    Thanks for the video. Just finished my Cali king bed last night. I used pallet wood on the head and foot boards. My head board is taller at 64 and the foot board is 40 just for that bigger bulky look. I also notched my side rails to the post. Really appreciate the shopping list. I paid around $300 for the wood.

    Fantastic design. Wife wanted bigger headboard so I made it 64" to cap rail. Footboard made to 32" high with 20" square opening in middle so our dogs can crawl under the bed. Also stained the head and footboard slats a weathered grey and everything else a dark kona

Good design, easy to construct with basic tools. much easier to assemble with mentioned jack stands-harbor freight! undercarriage clearance allows standard roll away clothing box.

    Holy cow you can even make it easier on yourself by having your local store you use for materials cut all the wood for you. Then all you'll need to do is drill your holes, and install the hardware. Shaving off a good chunk of time. Love these projects where imo you wind up with a better quality end product for a fraction of what's available commercially.

    • @edtaber5326
      @edtaber5326 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not hard to cut wood, it's also nice to have the extra scrap left over for the next project. I just finished this bed build but slightly modified. I bet it took all of 10 minutes of my time to pre cut every single piece. I also can rest easy knowing evey cut is exactly on. Lumber yard workers sometimes don't really care. Or they don't inspect the piece for defects on each end and will often cut off a good end and leave a dent or damaged end.

    I love the comment on the OSB board because I'm a cheap person ...... lmol.
    believe me at this time that wood is really expensive there is no cheap person at all.
    love your Farmhouse (NOT cheap at all) platform bed !

  • @PoposWoodworks
    @PoposWoodworks  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Also a side note, the brace I have on the outside at the footboard can mount on the inside where the bottom 1x4 runs across. The reason I had to put mine on the outside is after I had made the headboard and footboard I realized I needed my bed to be 2 inches higher to match the height of my old bed. If I would've known before hand I would've made legs 2 inches longer. "Personal preference" I have since then removed my brace and pocket holed the side rails into the footboard.
