    I love the orange filet shawl. I think that a blanket with the same pattern will surely be beautifull. Thanks for everything you share with us.

      That's a super neat idea! Thicker yarn, bigger hook, nice fabric backing. That would work 😁  I'll be doing that with the purple filet "shawl", as it's too big for an actual shawl.

    It's so cool to start a project with fringes first! I've never known that's possible! 😬

    Everything is beautiful as always, Andy! But I love the colours from your Baltic sea holiday shawl!

      Thank you so much! That cake of yarn was the only one out of the whole shop that spoke to me. Everything else was mercerized cotton and sock yarn.

    Your WIPs are gorgeous! They are inspirational. I do peek at magazines when I see them at yarn or craft stores. I do not buy them because thy do not answer questions like you do. I learn so much by watching your videos and listening to you on TH-cam. I am not on any other platforms, but I will find your email sign up today! I am forever thankful for your Tunisian skills and wit borne from design experience.

      Thank you! Yeah, that makes sense, having the possibility to contact the designer in case something doesn't work or isn't clear is great.

    Thank you for sharing your projects and knowledge! I love the orange shawl you're working on. I'm a big fan of bright colours and together with the fringe there are some serious boho vibes going on. Your sweater looks really comfy btw! I asked my (Romanian) husband where his mom got her knitting patterns from when he was young (he's from 1977) and he said they were paper patterns that she got from friends and colleagues. No magazines indeed. (His mom once knitted him a Mickey Mouse sweater that he wasn't allowed to wear to school during communism, that he still remembers very vividly.) Happy crocheting, looking forward to next episode! ❤

      Thank you, Sandra! Yeah, that's what I meant about not having magazines back home. People looked at other people's stuff and just made their own. I have a few of my grandma's creations and I enjoy wearing them in the summer, they are really awesome.

    I love the filet shawl you are working on. The color is gorgeous 😍. I look forward to the pattern.

      Thank you, Karen! I didn't love the cake at first, but it's working up nicely. I just hope it's enough to make a decent length, 1500 meters doesn't seem too much with how wide this pattern is...

    Love the sweater. That’s a great color. I don’t by magazines anymore but I used to subscribe to Interweave because it was the only one that had Tunisian patterns occasionally. Love the multi colored shawl but everything is lovely!!

    • @YarnAndy
      @YarnAndy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Looks like Interweave crochet doesn't exist any more... Well, that's unfortunate. Still, all the feedback so far has made me rethink the need for applying to magazines. I will concentrate on offering the highest quality PDFs that I can for now.

    I used to subscribe to crochet magazines but probably made only one or two of the patterns from a few so the cost wasn't worth it. I found better patterns online and from emails from designers like you.

    you are great, I can't wait for you to come out with more. I hope you made the pattern for the nice sweater. Am a complete beginner in Tunisian crochet

      Thank you, Mette! I also hope I'll be able to grade the sweater pattern once written, it should be pretty easy once I have the measurement chart.

    I haven't subscribed to any crochet magazines but I did get them from the library for a while. Moorit looks amazing. It is very costly in Canada but I love that all the designs seem very modern where as some of the mainstream magazines aren't always my taste.

      Good to know! They do have a digital version, so that's nice regarding accessibility. I'm not sure how many magazines also have a digital version.

    Hi Andrea. I am crocheting the circular scrubby from one of your tutorials. I am obsessed with Tunisian in the round and have made a few scrubbies in various colors. I love the blue triangle shawl you showed near the start of the vlog. So pretty and simple. 😎

    • @YarnAndy
      @YarnAndy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, that's awesome, I think you'll really enjoy the tutorial on making different sizes of circles then, when I get a chance to write that down. I'll put the blue shawl on the fast track then. I think it can be a video tutorial as well, since the repeat is quite simple. It will still need testing, but you could test it if you want.

      @@YarnAndy I meant to say earlier that the Fragaria shawl is absolutely amazing. IMHO, if you want to publish your patterns to magazines, then you should do it. I used to love crochet magazines when I first learned to crochet, and did make a few things from some I read, like a sweater, a tablecloth, and some filet crochet doilies. I don't really read crochet magazines much anymore. They are not that popular here in the US or it could be because I live in the south. I rely on inspiration from Ravelry and Pinterest for patterns.

    I love seeing all your wips, the shawls look so nice. I borrow crochet magazines from my local library, both physical copies and e-magazines regularly, and if I find a pattern I really like I will buy that issue only. I only do Tunisian so most of the patterns don't interest me.

    • @YarnAndy
      @YarnAndy  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's great to know! Seeing before you get your own copy. Do you have specific magazines that you know publish Tunisian crochet?

    I’m excited to see your sweater pattern. Could you please include a schematic? I’ll volunteer to test the pattern!!!

    • @YarnAndy
      @YarnAndy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! If you are subscribed to my emails, please sign up when I put out the testing call. It will include schematics, of course. Do you rather mean charts? I'll see once I get down to actually grading it, as the stitch pattern is pretty simple.

    I like crochet magasinet for inspiration but I prefer to buy patterns because they are more elaborate and the letters are bigger 😂

      That makes a lot of sense! Do you use the easy read version from my patterns? I find it's easier to follow along with large text on my screen, so I've actually been using those to make samples, like the white shawl in this video, for example.
