Did you have to push the piston in yourself, or does the EPB maintenance mode do that automatically? And if you do still have to push the piston back, can you compress it with a c-clamp, or does it have to be rotated?
You will need to retract the piston manually. Putting the vehicle in maintenance mode allows you to do so without interfering or damaging the motor. Once in maintenance mode the piston retracts straight back in to the caliper. No need to twist or turn the piston as you would with the integrated parking brake calipers. A c-clamp will work just fine.
@@robyntymms5889 yes some vehicles are a full key cycle, others you use the same procedure that you used to go into maintenance mode, in the opposite direction. So if it’s parking brake switch sequence up for maintenance mode you go down to go out of maintenance mode.
