m on my 5th holster. You make it look easier than when I do it. Beautiful holster.

Great work! I’d be considering myself lucky to have something that had so much attention to detail. Keep up the great work 👍🏻

Beautiful work and awesome video!!! Do you have a website to place an order as I am interested in a western rig setup with a Jim Bowie knife sheath?

Where do get a pattern for the holster? Beautiful work.
Great video and beautiful work.

Tackar.. Det behöver inte vara så dyrt till en början.
That is definitely bad ass. Nice craftsman's work. I've been looking for someone to make a gun belt and holsters for me that will fit a 22 and a 44
Great Job!
this is only a decortive holster right cause without putting a soft layer on the inside it would just act like sand paper to remove the guns finish?
Nope, an authentic holster. It doesn't wear at the finish. I used a pair just like that for 4 years in cowboy action shooting and it didn't wear at the finish..

My Father in Law made me a beautiful holster and belt for my first gun. Now I know some of the the things he had to do.
Thank you!

What Ounce leather did you use? 8/9? 10? Thanks
I use 8-9 ounce leather when I make single layer holsters.
@@boothillcustomleather8652 Thanks for the response, and you usually find that sturdy enough for a 2.4lbs SAA?
@vanwilder1101 Absolutely, if you use high-quality veg tanned leather.
@@boothillcustomleather8652 Ok thanks
Do you have a video on the knife sheath
Yeah.

Very good workmanship takes lots of yrs to prefect that type of work
By youngest brother worked at "Don Hume Leather goods in N. Miami, OKLA. He sewed holsters there. Mostly for police, and military.

After the burnishing I used a rotary punch and made a hole. Then I just bended the skirt so I could reach the screw.
Nice job. Great presentation. The only thing I would do different is put rivets and burrs the other way, then dome the flat part. Personal preference I guess. Beautiful holster. Keep on keeping on and blessings on you and yours.🤠
