Here's some stuff that I've made during this year. Working with leather satisfies me verry much, it's awsome to create stuff that people can't buy in stores.

@@thomashale8063 tandy leather.
It looks good but what is your compound
It looks like beeswax to me. I use it for my beading thread
A comment on the opening scene. Leather. You just can’t help touching it…

What a monster!
Yes! Very creative. Love it..
Where do get a pattern for the holster? Beautiful work.
What Ounce leather did you use? 8/9? 10? Thanks
I use 8-9 ounce leather when I make single layer holsters.
@@boothillcustomleather8652 Thanks for the response, and you usually find that sturdy enough for a 2.4lbs SAA?
@vanwilder1101 Absolutely, if you use high-quality veg tanned leather.
@@boothillcustomleather8652 Ok thanks
Watched your video. I didn't see you seal the dye. What kept the soap water from removing the dye
I didn't seal it, the soap water want remove the dye, the dye has penetrate the leather and want come of
When I dye and apply a sealer it takes some of the dye off. Even I let it set overnight.
@@rickwhetstone4687 do you buff it before you seal it?
Amazing pattern with just 2 tools! Awesome thanks for this.
thanks for the vid! perfect vid for quick reference, adding it to my leathercrafting playlist!
lots of steps for every part made. We have had a few days of freezing, and now freezing rain. I have been cleaning and repairing our saddles sitting by the wood stove.
Do you have a printable pattern
NO. I make all my pattern individually to each knife since they are different
I just finished making my knife and the bottom part I understand but I'm having trouble figuring out how you did the other end
I see you doing alot of measuring and marking with the ruler but I don't know what you referencing from
Do you let the holster completely dry before cutting the stitch grove
No. I do the stitch grove while it's moist.
Nice holster. How do you move the beveler so smoothly
Thanx. A lot of practice and easy on the hand
Thanks for this video. Love your tattoos.
beautiful!
Muy bueno el trabajo👍👍👍

You're welcome
Great job, master at a young age. I’ve been doing it for 40 + and keep it up, find a apprentice to teach it. In my old age, I’m gonna teach veterans.
Oh buddy I love that I like the way you started over looks like it’s not just the rookies
Awesome video. Gonna give one of theese a try soon for my .22
Dude you need to make more videos. Your bad azz

What kind of dye did you use that didn't run when you soakedit?
I only us Fiebings oil dye
Thank you my brother this was very helpful and I can’t wait God bless
Cool border will use it thanks.
The price on those are ridiculous
What kind of glue do you use?
Its a contact cement in gel form
Awesome work!! Where did you get that buffing wheel?
Thanx. I found it at Ebay years ago
In my opinion I don't like the Copper rivets and no gusset and no soft leather lining it makes it look cheap but that just my opinion. I've been doing leather work for 40 years so I do have a minute or two of experience but other than that good job.
So? I don't care about other options, just what my customers want. 40 years doesn't mean that you're better than someone else, IMO.
@@boothillcustomleather8652 you didn't see me say that I'm better than anyone else however 40 years experience separates beginners from professionals in any profession. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings.one can always lurn something from others.have a good day.
@Roger. Backus with your experience, you should know that they often use copper rivets in holstermaking and that many holsters were lined with softer leather back in the days (the western era). My feelings isn't hurt, I just knows alot about western leather.
That's one sharp looking holster !
Thanx.
Thank you! I'm new to leather crafting and edges have been difficult. Some people chase that perfect glass look. Maybe that's too much. Just do a good, solid job with time and attention. Thanks again.
What!? This is awesome!
Thanx
Excellent holster. Fantastic video.
Too cool. I’m gonna have to use that. Thank you.
So good idea. Thank you for sharing. I loved your long burning wheel. Would you like to share where to find it!? 🙏🏻
Thanx. I bought it from Richard Loy at Facebook.
Thank you so much for this. I have watched so many DIY videos on braiding and I can never follow them. This one mades sense. Thank you.
Glad you liked it
I LOVE this. What a great idea. Something useful I could actually make myself. Thank you for posting this.
