I know that to pick up that large container and pour it up over my head into the filter container Simply a no go with me. Rather to use a gallon container with a screw on spout. Grant would need to fill to fill again over and again that gallon container, yet still so much lighter in weight..🚰💧🌊

I've been cutting my own hair for years. Nothing can be bad enough that a hat won't cover. I use a Remington hair clipper with a curve head, it works for me.
You actually do a great job of cutting your own hair. The important thing is if you like it. I don't think anyone looking at you would say, "Hey, that guy must cut his own hair." Cheers.
I am 64 years old, and I have been cutting my own hair for at least 20 years. Like you, it’s all about self-sufficiency. But I must say if I were traveling, I might enjoy the atmosphere of old fashioned barbershops in small towns.

My Mother ( rest her soul) went to hair styling / beauty school in her youth, and always kept her license up to date for a backup to any other career she got into. She cut my hair for years and taught me the basics are simple with the new grooming tools that are available. I also cut my own hair but I have much less hair to cut. I call it my heritage and it t makes grooming twice as easy since I have half as much hair. A number 3 comb / guide on my clippers works for both my head and beard. Your cut looks just fine. For me, any attempt at grooming is better than being shaggy.

It's interesting to learn the different ways van people keep clean and groomed. Being half bald, I just buzz it all off. It turns out nice and even - lol. I intentionally stand out in the wind when I cut my hair so most of the clippings get blown off me. I do sponge baths with no-rinse periwash - the stuff they use to bathe bedridden people. It saves a lot of water. Then maybe once a month I take a real shower at a truck stop.
Hello Scott, I agree with the others , ( only read a few but anyway) yes, you do a good job at cutting your hair...I used to cut my own hair, wasn't very good at it but then I decided to just let it grow out. Now my hair cuts itself, with a lil help from my brush, ... it breaks off, and not in a very pleasing way, kinda uneven, but I just really don't care much anymore. ..lol As for those people who leave unkind comments, who cares, they really just wanna get ya riled up... Good job at just leap frogging over them. Don't let them take up space in your head, pun intended...lol Sheets and just about everything these days have lost their quality, but high in price, it truly disgusts me the level of greed that has been growing by leaps and bounds, lately!!! I have never had flannel sheets, I bet they're comfy, but having said that my favorite are 100 percent cotton sheets. Soooo comfy. I have curly hair. Even if you cut it evenly, some will curl more, etc, giving you an uneven “look”. I think it looks nice! On your last haircut it looked nice also. If i were a stranger, meeting you for first time, I wouldn’t immediately notice your hair. Id notice your eyes and how you spoke and carried yourself. 👍🥰
Forgot to say, I have a cow lick also. Don’t ever hear anyone speak about that anymore. Mines on my right top side. As a woman, I don’t go nearly enough. I might go once a year, maybe twice, but sometimes longer. Of course, it’s shoulder length and I can get away with it. However , I really should get it colored with my grays now beginning- but I don’t. I don’t like sitting in a chair for long time and making conversation etc etc

Been cutting my hair since 2019 and I'll never go back to a hair salon. They just can't get the style that i want and I'm not wasting money & time for that. Honestly, for someone who's grooming his own hair for 2 years, your haircut looks good. Most people will not notice the minor details. It's a hit and miss for the first 2 years; people at work were teasing me about my too-short-for-THEIR-taste front fringes. Laughed back at them while saying that it's a style of haircut that I'm trying to recreate and I'm surprised that they don't know about it. Me casually laughing back at them made them question their opinion. Now, same people are complimenting my hair and on how I can pull off different styles that they want to try. 😂 So just keep on doing what feels best to you and stand your ground. They'll back off when they see that you're unbothered and that they can't bend you with their words.

I'm in Victoria, BC for a few days for a change of atmosphere. Being that I took the Clipper here with choppy waters, I spent less time in the city today walking and needed some time to relax at the place I'm staying for renewal!

I agree with you. I don't pay for a gym membership either. I use wipes from Amazon that you get wet and they turn soapy. You don't have to rinse off either. There amazing. Then I use 2 of the one gallon jugs of water and wash my hair. Works for me!

I use the hobo shower like you using a 32 ounce water bottle. I need to add a half gallon jug like you for that major overhaul. I have a high roof transit van and I use a shower curtain between the two back doors.

In Oregon there is a project to remove non-native grasses along the coast which might be what they did. Nothing beats the beauty of the west coast ocean.

Why do people have to be so mean? I think you do a great job on your own haircuts. During the yrs that had salons closed down I cut my own hair. I did a so-so job just using scissors. I figured if it didnt look good then people just didn't have to look at me. I went to a salon last year and they butchered it, so now I'm just letting it grow. You look great!
I feel you on the clothing complaints. I've worn the same brands and shopped at the same couple of stores for years cause I've always like the options they offer, it matches my style, and I know their cut will fit my frame nicely. No confusion on sizing. But the quality of the clothing has dropped so much, and they've started making design changes to longtime staple wardrobe items, and it's disappointing and frustrating. I do not want to deal with having to find new places to shop.
I think those of us of a certain age will remember the really wonderful flannel sheets. I **think** they were made of cotton, whereas all the ones I can find now are microfiber. As for the quality of EVERYTHING else, I'm REALLY struck these days how quality has plummeted! Seems the world is really falling apart😥
I can honestly say I have NEVER noticed your hair look "really awful"...au contraire! Dang naysayers!! It always looks fine. I'm sticks and bricks but I always cut my own hair. I've been doing it for about 15 or 20 years and there's only been once or twice where I did an "oops". I watched your haircut, and it looks fine. I cut my hair a couple of months ago. I placed my hair into a band and cut my hair at the nape of my head. Removed 2 inches. After that, I looked at a mirror and say a few hair strings and cut them. My hair is fine and straight and easily to cut. So your hair looks fine. Go have your coffee ☕️ 😊 Cindy

I used to try to cut my hair so it had some style but I finally started taking my clippers and just going bald every six months and that made it easier for me 😂😂😂😂
Since I was 17 years old i had bad inflamation of scalp, redness and dandruff and itch. Used everything under the sun, and it would get better for a while, but then week or two after hairdresser cut my hair it would return. I am convinced that at hairdressers some fungus or demodex mites would be transmited to me again and again. So two years ago, when I was 38 I started cutting my hair and the problemvis almost gone. And my hair almost completely stopped fallimg out since i cut it my self

I’ve been cutting my own hair with similar clippers for about 25 years now. Your technique looks fairly solid and you did a fine job. Not sure why people would flame you over your haircut 🤷♂️

I agree with you. I don't pay for a gym membership either. I use wipes from Amazon that you get wet and they turn soapy. You don't have to rinse off either. There amazing. Then I use 2 of the one gallon jugs of water and wash my hair. Works for me!

I sometimes cut my hair at home too, and because it's layered and wavy/curly, if I mess up (which is often) you can't really tell. 😁😁 That shower with bottles is so clever! I use the hobo shower like you using a 32 ounce water bottle. I need to add a half gallon jug like you for that major overhaul. I have a high roof transit van and I use a shower curtain between the two back doors.

Why do people have to be so mean? I think you do a great job on your own haircuts. During the yrs that had salons closed down I cut my own hair. I did a so-so job just using scissors. I figured if it didnt look good then people just didn't have to look at me. I went to a salon last year and they butchered it, so now I'm just letting it grow. You look great!
I feel you on the clothing complaints. I've worn the same brands and shopped at the same couple of stores for years cause I've always like the options they offer, it matches my style, and I know their cut will fit my frame nicely. No confusion on sizing.
But the quality of the clothing has dropped so much, and they've started making design changes to longtime staple wardrobe items, and it's disappointing and frustrating. I do not want to deal with having to find new places to shop.

I think those of us of a certain age will remember the really wonderful flannel sheets. I **think** they were made of cotton, whereas all the ones I can find now are microfiber.
As for the quality of EVERYTHING else, I'm REALLY struck these days how quality has plummeted! Seems the world is really falling apart😥

I'm sticks and bricks but I always cut my own hair. I've been doing it for about 15 or 20 years and there's only been once or twice where I did an "oops". As opposed to almost every time leaving a stylist and being unhappy or embarrassed with how I looked after a **professional*" did it. 😭 And the cost savings go without saying! 👍🏼👍🏼
I watched your haircut, and it looks fine. I cut my hair a couple of months ago. I placed my hair into a band and cut my hair at the nape of my head. Removed 2 inches. After that, I looked at a mirror and say a few hair strings and cut them. My hair is fine and straight and easily to cut. So your hair looks fine. Go have your coffee ☕️ 😊 Cindy

I used to try to cut my hair so it had some style but I finally started taking my clippers and just going bald every six months and that made it easier for me 😂😂😂😂

Since I was 17 years old i had bad inflamation of scalp, redness and dandruff and itch. Used everything under the sun, and it would get better for a while, but then week or two after hairdresser cut my hair it would return. I am convinced that at hairdressers some fungus or demodex mites would be transmited to me again and again. So two years ago, when I was 38 I started cutting my hair and the problemvis almost gone. And my hair almost completely stopped fallimg out since i cut it my self
You're a pro at it. The trolls only wish they can do that good. Self-sufficient is the way I go to. My hair is very long. So is my husband's! I cut both of our hair!
