Thank you for this, it's very generous to share your pattern ❤ ive enjoyed making this
I've just made the last stich. I didn't have that kind of yarn, so I tried cotton and rice to fill because I did not have the stuffing. But it turned out beautiful, thank you for such a clear tutorial. Greetings from Argentina
That's so cool! How big is it? Does it make sounds as you twist it? I've only used rice to fill some crochet poi before, they have a funny sound.
@@YarnAndy it doesn't make any sounds , I think it's a bit smaller than the one you made. The feeling to the touch is nice though. But I don't think filling it with rice is good if the toy is going to be washed ... I just couldn't wait to make it ,so I used the material I had ,and I loved it! I'll make nicer ones. I posted a reel on Instagram with the toy and tagged you.
Can I get a link for buying the fleece
@@kanmanishankar739 you can buy it in any craft store or any shop that sells fleece lap blankets. You can find them here in most clothes and home goods shops.
@@YarnAndy Thank you Andy
Can I make them and sell them please?
@@waltersgirls5243 yes, as long as you make them yourself. I appreciate a mention as designer 😊
This is for beginners????????
@@ColaineSwaby yes, it's a very simple shape and a one row repeat with the easiest Tunisian crochet stitch. What would you call it?
I’ve never tried tunisian it looks simple ❤ I’ve been crocheting for a couple of years now. I’m so happy I ran across your tutorial I’m going to give this pattern a try!!! Thank you 🙏 so very much! By the way your piece is beautiful 😊
Thanks! I hope you try this and many other tutorials for Tunisian I have on here. This is a starting point for various types of projects, so I hope you enjoy it!
@@YarnAndy you’re welcome and I most certainly will!!!
Your dress looks lovely at that length - wear it and be proud!
Thanks! I really tried wearing it, it's comfy in the heat, but it feels like I'm wearing a heavy nightgown that irritates my hands when I crochet. I'll make the plain body at some point.
This is a great, simple pattern. Thank you for sharing it with us.
It's a good basic shape for exploring various other stitches too.
I love seeing all of your projects!
Glad to be able to share them ☺️
I look forward to the cardigan!
Making one sleeve right now. It will take a while to get graded and written up.
@@YarnAndy 🙌
I'm confused about how you're getting a diagonal look when you crochet; I'm getting a square look. Additionally, mine looks WAY bigger than yours. I'm clearly doing something wrong.
Not sure what you mean by diagonal. Do you mean the x shape of the stitches? Yarn under, yarn over technique. As for size, what yarn are you using? Mine is chunky, 120 meters per 100 g. Which hook size? What kind of tension do you have? It all plays a role.
😊
I love the grey jumper you showed last. With the lacy at the top on the front
It's very comfy! I'll prioritize writing that up. It's the second sample from a very old idea, but now I have the skills to make it into a pattern.
First, that dress looks perfect on you-love it! It might not be what you imagined or hoped but it’s definitely worth keeping without modification. I also love your jumper and hope you find the inspiration to work the pattern out as it’s something I WANT for myself!!!! You are talented and creative and your vlog gives me inspiration. Tunisian crochet is kinda addictive
Thank you! It might work for others, so I'll leave options in the pattern, just like with the Mulberry dress. I will prioritize the gray sweater, I've overcome that obstacle of what to do with the lace at the top. I'll keep it simple.
I love the Larimar capelet, but will keep it for our summer, so I can work on something lacy then. Winter here now, so I'm working on a warm Tunisian cardigan which I've almost finished. Have you seen the knit pattern 'Kaver' by Norah Gaughan, which uses hexagons in an interesting type of construction, I think it would be fun to try that in Tunisian-C.
@@wendygibbs4210 huh, hadn't seen that one before. Looks like an interesting construction, but I wonder how it scales for bigger sizes. That front V becomes deeper and wider and there's no side seam either. There's another similar design in the same book, called Taku, has a few more projects. Yesterday I was actually contemplating making a Tunisian version in the same construction as the dark blue one. Once I fix the shape of the front piece, that is 😅
I appreciate your constant work at size inclusivity! I happen to have lost a lot of weight recently but now I need to go through all my bigger crochet garments and decide what to do with them. Some were definitely learning experiences but some I am very fond of and wish I could still wear! Have a great August.
Aw, that's a reason to keep making things, right? I'm sure for some you could take the sides in, for some that are made in pieces and seamed you can take the seams out and make new seams, and with the rest you can be fashionable and wear them oversized. I hope you also have a great month of August!
I really enjoy everything that you make. I also wanted to tell you how much I appreciate it when you show the mistakes that you make as well. it totally normalizes it for the rest of us and it is helpful to know how you will fix those mistakes. I do not know how to knit but your knit work is so very inspiring. Currently still working on the Ipsa CAL with Arunima and friends. I intend to buy some of your patterns soon. I want to get some practice with short rows. I don't make shawls, but I really enjoy making sweaters so I am excited that you might be coming out with more sweater designs this fall. Take all of the time that you need. Don't push yourself if you aren't feeling it. We need you and your beautiful content, so please don't burn out.....take care of you!!
Hold on to that thought, we don't yet know what Arunima is preparing for next year! There's also this new TCAL she's hosting in August. I just found out yesterday about it. Oh, and speaking of mistakes, that front panel for the hexagon cardigan is entirely wrong, so it will get frogged and remade. Just realized yesterday as I was working on the captions. Oops. I think for the gray sweater there will be lace only up to the neckline shaping, then the instructions should be easy to write up. No need to complicate things.
3:06 The dress looks lovely at this length! Sorry you didn’t like how it turned out.
Thanks! I like dresses/skirts to end at the ankle or a bit above the knee, for extra comfort. Not sure why, but it's been like this since forever.
I like the dress! No way would I be cutting and re-crocheting and all that. I would put a belt on it and go. The wispy cape is lovely too. I’d be most likely to make the cape with the feather wedges. You’re very talented!!
Ah, I wish I could wear it with a belt. I crocheted one in the same yarn and tried it like that, but the fabric bunches and it's too thick (Tunisian crochet...), so it's not comfy. But I'll leave the whole lace wedge in the pattern so folks can start wherever they want. As a tunic it probably would have felt different, but I "needed" a dress. And I was planning to make a dress in sock yarn for winter too... It will get made, but not in this shape.
@@YarnAndy Understandable then. Sorry it didn’t work out fill the need in your wardrobe. Good luck with the next one!
Which of these projects do you like the most? Would you make any of these? What's on your hook now?
So many different ideas. I love that you show us that not everything works the first time.
THANK YOU! for demonstrating the Standing Front post Extended Double crochet stitch!
Glad it's useful 😊
Do you need to use chunky yarn or will it work using regular yarn and appropriately sized hook?
It will work, but with thinner yarn you'll get a smaller toy. With thicker yarn, a bigger toy. Make one pyramid with your chosen yarn/hook combination and see.
Thank you so much for sharing . This is easy way to join ❤ ❤❤
Brilliant!!! Thank you!! I think I will make a smaller one like another one of your fans did as well!! Thank you!!
That sounds great for small hands!
@@YarnAndy absolutely! My daughter is a tiny 9 - I’m using Catania by Schachenmayr, it’s cotton but with a nice sheen to it - I had some leftover from some other projects - I like the softness of the velvet yarn for myself, but I think the sport weight cotton will add a soft, bumpy, rougher texture to the sensory aspect - my daughter has high anxiety in any social situ’s and her go to is to finger the seams of her shirts until her shirts are either ripped up the side or the cuffs are ripping right off of sweatshirts… I’m forever trying to find something she can finger without ruining her clothes - this might just work!! Thank you once again!!!
This one is bigger, you can play with the size of the sun rays th-cam.com/video/LkPDZqt28T0/w-d-xo.html
I love it ❤ But I’m confused - is the simple stitches in the *eyelid same as a full stitch?? Anyone?
Not entirely. The full stitch is a loop picked up between stitches, this one is picked up in an eyelet, which is a stitch. You can do it by going through the eyelet or behind the front vertical bar of the eyelet. I prefer the first option. What results is something that looks like a Tss.
@@YarnAndy thanks 😊 I’m going to try it out
This is in my queue. 💜
Awesome! I guess you saw the PDF pattern is now available. I hope you enjoy it!
Incredible! Beautiful! Your skills are impressive. Thanks for sharing ❤😊
Thanks so much! I hope you enjoy these patterns!
Felicitări! Arată și vă vine superb! Spor la toate și inspirație, lucrați minunat! 😊🤗❤

This is awesome! I am a math teacher who crochets and this will be great to have for my students,
Thanks! That's awesome, I hope they have a lot of fun with this toy. There are more similar shapes you can explore as well, although we don't have crochet patterns for them yet.
Hi Andrea, it was great to see you and I’m glad you are feeling better. Everything you should look beautiful and I’m very impressed with all of the patterns you have made and are designing. Can’t wait to see the dress finished and your new website!
Thanks, Marina! Glad you like them. The dress has just a few ends left to weave in, I'll definitely show it in the next vlog.
Love your lacy dress - I would love to make a shorter version (tunic length) to wear over leggings.
Thanks, Rosemary! You'll be able to make any length you like once the pattern is written. Tunic length would be great.
That was so brilliant. I learned so much. Thank you for your wonderful video! Have a wonderful day.
Thank you, you too! Just saw you on Etsy, did you find the video before or after the patterns on Etsy? I'm just asking to see if I need to add more details to the descriptions on Etsy, so folks know that some patterns also have free video tutorials, even though I'm not allowed to link them on there.
@@YarnAndy I found your video on youtube first and noticed your link in the description box. I went to your page on Etsy. I plan to purchase it to go along with the video since I am so new to Tunisian crochet. Maybe you could just mention in the pattern that there is a video tutorial as well. I didn't even know you could tunisian in the round.
Hope you are feeling back to normal soon. The leaf bandana pattern in T-C looks really nice, I will be all over that design once it is released.
Thank you, Wendy! That's coming soon, I'm just playing with the knit version now.
I'm looking forward to the knitting releases. The plumería looks lovely (and my whole face lit up when you said you'd convert the macaw wings)!
Melanie, you know that if you want to test the knit Plumaria, all you have to do is say the word. The Macaw wings... I don't have yarn for that yet, but it will get made.
The leaf bandana is a lovely colour and pattern
❤ I’m looking forward to the Tunisian in the round tutorial. The hearts pattern looks nice 😊 (and thank you for reading my comment!) Hope you fully recover from the flu soon!
Thank you! Yes, that video needs to be edited. Not sure if it's the best. I always end up making videos for complicated topics, then have to dial it back to also show the basics and I'm not sure if I cover the basics properly enough. Oh well. Still haven't filmed the Tunisian knit stitch and its reverse... But it could be used in the round to make a reversible fabric. I'll have to film that first before publishing the video for working in the round.
Love it !!!! May I ask what the multiple is? 3+2?
Yes, it's a multiple of 3 loops, plus 2 (first and last stitch).
@@YarnAndy Awesome! That’s what I thought. Thanks soo much. 🤍
Thanks so much for these foundation cast on methods. I was having a neck of a time with stitch count.
Happy they are useful 😊
Merci! J’ai appris comment faire un châle en V au crochet tunisien!❤
Very pretty. One cake? (I just read your website pattern description: two identical cakes. ✌️) I'm going to try that. I'm currently working on a tank top. Very inspiring. Thank you for sharing. 👍✌️
Thanks! Yes, two cakes. Enjoy 😊
Thank you for this tutorial. You explained it nicely
Question: I’m making a pair of shorts top down, and I made the top too long. Could I just cut off the first 5 rows?
Yes, I guess you could. I would check if you can't fold that extra piece over and use it as a waistband, though.
Gorgeous. Is there a tutorial available?
Thank you! Yes, there's a pattern for this with instructions and charts shop.yarnandy.com/rainbow-aurora-capelet-pattern/ There are links to other shops in there as well.
Lovely! 😊
Ellerine emeğine sağlık çok güzel olmuş

For the dress, do the custom gradient cakes have the colours over two cakes then, or did you manually splice matching sections together?
There are two identical cakes. I made each side with one cake, then seamed them up. You can also use them in the round, one for the forward pass, one for the return pass. They'll look the same.
Beautiful
