    Great video as always Andy. Would it be possible to tell us the weight limits on the chairs next time please. Some of us are 'big boned' lol.

      Even the cheap ones start around 250 lbs I had a 15 dollar one from Walmart that could hold 350

    Top tip , cut holes in tennis balls put over feet of chair to stop it sinking in the mud .

      Ah yes, because four tennis-balls don't weigh anything nor takes up any space.

    I have had one of the “glamping” chair variations in my car for years. I bought it at a Walmart in Ohio in 2016. I’ve beaten the daylights out of it. Rivets have popped and screws have been lost. I’ve replaced them with stainless steel machine screws and Ny-Lock nuts. Portions of the chair material have worn out and been re-sewn and reinforced. It soldiers on and remains the most comfortable and welcoming seat to have ready to go anytime, anywhere. I probably could have replaced it with a new at least four or five times by now. At the price point and build quality, I don’t think they are meant to last more than a season or two. But the one I have is testament to the fact they can be kept going without too much fuss.

    I like to sleep in a hammock since there are lots of trees here. When I'm going light I take a hammock chair I made to fit me. Far more comfortable when you put a stick or paddle through the end nearer your feet. I also have a couple cheap ones like you showed that stretch the 4 corners on a frame, and a taller one of those with optional foot rest attachment for car camping.

  • @wmarian5027
    @wmarian5027 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Was waiting for this one, much appreciate the length. I am comfortable in most, but for the ones that pack smaller, the frames are so tough but agree the seats tend to go at the corners in all designs after several uses (i do tend to lean, rock, stretch out my legs, etc. But am 25 to 75 lbs under weight limt). Then you are left with severely over designed strong frame. Wish some of the expensive ones sold seat replacements or really figured out reinfirced corners, some design that doesnt drpend 100 percent on corners, or some alt uses for those frames when the seat goes. Take care thanks for vid

    So over the years I have been through many camp chairs some of which you have shown similar versions of in this video. It also adds up to quite a bit of money spent too. So, in terms of the main things you want in a camp chair, the feet , the back support, the height, stability I have one down a different route. Why reinvent the wheel, I just watched people outdoors sitting for long periods fishing and bought a fishing chair. It ticks a the boxes and is bomb proof. There are many versions to suit all tastes. But generally they are the I have come across and will last many many years. Granted not all are light weight enough to take on a hike, but car camping it’s a no brainier.

    the onetiris, you attach the seat before locking the center strut. it is made to get the seat on easier. prefer those with a high back so you can lean your head against something. the hammock kind of chair, is it a copy of NEMO's stargazer, check if there are two bars to be put on the back so you can raise the headrest. then you can change the straps so you can adjust the inclination of the backrest to an almost lying position

    Great video with an impressive selection of chairs.
    I’m sure others will chip in with their own favourites.
    I have narrowed mine down to the Kilos chair which has both arms a foot rest and a high back for our glamping and for days out walking I carry a Helinox chair zero which is stupidly expensive but at 500 grams ( plus the sand mat which is essential in my opinion) is almost the lightest out there.
    Also a available for the Helinox is an insulated seat cover which is great for the cooler months.

    Great video Andy. For most camps I use a Helinox sunrest. On our week long trips I bring a Coleman outpost elite. It is a heavy tank of a chair, but if you are close to a vehicle it is nice to have on a Longer trip. It has a decent side table that’s good for prepping a beverage if the other camp tables are in use. Keep up the great work!

    Moon Lence makes an idenitical chair to the OneTigris Tigerblade, has he exact same frame mechanism, just a different fabric/mesh seat (mesh back and sides with fabric seat mes, and more fabric up towards your arms). It'sa little cheaper than the Onetigris as well. So far the mechanism appears to be holding up well, but I haven't used it terribly much yet. I got it to keep in my car in case of 'emergencies' or if I go somewhere there's no available seating options..

    For chairs with feet that tend to sink in, I split a plastic pipe a bit more than wider than the a pair of feet, which make chair foot pads...for 2 pairs of legs.

  • @williamirelan9332
    @williamirelan9332 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The new onetigris chairs have a feature that they are easy to put the fabric part on the frame first and then lock the frame so you don't have to stretch the fabric over the locked frame. A fabric rectangle with pockets in the corners that stretches over the feet will keep the chairs from sinking into sand or wet ground and fold to fit into the case. Another way to keep them from sinking into the ground is insert the feet into hose stretched from one corner to the other, I prefer an x pattern from corner to corner.

    • @atzedevries9563
      @atzedevries9563 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes indeed. Also the larger one has a square frame so you can use it without the feet, making it lower which could be useful.

  • @bokneg66
    @bokneg66 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I thought the Onetigris chairs with the hinge arrangement that you click open were made for folk who had difficulty with slotting the fabric tops on to the frame rods. In the standard design, the fourth slot often requires a bit of muscle to slot in place. In the hinged design, you can slot all four corners in their places first, then click open the hinge. It should be less awkward and require less muscle.
    Am I making sense? Anyway, I love the channel!
