Essence Lash Princess literally melts away from one moist finger touch so it's definitely impossible that it doesn't smudge on You, unless you wore it for like a couple of hours or so. It smudges above the eye due to sebum and lower lashes are gonzo if you sweat a bit or your eyes water. But it's great for easy removal, obviously.
@@glacialimpala I got that mascara based on a review on it and it is so annoying. It melts off all over my eyelids and lower eye. Flakes and clumps. I can't understand why it would even be in a review. I've just bought the sky high one so I hope that's better x
@@glacialimpala , I definitely agree with you . I get what you mean but i'd like to see someone with short straight or thin lashes so i can relate. Her lashes is already thick and long so anything she will put on will look decent or good.
I've discovered that the Essence Lash Princess mascaras work wonderfully if you apply them and then go back with a brush that can separate. That extra steps makes it 60% even better than it is.
i always used their other mascaras but i’m super excited to attempt their lash princess mascaras! i have long eyelashes but recently theyve become brittle, sparse and fall out. :( i need volume and length back
@@who8518 hands down the OG lash princess is a HG. However, it does transfer but I just give it a quick swipe bc my lashes look like falsies with it so it's worth it!
She applies the mascara way differently than I do, thus getting differently results. Technique is everything. I wiggle the wand to get any clumps out and squint my eyes so the wand helps my lashes curl with the maybelline Sky high mascara. If you just blink it on the mascara, clumps can form very easily and it looked like she was putting on the mascara in the same area multiple times which I do but not as much as she does. I get my lashes to be more separated and less clumpy that hers do.
I love the Sky High mascara. Adds great length to my lashes and doesn’t clump or smudge for me! It’s my new favorite. I also love the L’Oréal Lash Paradise mascara. These are def the two mascara that I will be sticking with for awhile.
I have been saying lash sensational is the best FOR YEARS!!! I’m so excited you ranked it the same!! I too was an irrational drugstore mascara buyer and picked up lash sensational and then never went back!!! It’s my go to!
Obviously mascara is such a personal item. I still and will ALWAYS rate the Essence in the green tube as the best mascara on the market, high end or drugstore
I like it but I find it very messing and clumpy and wet. I changed back to the L'Oréal telescopic. I prefer a dryer seperating mascara but it's definitely a personal thing
Abbey, I can't thank you enough for this video. I've spent hundreds of dollars on high-end mascara (Chanel, YSL, etc.) and tried Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Mascara after seeing this video. OMG, it is just as good as any of the high end mascaras I've used...I'm switching to
Finally, someone who loves the Lash Sensational! I will say I can get a great lash must faster with Lash Paradise, but I don't mind the work needed for the Lash Sensational. Try the Lash Sensational in the black tube - it has a brush like the Sky High but stiffer, and it's insane! I miss the curved brush for curl but there is something just a little extra special in the black tube with the purple writing.
Do you use the waterproof version of Lash Paradise? Cause I’m using Lash Paradise but it’s accidentally bought the waterproof one and it’s very wet and clumpy and makes my eyelashes fall out.
It's very interesting how these mascaras work differently for different people. It probably depends on the length and volume of the natural lashes, on how watery your eyes are or how oily the eyelids can get. I've tried all of these mascaras but my favorite one is the Maybelline The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara. It gives me the most length and separation and the most important - it stays put all day. All the other ones are smuggling on me. The Essence ones smug like no other.
My go to is L’Oréal Double Extend lash tubes. Doesn’t come off or flake even after a super sweaty Zumba class. I enjoyed Maybelline Sky High the first 3-4 times I used it and then it just went clumpy for me. Thanks for the informative video! ❤️
Maybelline Sky High performed and lasted the same for me, good at first, then a few uses later, it was clumpy. I'm older, but honestly, I think mascaras from years back were much better than today's, except for Maybelline, it was the one that would smudge off within a few hrs. Back in the day, Covergirl mascaras were much better than all of these different ones today, and unfortunately today's Covergirl is nothing like what it use to be, and very disappointing. I wish they had just stuck with what they once had.
yes, I think that us people with glasses will notice the flakyness much sooner. because most flakes would be so small they wouldn't stick to your undereye area. btu they do stick to the insides of glasses and grrrr it makes me go crazy
I actually use the Lash Paradise AND Lash Sensational together and let me tell you.....perfection! My fave has ALWAYS been the Lash Paradise. I've tried soooooo many different ones and I just keep going back to that.
Lash Paradise IS the best!! I also use the Loreal Primer as well. I have tried dozens of mascaras over the last 20 years, and Lash Paradise is the only one I use. No smudge, no clumping, just long. gorgeous lashes.
@@trupti13indoaussie Hi.. During the summer I use waterproof, due to the humidity here in Vegas. Nothing worse than having your mascara run down your face. Otherwise, just the regular Las Paradise. Use some primer with it (I recommend Loreal) It lengthens your lashes even longer, with the Lash Paradise. Have a nice weekend!
For the longest time I’ve been using the lash paradise just towards the base and middle of my lash for volume, and the lash sensational at the ends to lengthen and separate. It’s my absolute favorite combo!!
I use the Essence Lash Princess (green tube and blue one to have waterproof option) and before applying, I use L’Oréal lash primer (white tube) and I find better separation and better length - gives a more defined false lash look (: L’Oréal Lash Paradise is also a favorite along with the pink tube lash primer (:
I've been wearing lash sensation for years and I love it. So no need to change. But I am interested to try Sky High, so I think I'll still give that a go and then revert to my trusted classic.
@@bri_marie_ the original one, but... The sky high is good. My mum's now trying it because the skinny brush is good at picking up smaller lashes in the corners.
Actually I liked the orange one on you the most😍 unfortunately I tried the No.1 mascara and I liked how it performed, but my goodness it was soooo hard to take it off 😩 that’s why my favorite one is the L’Oréal lash paradise 🙌👌 great video, thank you so much 💕💕
You should try L’Oreal Telescopic mascara. I’ve been using it for years, & it’s been the only drugstore mascara (that I’ve tried) that holds my lashes up. I love it! I’m looking forward to trying the Maybelline mascara you ranked #1.
I have and love both. The waterproof Lash Princess stays on so well the only thing I find that gets it off is the Garnier micellar water with the blue cap.
Telescopic is my favorite too. I have the shortest lashes ever, so the super skinny wand is a dream for me. Those huge curved wands are a disaster, mascara all over my lid no matter how careful I am.
I can't believe my holy grail L'Oreal voluminous is in last place! I've been using it for years so I do need to experiment and will try your first place choice. Love your thorough reviews!
Abbey you should try covergirl exhibitionist mascara - you'll love it! (especially since your top 3 are my top 3 as well, in addition to the Covergirl one!)
This is my favorite mascara too! I don't love other mascaras as much as i do this one. Another question - did you notice that your lashes weakened at the beginning?
Just a recommendation... the Gigi Blacklash Mascara from Mac. It’s sooo good! I love simple, natural, and high quality beauty products and this mascara hits all of those points!
Ever since I got poked in the eye with a mascara wand getting my makeup done for a dance competition I’ve been terrified of mascara 😂 but you’ve helped me get back in the game 😊
The maybelline sky high mascara is the best I've tried. If you want longer lashes/brows, The silly George lash serum is honestly amazing. I've been through two tubes and I can most definitely say that it works!
It is crazy how opposite my favorites are from yours! I hated Lash Paradise and Sky High and my absolute favorite is Cover Girl Lash Blast. I have long lashes, and I love the volume that one gives me. And it washes off the easiest. Even if I don't agree, I loved the video and I loved seeing the comparisons! It's really helpful!
YES! I love Covergirl Lash Blast also. I have long but straight lashes and I notice the curl holding throughout my 12 hr shift and the volume is amazing too! Doesn't dry bc I don't have to put the brush in and out the tube....one coat it good enough! 💜
Hmm.. I love Cover Girl lashblast too,and was just getting ready to give lash paradise a try. But now I wonder if I should. Do you mind telling me why you " hate it" I don't want to waste my money
@@monicshastings8945 Lash Paradise's formula starts out a lot drier than Lash Blast, so the tube didn't "last" as long. I like to comb through my lashes after putting on the mascara, and since Lash Paradise was so dry, it would flake almost immediately as I was combing through. Even if I didn't comb, there would be flakes on my cheeks throughout the day. Finally, Lash Blast seems to be the mascara that washes off the easiest at the end of the day. It lasts the longest on me, but isn't isn't difficult to remove. Lash Paradise (and Sky High) need a dedicated eye makeup remover or something.
@@happyhappy101 First off, thank you for answering and giving a well thought out review. It was really helpful. We seem to have simpatico views on mascara. I also like all the things you mentioned about lash blast mascara, including how easy it is to remove. I also like how it gives such volume with just one coat, yet looks smooth and natural and not spikey -so no spider leg lashes. money. All the things you mentioned about lash paradise I wouldn't like either. I also like to comb out my lashes to separate and remove clumps, so I wouldn't be looking forward to having a lot of it comb out and wind up with mascara flakes under my eyes. So now I know not to waste my money on lashparadise. * If you should ever happen to be a little tight on money, I've found that Wet n Wild Mega Volume mascara is very similar to lashblast but only a fraction of the cost. Approximately only $ 3 at Winco grocery store Or if on sale at drug store, which they also sometimes be BOGO
OMG I was thinking the same thing. I wanted before pictures to see what her lashes were like before application because her lashes look perfect for all of them!
I’m actually disappointed of the purple Essence Lash Princess mascara. I agree with you, it’s so so wet and while applying it, it stains my whole eyelid and after a few hours of wearing it, it smudges on my undereye area, even when I don‘t apply lower lash mascara 😕
I recently bought the Maybelline waterproof lash sensational and I was honestly super amazed. I don’t wear mascara only on special occasion. I tried this after not wearing mascara for like the longest time & I really liked it !
I love lash sensational! It was my absolute favorite for years but then I found the Loriel telescopic and have been using that for about the last 2 years. This has made me want to go back and try the lash sensational again but I would definitely recommend trying the telescopic if you haven’t already!
I love the telescopic too. I have the shortest, stubbiest lashes ever so that super skinny wand is the only one that doesn't get mascara all over my lid. Those huge curved wands are a disaster for me, I need that micro precision haha
@@elizabethcoheeI agree ! I have short lashes and the l’oréal telescopic works wonder!. I also like the maybelline lash sensational but i’ve not used it since using the telescopic
Crazy how different everyone’s lashes are! Ive tried most of this list and essence lash princess (green) is my number 1 of all time!! It’s not even a “it’s good for the price” situation, it’s genuinely my favorite out of every mascara I’ve ever tried, ever.
For me, it's most about ease of removal at night, that's why I only use TUBING mascara now. My faves are Loreal Beauty Tubes and Thrive. Loreal Beauty Tubes NEVER smears during the day, even rain getting on your face and you literally hold a cotton pad with water to your eye for 20 seconds and the tubes slide off. The BEST
@@janicerainey8687 hey I found this on google: "Regular mascaras use oils, waxes and dyes, whereas tubing mascaras have polymers that wrap around each individual lash. This creates 'tubes' that encase each lash giving you a very even application. It may sound strange, but tubing mascaras are actually smudge-proof and are super easy to remove!" hope it helps
The best result was by far was imo, the covergirl lashblast. They were fluffy and did everything you want in a mascara. The others looked terribly clumpy but they may be because you kept adding for demonstration and they were too overdone.
If you like Lash Sensational, try the one in the black tube with purple writing. It has a different wand but I swear it is somehow better than the original - and the original was a fav of mine for several years! It doesn't curl quite as well, but it outperforms the original in every other way for me. When I need quick, the Essence or the Lash Paradise is faster, but the results are better with Lash Sensational if I take a little extra time with it.
Lash Paradise by L'oreal is where it's at for me, as far as drugstore mascaras. I want good coverage in one coat, no clumps and I don't care that much about volume. I want lift and length, and I feel like it improves the quality of my lashes as well.
I tried your blinking tip and omg, I am pleasantly surprised to say that this is a total game changer! My mascara usually looks like it is gone by evening, but after using your tip I got great coverage and it lasted until I took it off. Thanks so much!
I wish more drugstore brands would go cruelty free. For that reason I stick with my Essence Lash Princess mascaras. Maybelline Lash Sensational was my favorite for a long time. I also like more wet mascara formulas and the curved wand. I think I’ll try the purple lash princess next time. I’ve only ever tried the green one.
For me personally i prefered the mascaras in the opposite order. I like a dryer formula because i like a more natural lash but i did really like the Lash Sensational.
Same here! I really think a lot of these mascaras could have benefited from a metal lash comb and less coats ...just my opinion. I think I tend to prefer a more wispy/defined lash.
I’m loving the sky high mascara with IT cosmetics over it. I hate the IT cosmetics by itself because it’s all volume and no length but over a lengthening mascara it’s awesome! I haven’t tried lash paradise yet but I will now. Thanks! Loved your video!
Honest question; does everyone use this much mascara with each coat? I can't get my lashes to look like yours using that much product....it ends up looking extremely clumpy. Yours look amazing!!
I've used 5 of the mascaras she used and my lashes never looked like that with any of them esp Lash Princess they'd be a massive clumpy mess or I'd have mascara all over my eyelids. I would call her first application 3 coats at least and I usually do 2 coats. Not sure if she wipes off the wand first? Interested to see the mascara secrets video.
I just CAN’T with plastic bristles. Man your lashes are amazing. Mine are long but dang yours make me want to do grande lash or something to get more of them! L’Oreal lash paradise or the purple essence mascara are my go-to’s at the drugstore.
I know you're probably joking, but fyi, look into the risks with lash serums before doing it, I tried grande lash and eventually took it back bc of the possible side effects.
The Maybelline Lash Sensational is the best for me! I’ve tried so many other ones and always come back to it. I typically use that first then layer it with another brand for volume. When I don’t use it, there’s a noticeable difference.
@@MandaL0814 i use all different kind to be honest. Mostly IT super hero (another fav) or Better than sex. Those are just the ones that I’ve found worked for me with the Maybelline. I’m sure any volumizing will work though. I honestly think the best results come from the Maybelline.
Yea Maybelline mascaras! Lash Discovery is always my first coat, and then Lash Sensation or Sky High... have tried some of those, but Maybelline has my favorites.
Thanks Abbey, this is so helpful. Your natural lashes are gorgeous!! Rimmel discontinued my 1-coat magical HG years ago (natural, classic fat & fluffy wand). I use Essence Princess (green) and I'd be happy to repurchase. I'm willing to spend more if the product is truly worth it for me. For the budget conscious, there are products for reviving mascara, definitely worth trying as they unlock a lot of product. For those based in UK, I decant Boots Traditional Glycerin and Rosewater into spray bottle. A quick spray into mascara tube, then shake, works wonders.
Her: this mascara, not so great. Me: EVERY mascara she applies looks great on her. I have lashes that don't hold its curl. Looking for a mascara that will work for me.
if u curl them with an eyelash curler try to warm it with ur blow drier or with a lighter, be sure it's warm so u don't burn urself. that works for me bc i have straight eyelashes :):
same. my lashes literally point downward and are thick & heavy (but at least they're long lol) and u prob already know this but WATERPROOF mascara is the best for holding a curl. non waterproof just drag & weigh my lashes down! 😓 also as said above, heat ur lash curler!
@@virginiaelizabeth4577 😃 I actually recently bought Loreal Telescopic Carbon Black. I curled my lashes with a Tarte curler. My lashes have finally looked & stayed curled for most of today.
Your favourite has been mine for years!! -I love this one because its one of very few mascaras that dont leave black smudges under the eye after one hour or more of use!!
OMG you MISSED the BEST lengthening mascara ever on the market...Loreal Telescopic is a HG for many people. Cannot do a battle of the mascara without including that one.
@@AbbeyYung I didn't really love telescopic either, but my mom does. Not all drugstore, but my favorites are Tarte big ego, Lorac royal treatment, Brooklyn & Bailey lash next door, Nars climax, & a few Eyeko mascaras. CG exhibitionist was pretty good too, can't remember if it flaked or smudged though. I'm more into natural looks though so many might disagree with me. However if I want more dramatic I go with thrive -- gets all over my eyelid during application no matter what, but after smearing the excess off on a paper towel it goes on great.
Maybelline lash sensational has been my favorite mascara since high school! I remember being SHOOK when I first used it back then and getting so many compliments on my eyelashes after using it! Still to this day have not found a better mascara for a better price!
The eyelashes looked best with the first 3. The thick, clumpy mascara look grew as she went on. The first three were so much more believable...I guess it’s the biggest issue is what you’re looking for as far as how you’re lashes look.
Definitely different lash goals. First 3 were beautifully long seperated voulumized lashes. Last 3 were messy, clumpy, spidery and sloppy. I like lash sensational too, and agree that it's a really good (one of the best, imo) mascaras. However, I've never used such a heavy handed application as to not like it as I felt about it here. When it comes to lashes, you are working with a stacked deck already (gorgeous) so results are going to vary. As I said, different lash goals.
Took your advice and tried the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara after using the Essence Lash Princess for over a year. Previously only used pricey high-end mascaras but these two are as good as any IMO. I agree that the Lash Sensational is a terrific mascara. Volume is where it falls a bit short. For me the Maybelline lash sensational #1 and the Essence lash princess #2
I've used Maybelline Define-a-lash for YEARS. It holds curl really well on my straight lashes. I love plastic wands, so maybe I will try out the Lash Sensational sometime soon!
Wish Maybelline and loreal were cruelty free so I could try these and so many other products! For now I LOVE the Essence Lash Princess waterproof mascara (gotta wear waterproof, I'm a cryer😄)
@Liliam Valdez most of the time I'll do a double cleanse, starting with an oil based cleansing balm. Or I'll use the garnier micellar cleansing water, the one that says on the label it takes off waterproof mascara.
I’ve used L’Oréal Voluminous for years and really like it but I’m a senior and like to keep a more natural look. I came online looking since I needed a new tube and I saw your video. Very helpful, I really liked the comparisons and I’m going to order your number 1 pick. Thanks for the tip, Abbey.
I've always only used drug store mascaras and I'm never satisfied so I tried an expensive one for $30 from Clarins and it's honestly mind blowing how much better it is.
I love Maybelline lash sensational and the L’Oreal Lash paradise! I always have one of them open. I’m so happy that we get the same Lash paradise in Europe now, when it first launched here it wasn’t as good as the US version. I actually don’t like the Essence mascara’s, they don’t seem to work for me. Oh and Kiko has some good mascara’s too!
I’ve always loved the curved brushes. Have been using L’Oréal voluminous thinking it was the best, but am definitely going to try your #1 recommended. Fantastic informative video 👍👍👍
I remember loving the Maybelline Lash Sensational so much! I’ve been using the L’oreal Lash Paradise consistently since it came out and forgot about that one! I just saw your mascara tricks video and I have to go and buy my long lost mascara love again!
Oh my god. Did you raid my makeup bag?? What’s happening. I’m so glad to see a mascara review that’s not like “you can find this for only $39 in Ulta” because most of us makeup shop in Walmart, Target etc. So excited to see this review!
try mexican mascaras, brands like prosa, by apple, bissu, naturone, are the best!! most of these brands are made with natural ingredients and give a loooot of volume :)
@@savanahgreen333 not all of them, those are waterproof and you can only use 1 coat... there are more brands but I've tried all of them and prosa and bissu are the best :)
--- yes!!! I've tried the "manzanita" ones and if I remember correctly, the Mamey one is amazing. They only problem is that they are super hard to remove.
So interesting that you mentioned some of the others being dry - I found the Lash Paradise to be so dry I could barely get 4-6 weeks out of a full size tube. The Lash Sensational was too wet for me at the start but after a couple of weeks it was really nice.
i also was wondering about why my lash paradise ran out so fast, but then i saw it has much less in it than all the other mascaras. so it makes sense it runs out faster. bums me out that they still charge the same price for it though :/
just a tip for everyone: if your mascara is drying out, heat up a cup of water for about 30-45 seconds and drop the tube in there. By the time you get to that step, the mascara won’t be as dry :)
The sky high is my new fav! Definitely a learning curve with the flexible wand, but it makes my lashes look amazing and it does not budge!! I don't like the lash sensational bc I have hooded eyes with decently long lashes and I always get mascara on my lids if I work up the length with any mascara, and with that one I can't let it dry and flake it off with a q-tip or brush without ruining my eyeshadow.
Been using this mascara for YEARS! I'm not surprised it's #1 on your list. Thank you for trying other mascaras so I don't have to, it helped cure my curiosity of other types :)
I just bought the winner (Lash Sensational) for the second time in the waterproof version, and it's very good! I have also used Lancome mascaras in waterproof versions (Hypnose, Monsieur Big) and I'd say that I'd be satisfied buying the waterproof Lash Sensational in the future. I get really false lash looking lashes with Monsieur Big, but you need to wipe extra product from the wand and it's annoying. The brush is huge and makes the mascara application a bit dangerous (smudging). The Lancome Hypnose is much more convenient for everyday use and there's no excess product in the wand. But I'd say that the finish result is so similar with the Lash Sensational, that it literally makes no sense to pay extra to buy the Lancome if Maybelline is as good. Where I live, the price of the Lancome on sale is double the price of the Maybelline on sale. If I'd buy a new tube every 3 months, I would definitely choose Maybelline, but in reality I don't open a new one so often, so I might pick the high end once a while. I have to buy waterproof mascaras because non-waterproof formulas melt in my eyes even if I just stay at home doing nothing. I've also used the Loreal Million lashes in the purple tube and it is a good one for everyday use but it's not very volumizing. I believe that's a tubing formula that melts with warm water. To say something from my mascara preference, I would have stopped the mascara layers way before she did. I don't want to see lashes clumping together, and I prefer separation and length over volume.
The #1 mascara is my favorite!!! I have received ipsy for years and tried SOOOOO many expensive mascaras but the Maybelline lash sensational is the absolute best!! 💯
I recently got the sky high, and combining it with the Lash Paradise is just... Yes. Used the Lash Paradise for years before getting the sky high, now I just use both together. lol
Could you mention if the mascaras have a scent? I recently bought a L'Oreal one that had such a strong perfume I had to return it but I like the effect you got from your 2nd place choice. I'm sure I bought a Maybelline one that smelled strongly of chrysanthemums. I do not understand why mascara needs scent - who is out there smelling eyes?
Essence i think is the best out of drugstore but u need to use it with a wound of lancome defincils which is my favorite mascara. I think most of the Makeup community on YT rates it as number one for a reason. But it's okay obviously if we like a different thing there is no harm in that. This was a great video
For those asking about flaking & smudging none of these do that for me! Would’ve let you guys know otherwise 😊

Abbey, I can't thank you enough for this video. I've spent hundreds of dollars on high-end mascara (Chanel, YSL, etc.) and tried Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Mascara after seeing this video. OMG, it is just as good as any of the high end mascaras I've used...I'm switching to
I loved how Abbey gets excited over her fav mascara. Got me so excited that I’m going to purchase it
Finally, someone who loves the Lash Sensational!
Its called Lash Stiletto!!! Totally agree too!!! Its bomb!
I love the LS!
I've been using lash sensational for years now and it's my holy grail ❤❤
I really like the loreal telescopic mascara for length, and the waterproof formula stays on my lashes all day despite my oily lids.
My holy trinity of mascaras is
L’Oréal telescopic black tube Benefit Roller lash & maybelline lash sensational. I love length and separation.
I have heard the black tube is way better than the gold!!
I haven't tried the black telescopic, but I like the gold one. Going to have to try the black one.
Benefit Rollerlash is so good, and it seems like it lasts forever!
which one do you use first??
What order do you use them in? I need to buy these lol
My go to is L’Oréal Double Extend lash tubes. Doesn’t come off or flake even after a super sweaty Zumba class. I enjoyed Maybelline Sky High the first 3-4 times I used it and then it just went clumpy for me. Thanks for the informative video! ❤️
I love the double extend! It just doesn’t give me the volume I want but definitely the separation.
SAME
The tube is so ugly but the product is soooo good. I love that stuff. Isn’t it a fiber mascara?
Maybelline Sky High performed and lasted the same for me, good at first, then a few uses later, it was clumpy. I'm older, but honestly, I think mascaras from years back were much better than today's, except for Maybelline, it was the one that would smudge off within a few hrs. Back in the day, Covergirl mascaras were much better than all of these different ones today, and unfortunately today's Covergirl is nothing like what it use to be, and very disappointing. I wish they had just stuck with what they once had.
All I want is a mascara that doesn't flake into my glasses and smudge underneath my eyes 😭
yes, I think that us people with glasses will notice the flakyness much sooner. because most flakes would be so small they wouldn't stick to your undereye area. btu they do stick to the insides of glasses and grrrr it makes me go crazy
Fiberwig.. absolutely a life saver
My flakes go in my eyeball and irritate my contacts.
@@labornurse oh god we just can't win lmao
Have you tried the sky high? I accidentally slept in it one night and it did not budge, even with me sleeping on my face 🤣
Do you use waterproof one or the other
@@trupti13indoaussie Hi..
No lie, I do the exact same thing except that I focus the Lash Sensational mainly on the outer corners. :)
My fav is Essence. The green one I just love it! Using for more than 3 years
I love the maybelline lash sensational! I was an essence stan for years until I wanted something with a better waterproof formula. My new holy grail.
Do you use waterproof one or the other?
@@trupti13indoaussie I use both, waterproof is great and holds the curl better. I've been using the normal one lately because it's easier to remove
I use the Essence Lash Princess (green tube and blue one to have waterproof option) and before applying, I use L’Oréal lash primer (white tube) and I find better separation and better length - gives a more defined false lash look (:
L’Oréal Lash Paradise is also a favorite along with the pink tube lash primer (:
Step one: have eyelashes
Use false lashes and a micellar water to remove it
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Correct. This girl has eyelashes....
Maybelline Lash Sensational is my favourite mascara. I hate it when mascara clumps your lashes together so they look like you have less lashes!
LOVE the showdowns. Foundations, primers, concealers... I’m here for it! And maybe skincare too! 🤔 the possibilities
I've been wearing lash sensation for years and I love it. So no need to change. But I am interested to try Sky High, so I think I'll still give that a go and then revert to my trusted classic.
Same
Which one is your fave now? Thanks!
@@bri_marie_ the original one, but... The sky high is good. My mum's now trying it because the skinny brush is good at picking up smaller lashes in the corners.
Actually I liked the orange one on you the most😍 unfortunately I tried the No.1 mascara and I liked how it performed, but my goodness it was soooo hard to take it off 😩 that’s why my favorite one is the L’Oréal lash paradise 🙌👌 great video, thank you so much 💕💕
My fav is the sky high! Makes my lashes have a good mascara day every time and actually adds length
Agree
You should try L’Oreal Telescopic mascara. I’ve been using it for years, & it’s been the only drugstore mascara (that I’ve tried) that holds my lashes up. I love it! I’m looking forward to trying the Maybelline mascara you ranked #1.
L’Oréal telescopic is my fav too. It’s very buildable without getting clumpy and doesn’t dry out or flake.
I have and love both. The waterproof Lash Princess stays on so well the only thing I find that gets it off is the Garnier micellar water with the blue cap.
Too bad that they test on animals
Telescopic is my favorite too. I have the shortest lashes ever, so the super skinny wand is a dream for me. Those huge curved wands are a disaster, mascara all over my lid no matter how careful I am.
I can't believe my holy grail L'Oreal voluminous is in last place! I've been using it for years so I do need to experiment and will try your first place choice. Love your thorough reviews!
I thought her Voluminous lashes were the best! (It’s also my hg mascara)
Haha I thought the same thing. I just bought a two pack from Walmart for $10 LOL. 🤷🏼♀️
Abbey you should try covergirl exhibitionist mascara - you'll love it! (especially since your top 3 are my top 3 as well, in addition to the Covergirl one!)
Exhibitionist is better than Lash paradise!! I love it!
It's so interesting seeing how every one of us has different way of applying mascara. Great video by the way.
I agree, and was thrilled to see your top pick was lash sensational. Its been my favorite for years!
L’Oreal Telescopic has been my hero for so many years now!
I thought about saying this as well. And then saw your comment and instantly thought “🤫🤫🤫 don’t tell them!” 😬😬
This is my favorite mascara too! I don't love other mascaras as much as i do this one. Another question - did you notice that your lashes weakened at the beginning?
I use to use telescope till I found tarte 🥰
Same here
Lash paradise is my fave!! I use that and the green essence as a topper. Love the combo and always go back to lash paradise.
Just a recommendation... the Gigi Blacklash Mascara from Mac. It’s sooo good! I love simple, natural, and high quality beauty products and this mascara hits all of those points!
I use this exclusively for my lower lashes. The only mascara that doesnt smudge on my oily lids.
Your lashes can pull of ANY mascara. Great showdown!
Ever since I got poked in the eye with a mascara wand getting my makeup done for a dance competition I’ve been terrified of mascara 😂 but you’ve helped me get back in the game 😊
I’ve literally never read a comment as relatable as yours lmao😂 makeup for the stage is rly the worst 😅
@@monicshastings8945 Ooh, that's good to know! I'll try that one out! Wet and Wild has good enough prices to experiment with different items, haha
ok but.... your eyelashes look incredible with all of them!!!! hahaha
😂 thank you!
🤣🤣 I thought the same
OMG I was thinking the same thing.
Same i also dont like it that much and i also dont understand the hype😕

I agree! SO GOOD it makes my lashes so long
I recently bought the Maybelline waterproof lash sensational and I was honestly super amazed.
It’s not even a “it’s good for the price” situation, it’s genuinely my favorite out of every mascara I’ve ever tried, ever.
the only problem is it's so hard to take off.

The BEST
Hi, what is tubing mascara?
@@janicerainey8687 hey I found this on google:
"Regular mascaras use oils, waxes and dyes, whereas tubing mascaras have polymers that wrap around each individual lash. This creates 'tubes' that encase each lash giving you a very even application. It may sound strange, but tubing mascaras are actually smudge-proof and are super easy to remove!"
hope it helps
My husband yells at me for leaving tubular residue in the sink
Maybelline Lash Sensational was the first mascara I ever tried and its always been my favorite. Ive tried so many but none compare
I LOVE lash sensational too!! My top top is that one and Honest Beauty mascara!! That's my absolute favorite 😍
Lash Paradise by L'oreal is where it's at for me, as far as drugstore mascaras. I want good coverage in one coat, no clumps and I don't care that much about volume. I want lift and length, and I feel like it improves the quality of my lashes as well.
I am looking for separation, not volume, so Maybelline. It also gives a great lift. Paradise and Sky high do better lenght.
Covergirl is now cruelty free.
You're so brave.
CoverGirl is cruelty free now
Yes to your 2 step mascara video! Looking forward to it!!!
For me personally i prefered the mascaras in the opposite order. I like a dryer formula because i like a more natural lash but i did really like the Lash Sensational.
Same! Every time she said the formula is dry, I'm like, but I love drier formula! 😅
Same! They looked so much better!
Same here!
I really think a lot of these mascaras could have benefited from a metal lash comb and less coats ...just my opinion. I think I tend to prefer a more wispy/defined lash.
I define 1 coat as 3 swipes....these are more like 10 coats! Holy smokes! 😆. If I have to swipe more than 3-5 times, it’s a fail.
I thought it was just me 😝
Lol. I know. Her lashes are amazing. I never use this many coats. 4 max, but usually 3.
I slowed down the speed and counted. 51 swipes on her right eye for her number one mascara. ON THE FIRST COAT! Sheesh
I consider 1 coat as 1 dip into the product
@@jansenhicks3163 You are the hero of my sanity this evening. Thank you!!!

the essence is awesome.. wear it daily even when im working out to give my lashes a pop. 2 coats is perfect for me
Best mascara!!!!
Honest question; does everyone use this much mascara with each coat? I can't get my lashes to look like yours using that much product....it ends up looking extremely clumpy. Yours look amazing!!
to me at least, that's how much i do too 😂
I dont, i do like 3 swipes
I've used 5 of the mascaras she used and my lashes never looked like that with any of them esp Lash Princess they'd be a massive clumpy mess or I'd have mascara all over my eyelids. I would call her first application 3 coats at least and I usually do 2 coats. Not sure if she wipes off the wand first? Interested to see the mascara secrets video.
No irritate me the coats i use once twice coat.Maybelline classic volume express extra black ,not clump and looks feels natural no smudge.

@@kyliecoco572 the maybelline lash sensational mascara! It’s the number one mascara on her list! I get it from Walmart for around 7 dollars ☺️
The eyelashes looked best with the first 3. The thick, clumpy mascara look grew as she went on. The first three were so much more believable...I guess it’s the biggest issue is what you’re looking for as far as how you’re lashes look.
they looked so thick and spidery by the end 😟
Definitely different lash goals.
First 3 were beautifully long seperated voulumized lashes.
Last 3 were messy, clumpy, spidery and sloppy.
I like lash sensational too, and agree that it's a really good (one of the best, imo) mascaras. However, I've never used such a heavy handed application as to not like it as I felt about it here.
When it comes to lashes, you are working with a stacked deck already (gorgeous) so results are going to vary.
As I said, different lash goals.

just a tip for everyone: if your mascara is drying out, heat up a cup of water for about 30-45 seconds and drop the tube in there. By the time you get to that step, the mascara won’t be as dry :)
So glad im not the only one with this problem. I loved the mascara but it ran out so damn fast, wasnt worth buying again for that reason
I have not wore another mascara other than voluminous since 1995 😂 I think it’s time for a change!
Been using this mascara for YEARS! I'm not surprised it's #1 on your list. Thank you for trying other mascaras so I don't have to, it helped cure my curiosity of other types :)
This was super helpful. Any chance you would ever do a waterproof version?
No one ever does a waterproof version. 🥺
@@ambergerhelper7852 Why?
@@traceytrotter9934 the formulas are never as good as the non waterproof. But I don't know why people don't text the waterproof versions too.
@@noora7773 hey girl... Thanks for the detailed comment! Very helpful! ❤️

Earlyyyy I love you so much Abbey!
The honest beauty mascara is also soo good!
That one also has a lash primer!
Love you ♥️ that one is really good! It surprised me
I recently got the sky high, and combining it with the Lash Paradise is just...
