    for those who might be wondering sometimes it works to iron your work before you wear it to set it and wash on the cold side to avoid the stitches melting together and getting all those fluffy parts ,hope this helps xx

    Also about the lykke needles, they really are beautiful & worth the price! I have chiaogoos & they’re amazing but I wanted a nice wood set so I decided to go with lykke & they’re such gorgeous knitting needles. I definitely recommend them both!

    I hate the smell of metal on my hands too! There was an old metal door knob in a house I used to live in and it would leave a smell on my hands. I wouldn't go in that room because of it!

    Hi Lisa, love all your videos. I also don't like metal smell on my hands at all. Yuck. And metal needles are cold most of the time. I'm making a pair of socks each month this year. My next one is going to be color work. It will be my very first color work socks.😀😓

    The yarn you’ve used for the sweater at 8:05 has a non-existant plying, meaning the fibres in that yarn are free to ”mix” together as they please. Yarn like this literally felts over time if it’s in frequent use…in items like a sweater, if you want it to be a chunky one, you should use a non-felting material. I do understand the appeal of chunky wool yarn, it’s so soft! 🥲

    • @lisasknitclub
      @lisasknitclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is very soft! For now I don't mind so much, because it's a sweater I don't wear very often. But for in the future I won't be working with yarn that chunky anymore I think.

    i find magic loop much more awkward and less enjoyable when i have to use an 80cm cable rather than 100cm so if you get a chance to try it with a 100cm needle you already have you might like it a bit better but obviously if not thats super okay too! i just wanted to share how i feel about magic loop on 80cm cable lol

    • @lisasknitclub
      @lisasknitclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha I have tried it on 100cm cables for sleeves and stuff and yes it is easier than on 80cm. But still, I don't think that magic loop is my preferred method haha.

    In what kind of cables do you need to put in hot water?. And for how long?. I'm thinking of buying circular needles that don't have a plastic cable but they are a bit expensive here (Buenos Aires) and I want to know everything about the care of them.

    • @lisasknitclub
      @lisasknitclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The knitting cables for interchangeable needles are usually very tightly curled once you get them so you put them in hot water. I am not entirely sure what kind of materials the cables are but I think they are plastic actually.

  • @alliebailey6353
    @alliebailey6353 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    can you explain why you said put the cable in boiling water? is this a secret to get the cable to shrink???

    • @lisasknitclub
      @lisasknitclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No! It's because the cables are very tangled and curled up usually. Putting them in hot water makes them relax and straighten. But be careful, not all knitting cables can be put in hot water, so look it up before you try it ;)

    Hey Lisa! I live in the United States and was just curious why you decided to do your videos in English if that is not what you speak in your day to day life. I’m glad you do because I enjoy your videos, just curious! 💜

    • @lisasknitclub
      @lisasknitclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Very good question, the reason for it is that the Netherlands is a super small country and not that many people speak Dutch. Also knitting and crochet is quite a niche thing to make videos about so I feel like there wouldn't be many people watching. I think at this point only like 5% of my subscribers are Dutch. And on top of that, my studies at university are completely in English so I speak English almost as much as my mother tongue so it really isn't a big deal for me to speak in English instead of Dutch. So those are the main reasons haha.

    • @lisasknitclub
      @lisasknitclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha maybe the smell just needs to wear off a bit because I do think they smell a bit right now
