Welcome to the We're Taking A "The Pit" Stop Club how We're Taking A "The Pit" Stop are ya? *note* a long power outage and a series of other not so comical events has thrown my schedule way off so you know what is coming after this since this video was supposed to be up two days ago
Unironically if this game came out when i was a kid i would have loved it, the night shift change is awesome, and adds such a cool twist on a regular racing game *edited for clarity
It's nice that the race tracks are base on 3 fnaf games. The Fazbear hills are base on Fnaf World, Midnight Motorist base on the Arcade game in Fnaf Pizza Simulator, and The Sinkhole base on The Security Breach.
But they all kinda reach back to Pizza Sim- the game that freakishly kludges together so many themes and aesthetics from the series already. Which makes me happy, as its probably my favorite FNAF game. The variety and a more robust gameplay loop felt legit fun, the memes were peak, and the surprise lore was nice, too. But I honestly never enjoyed the og gameplay by itself enough for an entire game, so they only had the accessory horror theming to keep me playing in the first place 🎩 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Really feeling the fact that I have not followed the franchise since Fnaf 3. The only game I recognize out of those three is Security Breach and I hardly know the plot as I watched a speedrun with commentary over muted gameplay.
There's a lot of potential here honestly. I'd like to see more done with the dayshift / nightshift mechanic, and the AI needs a lot of work. The track design also seems a bit long for a full five laps. That said, there's definitely something here.
It's genuinely a good idea for a racing game, I fully expected getting jumpscared to just kill you outright and remove you from the race, with 8 racers and 5 laps it'd ensure that only the top 3 racers would survive, so seeing that it *didn't* was surprisingly lenient.
Honestly I love the idea of this. But it really needs a tutorial race to explain the mechanics (like what do the yellow and little battery pick ups do? What's the circle on the ground do Ect). Also the physics could use a lot of work. While Manly did pretty well driving, I saw Astralspiff play this, and WOOF, they were rough on him.
This is the most optimized Ive seen of the game, combined with Manly already getting the hang of the really stiff controls. Other TH-camrs usually encounter a LOT of bugs in this game.
Now that you bring it up, I can imagine a "Typing of the Fazbear" game, where they pop around the corners and you have to mash out crazy sayings before they jumps scare/hit you. There are plenty of animatronics and bosses to keep the variety up, and different games can be different levels... I would totally purchase that!
i find it very funny how they're making a racing game but roxy isnt a playable character (yet at least. i really hope they add other characters to race as!)
@@sasir2013 That would be neat, but I did see a lost bits video for the game where (stop reading here if you don't wanna be spoiled or something) it showed early versions of the icons for the different racers, and there were two unused icons of a similar style to the rest for roxy and circus baby. hoping they become playable! would be kind of disappointing if not
Around 8:40... I thought about rubberband mechanics too, but, on the left (below your character icon) it actually shows how much behind the CPUs are, so I think they don't actually rubberband. Of course, we don't know how well they simulate the thing, but my feeling is that, they probably don't rubberband lol.
If you've ever played the midnight motorist track you can very easily tell there is no rubberbanding. the Cpus have no idea how to dodge the cars and just get stuck miles behind

The fact that Manly played the demo for Five Laps at Freddy's before the demo for The Joy of Creation is crazy. Also I just wanna clarify in regards to the video description that this game is not a fan game. Five Laps was developed by Clickteam, who is well associated with the franchise as they made the game engine the original FNaF series was made in and are responsible for the console ports of those games. Don't ask why Clickteam was hired to develop a game in a completely different game engine than the one they created, I have no idea.
alien isolation was made by devs who made total war. Yes, a horror game made by real time strategy developers. Not unusual for devs to try doing something else
The extermination aspect should be added, like every lap the last place will get removed from the race. The maps are cool, especially with this day shift/ Night shift dynamic, but five laps can be long, the last one had changing roads, maybe more of that or a very long dynamic track with "Partial Laps"
Dude your good , because this demo is almost irritatingly unplayable with its glitches and bad ai. I'm hoping that in a year when it releases it will be way better than what it is.
the devs releasing this early for the 10th anniversary gave a really bad impression. I definitely believe this game will be great when it's done but right now it's fnaf world 1.0 levels of unfinished
Awesome to see Manly playing some Flap, as hype as i was and still am for the full game, i do hope they improve a lot in the 7ish months to a year release window. I had a particular bug in The Sinkhole that kept resetting my character position despite being very much on the track, but aside from obvious bugs in the demo version, i want the character models to be much more emotive and auditory, which in the end is more of a polish feature for the full game anyway.
I love the last area! Maybe it's Roxy Raceway from Security Breach, since the sinkhole is under it in the game. Also, the Nightshift looked like Cassie putting on the Vanny mask in SB: Ruin!
Alright, my thoughts... I think it's very neat. The music is nice, and it certainly looks fun. That said, I was half expecting something creepy to happen, or having creepy secrets scattered around the game, kinda like what happened at 13:45. As it stands, the game is played extremely straight-- as in, no twists about its nature. Which is fine, but I really liked what happened at 13:45. Sometimes we're just looking for that kind of strangeness. Makes me think if there are actually some secrets hidden in this game. (Manly didn't explore the other paths during the third race, unfortunately-- but more to ourselves, if someone wants to explore them themselves.)
FLaF feels like a proof/display of concept, and for that, it is great. However, it needs more time in the oven, and even then it needs a bigger studio later willing to rework it. It is nice though as a concept.
@@xcutionunknown9634 Describing something as the "x of all time" without saying its the "greatest" or "Best" usually means it's bad or underwhelming.
