@@MayoCarsDR I have a very strange thing going on with my 2010 Lexus HS 250 hybrid, 110k miles. I bought it at 103 K miles, did oil change, did another at 108K miles and suddenly at 110k, the check engine light came on with the POO12 code. And engine noise. Not too loud but of course I’m concerned. You hear it when the engine kicks in but it seems to quiet down as you drive, but it’s hard to tell from the inside of the car. We changed out the camshaft position sensor but the noise continued. Then they changed out the oil control valve but the noise continued. Today they are changing the timing chain tensioner and hoping that does it. If not they think will have to go deeper into the engine. One mechanic said he could see tiny metal shavings in the oil & it was dirty before the last oil change. They took the valve cover off and the timing chain looks good and it was tight. They didn’t see any broken chipped or bent pieces on the sprockets. Your thoughts?
@@MayoCarsDR Well it was not just the timing chain tensioner. That sent me back about 400 and they told me they’re gonna have to dig down deeper in the engine and replace everything that has anything to do with the timing chain. That’s where the noise is. And now there’s three distinct noises and it’s worse than it was before. So I’ve spent $1000 so far replacing the camshaft position center, the oil control valve, and the timing chain tensioner. Now everything else is going to be $3000 minimum. The labor alone is $2000. And right now they really can’t tell me if they know what’s causing the problem. Your thoughts?

Corolla 2015 with a rattling noise when very hot outside 45°c 115°f? It doesn't do it if it's not that hot, comes from the valve cover, could it be the oil too thin? It uses 0w20. Or could it be the VVTI or the solenoid? Or something else?

my car is a mercedez bens 350 4matic and sounds like that , when I turn it on it sounds like a knocking in the engine and it vibrates a lot, then it calms down, the sound is like a rattle .. so the problem is the timing chain? the milliage is 150k

I know my VVT is bad but supposedly you don't need to fix that. It rattle like hell for a couple seconds at start up on a cold start and then runs great after that. If it sets an hour it won't do it. But a few hours it will just the first couple seconds. That's VVT not this noise.
