I don't really believe in high end mascaras- I have always been able to find excellent mascaras at the drug store. I have tried high end products of course but they are always a let down. My fave is the Neutrogena Full & Soft waterproof. It's a great drier formula- they used to have a brown-black. I only curl lashes before mascara!
Meanwhile, I don't trust drugstore anything anywhere near my eyes! The best high end mascara if you want chestnut brown is by Dior. The 698 one. But I just prefer lighter brown since I'm such a light blonde. Colour Pop lengthening mascara in brown is good to as low end mascara. Just ignore that it says lengthening.
I love that you are reviewing Mascaras with no lash extensions, just your natural lashes because that's what most people watching are working with. I think my favourite was the Maybelline Sky-high one too, since my lashes are pin straight as well, that lift is truly amazing out of a drug store mascara! A great tip for curling your lashes, heat the curler with a blow dryer until it is very warm, test it on your inner arm to make sure it won't hurt your eye. First curl before you put on mascara, then if you need to again after mascara has completely dried, total life changer for me! You're so gorgeous btw!

If you do wanna try curling your lashes after, you can use a very very light dusting of translucent powder on your curler, but I agree curling them first is best

My favorite is the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black in Black Brown. Stays really well (and the regular washes off easily) and the waterproof version is Really Really waterproof. Also, as someone who is pale as fuck: yeah, even a brownish tint makes a big difference

Hi Mae - I just looked up the Maybelline mascara and in the details it said "Easily removed with soap and water or makeup remover" so maybe the method of removal is more straight forward - sounds like a tubing mascara?

Brown is a little lighter and warmer in color
Like brown eyeliner, brown mascara gives more definition than no makeup while looking more natural and less harsh than black mascara/liners.

I have the same that my lashes are very straight&soooo many mascara is too liquidy and it takes my lash curlings away in no time. I hate it.....😒

Cake mascara -- you use a brush and add a drop of water to a solid cake of mascara. Apply multiple layers on your eyes. Really elongates!
